I have never been to a store, but I bought a Cynthia Rowley gray wool pullover sweater from Marshalls. I loved it. It fit well and it looked great. I would actually go so far as to say it was my favorite sweater. That is until I washed it a couple of times according to the directions on the tag… hand wash cold water and lay flat to dry. It shrank down about 3 sizes, and I am no longer able to wear it. What a huge disappointment.

I am a former intern and true fan of Cynthia — as a designer and a person. Great personality that translates to the design. Cute, whimsical clothing spot!

It’s expensive, and the clothes are hit and miss, but if you can find something you love, it’s worth the search. The staff is surprisingly sweet and chatty, and you’ll feel comfortable trying a few extra things on that you know you’d never purchase, just for the fun.

It may be true that this Cynthia Rowley doesn’t offer the largest selection, but it still deserves 5 stars. Here’s why: 1) The best staff. I always receive a warm greeting, helpful suggestions, and friend-like advice. My guy friend and I once spent over an hour in this glorified closet because they made us feel so comfortable and at home(complementary champagne kept the guy friend sedated). 2) The best location. Tucked away in the West Village, you can forget how accomplished Cynthia Rowley really is. This store screams with the ambition and playfulness of an up-and-coming young New York designer. It’s small, well-edited, and neighborhood-y. 3) The PRICES! How does she do it?! Rowley’s prices are very reasonable and there’s literally something for anyone within the store. Fabulous pumps for $ 175, funky sunglasses and belts for $ 100, dresses in the $ 300 – 400 range… it’s not cheap, but it’s not nearly as expensive as I expect it to be. 4) The clothes rock. If you’re looking for a dress for that special occasion –New Years Party, Office Christmas Party, Hot Date, Job Interview, Seething Breakup– they’ve got you covered. I’ve noticed that Rowley’s dresses best fit those in their spec model range(2 – 4?), but I’ve also not seen a lot of women try on the clothing. It’s not necessarily a criticism, but I think many of Rowley’s designs flatter a petite body best because of their rather short hems and daring, lively prints or novelty fabrics.

Wonderful place! I went to an event here hosted by Housing Works and had the best experience ever. There was food, people, drinks and tons of sale clothes!!! The clothes are to die for and the ambiance in the store is über fun. Cynthia herself came out for a bit and she is the cutest thing in the world! Love her style, love her clothes and if you are ever in WV just stop in and take a look for yourself!

I have found some fabulous party(artsy) pieces from Cynthia Rowley including an Yves Klein blue flapper-like dress with tiered blue pleats & Peter Pan black see through collar. When first tying it on, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to buy it, as it didn’t fit entirely well. It looked a little bag-like. I made chit-chat with the salesman. All of a sudden, a tall attractive woman approaches me and says«it needs to be shorter, you’ve got the legs.» She asks permission to trim the last tier of pleats, pulls out her scissors, and snips off inches of silk fabric. Little did I know it was Cynthia Rowley herself! Personal touch adds a lot.

I loved the experience I had in this store. The manager was so sweet I hung out just to talk to him, and the clothes and bags are amazing. Hands down its the best shopping experience in the west village.

I love the fun prints that I find in Cynthia Rowley. Don’t hesitate to walk in for a look. The staff can be either stiff or friendly — regardless, the fabrics and prints keep me going back.
