The atmosphere is great. It reminds you of a restaurant bar on the Long Island sound or cape cod. Food selection looks great. Staff is friendly. Check that. I love the staff they are the nicest people I’ve met so far in New York It is a bit cramp and crowded. Tables are uncomfortable. They don’t do carafes of mimosas on the menu but you can request it or just get an entire carafe of Proseco and one of orange juice I got the poutine with the egg. It was amazing but different from what I like as poutine.

Was really excited about this place, but they decided to cancel my delivery a half an hour after placing an order with no explanation other than they decided not to deliver in my area. Bad business.

Given the rave reviews here I’m not sure we were in the same place. Overall, I’d say that the front of the house needs to come up to the quality of the kitchen, but both have their flaws. We were seated and then met by a waitress who quickly recited all of the wines they were out of. Our second waitress was good, but she poured one glass of wine from our bottle and then left … With the bottle. Had to remind her we needed it back. The salads were large and good. The entrees, by comparison were good but small for the price. The ramen Mac and cheese was OK, but again, too small an order to share three ways. Over all, I’d rather have had a drink at PDT and a Crif dog.

Came here on Sunday because Café Mogador had a wait — and was pleasantly surprised! They close at 3 on Sunday, but despite the fact that we came in at 2:30, the service was great, as was the food(had the Norwegian Benedict — highly recommend). Also — cute atmosphere! Will definitely be coming back.

Ok, I love this place! I pass it often, but for some reason put off coming. On a Saturday morning, while having the dreaded ‘where should we eat?’ conversation, I decided it was time to give it a chance. First off, the ambiance is so perfect. Maybe it’s because the boyfriend and I got here early, but it was just so comfy and quiet. By the time we left, it was completely full. What solid me though? The Orange Blossom Pancakes. Heavenly, truly. The flavors were spot on. I inhaled them. I want them again, now. Overall, a lovely brunch. They didn’t chase us out when we finished our food too… and hey, I always appreciate that!

David’s Café but where is David? This cute little restaurant feels very homey and has a ambiance where you feel like you are walking into a family kitchen. There are not that many tables in here and they get filled quickly for brunch but the wait was not long for me. There are not many big tables here so if you are a group of more than 4 it might be difficult to get a seat quick so I would make a reservation. One thing you will notice is this place is extremely disorganized but the staff is very friendly so it makes up for it. When we got seated we ordered right away and got coffee & juice but had to send back some silverware because it was dirty. Ewww. The food came very quickly but they messed up one of the orders which was the Classic Benedict we asked for no hollandaise sauce on it and they waitress confirmed it but the kitchen messed up. Where they made up for it is they were able to get us a new one right away without the hollandaise. I got the farmers omelet which was very good with the mixture of cheddar cheese, mushroom, and chives mixed really well. All together we thought the quality of the food was very good the coffee was strong and my juice was fresh squeezed and delicious. In short: — Delicious food — fast friendly service — very disorganized

Delicious food, friendly service, enjoyable atmosphere. Food is definitely the highlight. Fresh, tasty ingredients fill the menu at this French-infused new American cafè. I had the fluke tartare(really really good), fish and chips(decent but not amazing — portion size on the fish is small although the batter and actual fish are really good), and the steak frites(very tasty and sizeable portion considering the price although the beef could’ve been a bit more tender). Nice wine and selection too. Didn’t have a chance to do dessert. Waitstaff was very friendly and welcoming though a bit overstretched given the number of guests in the restaurant — service was prompt although I’m sure it’d be better with just 1 more person on the floor. Restaurant is cozy and the communal tables are a nice touch although it did get rather loud at times. Overall a wonderful restaurant that I’ll surely being going back to soon!

Great food, great ambience, great deals. Came here before a show to grab dinner and they had happy hour drink specials until 7pm which was great(pitchers wine/beer ~$ 25) The food was impeccable: Salmon entrée:(4⁄5) tender, delicate fish over the most delightful cauliflower purée ½ Chicken entrée:(5⁄5) hands down the best of the night. Tender, juicy and so flavorful it left you drooling for more Burger: served medium only — thin patty didn’t have a chance to taste it but feedback was all positive Sides Ramen mac and cheese 2⁄5 not really much but a dish of ramen with some cheese Brussel sprouts 5⁄5 crispy and delish

My friend and I stumbled upon David’s café after walking out of a bar next door because we were hungry. Décor and vibe were great. Warm greetings as soon we entered. Casual setting. I ordered the mussels. They were great, but there wasn’t enough sauce. The sauce was so good, but I wish I had more because — I would of enjoyed my meal more. My friend ordered the chicken which was great. It was so moist and FULL of flavor. We shared the Ramon Mac and cheese which we both weren’t a fan of. The concept was awesome, but it wasn’t what I wished and hope for. It was very bland. At the end we ordered the chocolate dessert, which was ok. Could of went without it. Over all good experience.

