Delmonico Gourmet Food Market

Came here for the first time today. Was very excited to find out that there is a delmonico next to my new job after being heir customer at east 59^th for almost two decades. This place is nothing like the other the location. My steak buritto looked and tasted completely different. It wasnt bad but the other location was so much better.
Will be back to try other things.

Best place for a meal or a snack without waiter service. Breakfast selection is unending. At lunch the fish dishes are the finest in the neighborhood.
If you are looking for variety, look no further.

I just paid $ 7+ for a naked juice. Mark up much??? I wanted to tell her never mind and put it back but they rush you at the register as if they closed 15mins ago and they’re waiting on you to leave to go home. I guess just stick to the $ 3 bagels and coffee.

That Ramen is Bomb Diggity. Extra Spicy Beef Ramen with an Egg for $ 6.95, what!!! Expect to wait in abt a 5 min line, but totally worth it. Pro Tip: Ask for a piece of bread a checkout

Don’t let the lines and crazy people scare you away. This is one of the better breakfast spots in the area. They get your order right and the prices are consistent. The breakfast buffet is clean and always stocked. I stick with the Omelet, home fries and toast, just make sure you ask for toast with extra butter unless you want it dry.

This place is busy as all hell. Not once have I tried to enter without bumping several people along the way (maybe that’s more suggestive to my ability to walk in crowded spaces). In any case, their hot bar is OK– their cold salad bar I find to be tastier. They can get a tad pricey if you’re not conscious. A fairly regular stop on my way into work. Saves my morning when I barely have the time to grab my coffee, let alone eat.

Delmonico’s is attached to my office building and there’s even an entrance where you can enter without going outside. I’ve been once before to grab a quick coffee before work, but I’ve heard a bunch of mixed things from people in my office. It’s definitely convenient, but wouldn’t necessarily be my first choice.
Yesterday I decided I wanted a breakfast sandwich and figured I’d try it out. I went inside and the place was chaos. I found the area where eggs are made and waited. There was no form of line and everyone was standing around had to ask quite a few people if they had already ordered. I went ahead and went to the front ordered a bacon, egg and cheese. I figured that was the easiest thing because they were making a ton of them. A few minutes later other people ordered the same thing. The man serving gave them their sandwiches first and I went up and mentioned that I hadn’t gotten mine. I finally got mine after many people had gotten theirs before me.
It was a bit pricey as well. The sandwich came to $ 4.30 and I believe that’s more than most places. When I got upstairs after waiting quite awhile for the sandwich… There wasn’t any cheese on the sandwich. I was very angry. The sandwich itself was decent, but this place needs to get it together. I’ll be heading to the deli on the corner next time. Can’t deal with this unorganized chaos in the morning.

The bad — It’s a little pricey.
The good — the food is pretty good. Although, crowded the lines move quickly. They have several options to choose from.
The better — After 4 the prices reduced. This is great if you are working late or picking up something before heading home.

The good: $ 2 large hot coffee & $ 2.25 large iced coffee will satisfy any coffee addict. They also have a variety of flavors, including Vanilla Almond and Blueberry.
The great: Half off ($ 5/​lb instead of $ 10) buffet from 4−7pm is a godsend for anyone working late around the Grand Central area. They have a good mix of cold (salad type items) and hot (different protein options, including fish) selections.
The amazing: Delicious, giant $ 5 omelets (with the option of getting egg whites for those wanting to eat healthy) that will fill you up for the day.
There is a bit of a line here during the morning rush, but it moves fast due to their extreme efficiency. Also, their manager (owner?) is super friendly, so you can expect good convo as you’re waiting. Extra plus for me — it’s in my building :)

It’s in my office building, so it’s my go-​to on rainy or freezing days. But Everyday Gourmet across the street is actually better. But for their half-​off-​after-​4pm deal, it’s not a good deal. Not sure why there’s been a growing number of recent high rated reviews for this place, but the place hasn’t really changed much. The manager is lovely — greets everyone and is there to manage everyone efficiently. It’s a zoo in there during lunch time, but the line moves quickly.
The hot buffet food isn’t all that great — there’s where Everyday Gourmet gets my vote. They do have a salad bar, sandwich, udon/​ramen bar, cold/​hot buffet areas, and two separate dining areas, but the price for e.g., udon is overpriced. I get it — the location, right? But I can’t help comparing it to whatever’s across the street and saying. what about them?
I’d much rather pay an extra $ 1 – 2 per pound and go to 6b actually. One thing I’d like to see LESS is people nibbling at the buffet areas. Just last Friday, I was in line at around 4:30pm. There was that half-​off rush and a huge line was formed. One guy in a black suit actually ate the entire box of food he got, threw it out, and left. What, are the rest of us idiots?

Fast, convenient, and reliable. Never had a bad experience. The bagels are ok but the omelette station is on point. Come after 4pm for half off the hot/​cold bar.

