Gee willickers Batman, All Daffy’s are GOB!!!(going out of business) but 20%-40% isn’t going to help that stuff move fast, tisk tisk ~greedy bums~

They are big on men’s shoe collections. Some of them are nice and stylish for the affordable price. Again it’s a miss or hit. If you find something you like, buy it. It’ll be gone the next day.

In keeping with the neighborhood, the Madison Ave. Daffy’s definitely has a more career-​oriented selection of clothing than their more ‘downtown’ counterparts. There’s still some crossover, as far as stock, but here, the men’s clothing is highlighted — it’s on the main floor, and the women’s is downstairs. They had a good selection of women’s suits — and since that’s what I was looking for (unusually), I was more than pleased! (I was actually planning on heading to Macy’s to buy a suit — but Daffy’s saved me from that fate!) I got a completely adequate, brand-​name suit that fits me nicely and looks very professional — for slightly over 90% off the original retail price. Score!
I’m docking one star, however, because, as others have mentioned, it was uncomfortably hot in here. So hot that it was a relief to go into the dressing room and remove clothing!
The cashiers were also confused about the sale that was running. The first cashier rang up my items at the wrong price; the second person I talked to wasn’t sure, the third person (fetched by the second person) told me rather rudely that I was flat-​out wrong, and it took the FOURTH person to tell me that I was right and that the employee memo about the sale had been rather confusing. I knew I was right. Yes, I apparently shop at Daffy’s frequently enough that I’m more familiar with how their sales work than the majority of their employees. I did, eventually, get everything rung up at the correct sale prices, though. And — Score!

Bought several packs of Calvin Klein socks — holes started appearing immediately. Almost like a joke. 90% of socks are in garbage after 6 months.

I work right upstairs from this location and really have only been in here maybe three times. They always have nice outfits on display but maybe I’m just cheap cause I still find some of their prices a little expensive. The store itself is kind of hard to navigate through. It’s very crowded and just not pretty. And their clothing selection does not seem to be aimed to a younger crowd at all. They do have a lot of nice shoes though and some cool stuff for home.

Classic department store, over stocked with something for everyone.
If there’s a Daffy’s within walking distance I will pop in if I need a staple item, such as underwear or sports wear.
However, as a fashion store it’s a bit ordinary.

This is absolutely my least favorite Daffy’s ever! It’s tiny and cramped, the selection sucks, there’s practically no mobile service downstairs and the fitting rooms are HOT. So hot I was drenched in sweat before I tried anything on even though i was standing right by a huge fan (they have a few which keeps it just barely above stifling). I guess that could work if you wanna try on bathing suits, but for anything else it just plain sucks.
There are definitely better Daffy’s to go dig around in, don’t waste your time here.

Everyone I have talked to says the same about this place. When you walk in this store to look for something then spend the time looking its either a hit or a miss. To me the few times that I have been in here its just plain messy and hard to look at. Clothes are placed randomly and all the others are flung in the wrong sections.
Most things in my opinion are just plain outdated for the current styles out there. At least other discount stores such as Century 21 have more current things with a much broader assortment.

Of all of the discount stores in NYC, I would have to say that Daffy’s is probably my least favorite chain.
Women’s department: Most of the clothes look as though they’re straight out of the late 80s/​early 90s minivan mom’s closet. Other women’s clothes just look tacky. The lingerie department looks as though it’s straight from K-mart…almost nothing quality to choose from. Shoes are tacky and completely outdated. Most handbags and purses are cheap… very few finds. You can come across some interesting finds every once in a while (umbrellas?).
Men’s department: I have less experience here but I feel as though the selection is slightly better for men but I have seen some horrible horrible men’s shirts in the store.
Housewares: Slightly better with interesting pieces and finds. I think you can get some smaller things here for the home.

I came here for the first time. I’ve never been to any other Daffy’s before but a coworker recommended me to come here. Basically this is a slightly more expensive TJ Maxx. From my understanding the NJ stores are less of a mad house and more spacious but unfortunately like all Manhattan stores, this place is tiny, cramped and is a mess.
I came during my lunch hour during the week and everyone is digging and digging and pushing and I could barely make my way around. I was trying to find a coat but the only one I liked was available in 2 sizes wtf? Not all of us want super high brands at a «lower» price but I suppose that’s the target audience of this kind of store.
I do admit they had cute $ 10 umbrellas and maybe their bag section is good but I’d prefer to go somewhere that doesn’t make my head spin and it’s easy to tell where things are located instead of going into 3 different parts of the store to look for the same type of item.

This is likely the worst Daffy’s in the city. It’s very small and cramped and tends to be ravaged by the midtown office crowd. I prefer the 57^th st location (which is usually insanely busy) or the newly located location on the Ladies Mile. They have great, great values for underwear, socks, umbrellas. This is the kind of store you need to stop in weekly or visit without a specific plan so that you will be surprised by what is there.

I love Daffy’s for shoes and housewares. The shoes range from funky for going out or perfectly conservative for work. It’s hit or miss with other clothes though.
I try to visit at least once a month to see what’s up.

Once I go in, I can’t get out! I’ve been known to spend HOURS lost among the racks and racks of clothes. Just as I’m about to check out, I see something on another rack. It’s ridiculous. I agree though with a previous review, the clothes are geared towards the 20 – 35 crowd. I’ve also bought some good luggage here but mostly… it’s the clothes.

Good prices, yes, but some shoddy merchandise, and geared to planned obsolescence and the very young.
One can sometimes find what one seeks there. I too got a nice leather wallet.
Other branches at Manhattan Mall and 57^th near Bway.

This place is awesome. It’s basically just a department store at first glance, but it has a ton of cool things. They sell mens and womens clothes, and i’m almost positive there’s a childrens section too. They have alot of unique things and also designer brands for amazingly good deals. A must for anyone that loves to shop.

Man. I love this place. Can’t beat the prices and fresh fashions– I got a wallet, boots, work shirts, club shirts, cool jacket and more at prices I seriously couldn’t believe. It’s definitely one of my faves in NYC.

Daffy’s is just about the only place I buy clothes from other than Beacon’s Closet (see review). The latter is where I get my vintage & second hand deals — Daffy’s is where I go for new stuff and undies. It’s especially good for undies, where I always get matching sets for under $ 15; they also often have amazing prices on all kinds of weird designer clothes from Europe, particularly Italy. The shoes at Daffy’s are such an amazing deal, although I have found treasures there sometimes. I have most of my luck at the Madison Avenue & 44^th Street Branch, the Fifth Avenue and 18^th Street and the new Brooklyn store in the Atlantic center. Each store has a different character and it takes time to know which one to go to for which things. Apart from ladies’ apparel, they have men’s & kids’ stuff and home wares.