Came here last week for my work holiday party and had a great time! The food was absolutely amazing and the bartenders made outstanding drinks! The crab cakes were the best I’ve ever had and the salmon was insanely good. Even the French fries were exceptional! Staff was great and so accommodating to our group. Décor is rustic and cozy. Can’t wait to come back!

Wandered in here in a desperation move to find something to eat in the area, just as it started to rain. We walked in, were greeted by a friendly manager. We sat down, and they quickly took our order. I got a GREAT hamburger along with a ramen version of mac and cheese. Along with a nice glass of red wine and I call this place a hit! I will definitely go back next time I am in the neighborhood.

So apparently this is one of the new kids on the brunch block — across the road from Café Mogador(which is a must try if you haven’t already been) so there’s some stiff competition. I wasn’t sure what to expect but I was very impressed with the service and the quality of the food for the price. Their brunch menus from what I remember cap at $ 14 and includes an OJ or coffee. I ordered the smoked salmon eggs Benedict which was poached to perfection. Their home fries/wedges are pretty damn good too. One thing I couldn’t figure out was where this was a French or Québécois restaurant… because I saw poutine on the menu somewhere. I want to come back to try their French toast as they fold bananas into the bread. YUM!

Happened upon here on a random stroll while hungry and thirsty. This place is super cute. It looks like a diner, but it’s rustic French cuisine, that’s homemade, delicious, and sweet. Ricotta toast, fluke ceviche, and chicken on a brick were great. I usually don’t order chicken at restaurant, but this was juicy and probably one of the best chicken’s I’ve had in a long time… or ever?! French fries could be improved – wish the blue cheese fries had bits of real blue cheese crumbled on. Wines are great. Not a lot of brews Friendly service, delicious food, casual atmosphere – a gem in the village!

What an amazing experience. Great food with an unbelievably great mix on French and American cuisines. The fluke tartare is insane! We had an opportunity to sample pretty much on the menu and everything was amazing. I will definitely be back. Don’t miss this one. You will not be disappointed.

I went to David’s Café for a friends birthday brunch and I was totally impressed by this restaurant. The staff didn’t miss a beat. So welcoming and on top of their game. They were so friendly they almost became more like guests of the party! The décor makes you feel like your dining at a trendy café in Paris. Very detail oriented… love the Polaroids of customers having an amazing time up on the wall. Now the food: When I walked in they took my coat and handed me a prosecco with raspberry and rosemary that was incredible. I suggest you get one! The entire party was enamored by them :) They had the bar set up with pâté, crepes, oysters, cheeses, lox and scallion cream cheese, etc!!! The Pâté and Oysters were crazy good! Such an awesome spread to walk into! For the sit down portion of the meal we had pasta with sausage, eggs Benedict, salad, croissants(plain and chocolate), baguettes with butter and varieties of jams, etc! It was one of the best meals I have had in the city!!! Get over there ASAP!

Having only been open a week or so, this place was totally on point. The pancakes at brunch are about the best you can have – scented with orange blossom and light as air – sublime. The poutine was unlike any I’d had before. It was much lighter, but beyond flavorful. The crab cakes Benedict were no joke deliciousness, chock full of crabbiness, creamy and pure with light, zippy sauce. The beverage offerings were surprising given the size of the place. High end, low markup quality wines and a beer lost to satisfy the beer geeks(KOLSCH)! All in all, clearly this is a chef driven resto which seems like it’s been open for months not weeks. Get here before the press and you’ll thank me. A+++

You would not expect this place to be so amazing from the simple throwback décor seen from the street but If i could give this place 6 stars I would. From the service to the care of the meals, David’s café exceeded all of my expectations. I started with the Ricotta toast which was a delicious piece of handcrafted bread and high quality cheese. The arugula gave it a citrusy and refreshing flavor. I highly recommended. The mushroom cappuccino soup was not only unique but a well balance mixture of rich and creamy. The baked salmon melted in my mouth and hazelnuts with cauliflower created the perfect textured sensation. This place was incredible surprise.

Charming new café with innovative French inspired dishes. I think of it as French comfort food. I recommend the forest risotto and slowly baked salmon. My friends raved about the pasta and sausage. They don’t serve hard liquor but have a good selection of other alcoholic beverages. I liked the French cider. It has the feel of a Left Bank hole in the wall. Very romantic and good music. P
