Awesome hair cut. But the receptionist ruined it for me. She acted like I was trespassing when I came in. So cold and unwelcoming. I came back to leave a generous tip for my stylist (cuz it’s cash tip only) and she practically rolled her eyes. I don’t think I’ll be coming back here because of her.

It is pretty unfortunate that this place does not know how to keep a loyal customer, or one thing about customer service.
I had been going to De Lido hair salon for about a year, and on average go for a blowout once a week. Please do the math folks– once a week blowout at $ 30 plus tips and tipping shampoo girl, I pay a pretty penny.
I agree with all the other reviews. however, I found one stylist that I liked and was pleasant enough.
Anyhow, I have on occasion been charged different amounts. Sometimes $ 30 and then they started charging me more to put in extensions. I didn’t mind paying a little more for the application of clip on extensions. but every time it was different $.
On my last visit… I came in and specifically wanted the extensions clipped in the back. However after an hour had gone by, I just didn’t have the time anymore to wait. The stylist started about 10 mins later than my appointment and had just made my blowout within an hour. I only get an hour for a lunch break.
So I told her I can’t wait around for the extensions.
When I go to pay. the reception charges me $ 36. Normally it is $ 31. So I say why am I being charged $ 5 more? She says its because the stylist curled my extensions. Um. I didn’t want my extensions curled IF THEY WEREN“T BEING CLIPPED IN.
I tried to explain to the girl, that the charge was unjust. I would gladly had paid an extra 5 – 10 if she successfully applied the extensions. but for them to just sit in my bag. Does this make sense to anyone?
I can easily brush and curl my own extensions. what I’m bringing them into the store for is for you to put them into the back of my hair? that I can’t reach. lol. the fact that she fought with me over $ 5.00 after she sees me in the store pretty much once a week always paying. is just RUDE and not good customer service. I won’t be back. there are too many places that treat their regulars much better. I literally had to go somewhere else where another woman brushed out the extensions and had to re curl them. Again why should I pay for the extensions to sit in my bag?.

I came here once before and the guy who did my hair was awesome. Today I had an awful experience. I came in hee for a fast blow out, and the woman who did my hair was incredibly rude. I walked in and was told to go to the back for a wash. The whole time the person who was assigned to do my hair kept looking at me rather strangely, but I just brushed it off. When she started coming my hair, she kept huffing and puffing about how she can’t comb my hair and yadda yadda and in all honesty it wasn’t that bad. I have naturally curly hair so my hair tends to tangle very easily. She then tells me she has to put conditioner in my hair to comb it and I said ok whatever. so she begins to do that and keeps complaining about my hair to another co stylist in front of me. That type of behavior and unaccpetable and rude. I told her if she has a problem doing my hair I don’t mind having one of her other collegues do my hair. That just made it worse. She said I need to have patience «for my type of hair». Had this been a saturday I would have walked out, but since its a wednesday and I was on my lunch break, I had no choice but to let her do my hair. She was just awful! Avoid this place like the plague. I rather pay $ 45 bucks and go to dry bar.

This is a terrible place there is a little guy that works there who is very condescending and rude. I think he should be fired if not they will lose all their customers. He needs to slap himself on the face every morning before going to work in order to unleash his power trip on himself instead on the customers.

I have been going to De Lido regularly for haircuts for nearly ten years. Julia does a fantastic job! I have curly hair and it was difficult to find someone who could handle my hair — Julia has given me a perfect haircut every time I see her. I have trusted her with my hair and appearance for everything from my wedding to job interviews and travel, and I have never been disappointed. Everybody is very pleasant and friendly and the location is beautifully decorated. As a man, I look forward to the upcoming addition of a mani/​pedi area that I can easily add to my haircut appointment.
If you’re looking for knowledgable, friendly people who care and take pride in their work, this is the place for you. Julia and the other stylists will help you look your best ;-)

Guys– do NOT allow your girl to come here. Overcharged, wrong style, extremely rude staff talking about you in another language the whole time & rushing your service… even though the girl was reading a magazine in her own chair when we arrived. Barely exchanged words with my girl, gave her the wrong style even though my girl protested throughout. and then overcharged her by $ 20 from the amount quoted by phone when booking the appointment. And now I get to hear ALL ABOUT IT, while helpless to rectify the situation. Guess this is New York for ya. Will NOT return.

