History

Established in 1996.

I became frustrated teaching in the New York City public schools, because many of my students had psychological problems that I couldn’t address in the role of a teacher. I went back to school, completing a four-​year psychotherapy training program in gestalt psychotherapy and two years of a trauma resolution program. New York State awarded me licenses in mental health counseling and psychoanalysis. After graduation, I started with two clients and grew my practice, client by client. I remained in weekly supervision, which I believe is essential for doing effective work with clients.

Business Owner

I earned a M.Mus. at the Yale University School of Music, where I played orchestral and chamber music (clarinet). I earned an M.A. at Columbia University Teachers” College in special education. I taught blind and visually impaired children in the New York public schools for 26 years.

I am currently the clinical director of Identiy House, one of the oldest LGBT organizations in New York city (iden​ti​ty​house​.org)