Wow! Visiting from LA, had a wedding to go to, so I picked this salon thru Unilocal and brought 2 others with me. Our hair came our amazing !!! I would defiantly recommend them, BEST BLOW DRY EVER! Got cuts also and we all loved our hair! The prices were great! Great spot

Great hair salon! Close to work and always accepts walk-​ins. Ask for Julia for blowouts. I have thick, curly hair and I have never seen anyone able to it in as short a time as her.

Went in for a blow dry. The sign said $ 25. I walked in to confirm that was the price for me (I have long wavy hair. About 1 inch below shoulder). They confirmed $ 25.
When I was done, they rang me up for $ 30. I asked if that was tax and the lady said no, she had to charge me for long hair.
Huh? I’m pretty sure my hair did not change from the minute I walked in to walking out. It was dishonest.
They played loud terrible music (the dance music requires decent speakers to pump such base).
I will say the stylist did her job pretty quickly and was a good blow dry but the way the bait and switch on pricing was handled by the lady at the counter wasn’t cool.
It’s not much money so really I didn’t fight it in the shop but I am still taking the time to review in case you were to walk in for something that was more expensive (color…) and last minute they switched it on you.

Great Hair Salon! It’s close to my work so I always pop in for a hair cut! Alex and Kate are a MUST! Clean!
Only problem is everyone speak Russian!

If you are going to go, do yourself a favor and ask for Kate. She’s the only cute one in the place and she did a good job on my coloring.
My complaint was paying one price the first time and then a higher price for the same thing the next visit. When I questioned the $ 30 difference the receptionist starting YELLING in Russian and slammed her fist on the desk. I paid the extra and will NEVER RETURN.

Worst haircut I have ever had in my life.
When your summoned to have you hair washed before meeting your hair dresser it’s a red flag, no conversation during the haircut, was not asked if I wanted to have a beverage, lack of any real customer engagement. Do not go here. My hair is so short now I’ll be staying in all weekend.

We were in NY visiting. My daughter wanted her hair done. We stumbled across this place on a Sunday which most salons are closed. We told the lady (Julia) the style she wanted and she did an excellent job. Very friendly and looks like they have a great rapport with their customers. We would definitely go back if we lived in NY! 5 Stars! Thanks De Lido

I was out and about in the city when I realized I was not going to make my hair appointment all the way back in Brooklyn! I needed a haircut in the worst way and I trust only two stylists with my hair. Then I came across De Lido. It was a modest establishment which looked fairly busy. I took my chances and walked in. I was greeted by a beautiful girl who knew right away I did not have an appointment. Not a problem! I took a seat in their black leather love seats and admired the minimal but modern design. Ten minutes pass and a male Asian stylist, welcomes me and introduces himself. I can see that Wing is stylish and fashionable so my nervous level dissipates. I begin to describe what I want I was and Wing interjects and tells me how I’ll style it. Bulls-​eye! And like any real stylist, he incorporated his artistic creativity which I embraced and was excited about. Wing was personable, fun and professional. Before I knew it, he was done and I was extremely satisfied. All the stylists and even some of the clientele gave me compliments on my haircut.
Now I have 3 stylists I trust with my hair!

I felt like I was in Russia; every employee here is from there and seem to speak limited English…
The girl (can’t remember her name, but sounds like Kathiana or something) was friendly and very to the point; basically all she asked was «what do you like?» after I explained to here what I was looking for she went ahead and started cutting… I got a very fast and surprisingly well done hair cut.
I would go back if I were staying in NYC…

I have been going to De Lido Salon for almost 4 years and I’m a huge fan… Kate does the most amazing blowouts, great haircuts, and she is an expert at my highlights. I get compliments ALL THE TIME! You know your highlights are good when a fellow blonde stops you on the street and compliments you. I can’t say enough great things about Kate, she is marvelous and I love her! She is such a sweetie too.
Prices here are so reasonable…$ 30 for blowout, $ 50 for cut and blowout, and $ 125 for partial head highlights.
This is a no-​frills salon. So if you’re looking for a ton of pampering, this is not your place. But if you’re looking for a really great hairstylist, at very reasonable prices, this is it!
Seems like they are running specials here pretty often, so go try them out!