I love this place for breakfast before running into work. The omelette station is where it’s at for me. A 3 egg omelette with tons of veggies and cheese, potatoes and toast for $ 5 is pretty insane in NYC. I typically eat a really healthy breakfast, so I usually order 2 egg whites and 1 whole egg with spinach, mushrooms, scallions, broccoli and 1 piece of swiss cheese and turkey — I skip the potatoes and get 1 piece of toast instead of two. Most people will add bacon, ham, etc. and their favorite cheese. You can opt to have it cooked with butter, but I just ask for a little PAM. All this needs is a little hot sauce and it’s perfect.
One other thing I want to add is that Paul (the manager/​owner) is probably the nicest guy. Every morning he is by the coffees saying «good morning» as people come in and thanking them as they leave. This is unheard of in NYC — people are in a hurry and no one stops to exchange pleasantries. I also asked him once if he had more almond milk in stock as I use the small cartons to make smoothies at work and every time he sees me he will say «I got your almond milk in the fridge for you!» or sometimes «we’re out of almond milk today, but more tomorrow.» It’s not a big gesture, but it’s one that I always notice and it’s what keeps me coming back!

This is usually my first choice for lunch. Yes, a little pricey for some of the items but overall not bad and definitely great quality.
I highly recommend the udon noodle soup– it’s huge and for only $ 7, you get udon, choice pf protein– beef, chicken, or shrimp, delicious (not for ppl watching sodium) broth, and all the veggies you can want including Kimchi.
Salad bar is delicious but expensive (can be around 11 – 12 $ for decent amount) and has all kinds of goodies from fresh capri salad to plain lettuce, and even sushi. Their sushi bar has quinoa sushi now!
I also recommend their chunky gazpacho soup, chicken burritos and sandwiches. You really can’t go wrong!

I work in Midtown and this is a go to lunch spot for my whole office. Best price on salads in the area (a salad is a salad) I haven’t tried everything they offer but I’ve had just about every type of food they have. They offer wraps, sandwiches, salads, hot/​cold buffet, Raman, sushi and my favorite quesadillas.
The quesadillas are stuffed. I’m a 24 yr old guy around 190lbs and they do the job. The spicy chicken is the top choice. Rice, chicken, Guac, pico, black beans and jalapeño.
Also 4−7pm is half off the buffet. Sometimes I’ll just get a nice bagel mid morning and just hold off until 4 and get my fix.

It’s official I’ve become obsessed with this place, frequenting it a minimum of 3x a week. From the variety of options, to the service, to how FAST the employees hustle during the peak hours (just before work and during lunch, obviously), this upscale deli is AWESOME.
Paul is cool too, you can find him greeting everyone with a «Good Morning!» by the coffees. And speaking of the coffees… CHOCOLATE RASPBERRY FOR THE WIN! $ 2 bucks for the largest size. Oh, and they are on the Belly app, get points, get free shiznit.

I have lunch here whenever I work in the city and I love it. Such a good variety of foods. The pasta station is my fave. You can choose your pasta, sauce, meat and add ins for $ 8. I get really creative sometimes lol!
You also get a really big sandwich that I always share with one of my co workers. The manager of the sandwich station is always so pleasant and complimentary.
I’ll continue to have lunch here at least once a week.

I love Delmonico’s because they have my preferred flavor of coffee (Chocolate Raspberry), a good selection of food (including an oatmeal bar of the gods), and they are all morning people!
I rarely cheat on them in the mornings, mostly because of how pleasant, efficient, and convenient the place is.

Delmonico Gourmet Foods is a pretty decent option for breakfast and lunch for the immediate area. It is located at the corner of 42^nd Street on Lexington Avenue. Very quick service during the rush hours especially in the morning. It is a very spacious venue for it is very neatly layout with different stations like salad, coffee, buffet, and etc. There is even a dining area for customers. Not too bad.
I did like the huge variety of breakfast options. I like their freshly brew French Vanilla coffee in the morning. Breakfast platters are very inexpensive in general. There are many choices of bagel and cream cheese spreads. To order, just ask one of the guys behind the counter. There is almost always a line but it is pretty quick. I typically like breakfast sandwiches in general, however, the Bacon Egg on a Roll sandwich here is by far the saddest version I ever had. The roll was very small in size, eggs, and bacon are overly too hard dry. Just imagine biting into the sandwich and having to yank the sandwich away from you to break apart that bite of bacon. Yup, that was me. True story.
Lunch buffet is decent. There are the usual buffet food items such as fried dumplings, salads, and meats are present. They are alright. One thing worth noting is that they have Mediteranean spreads like hummus and baba ganoush (eggplant dip)! That’s pretty awesome!
Overall, I would say it is a bargain spot especially for the area.

Came in for lunch today and got the make your own pasta which was delicious and a really good deal at 8.45 where they allowed a ton of toppings! It is a steal and the food tasted amazing.
My one area of concern was that after I had already started my order, I noticed that the person manning the station used the tongs to get chicken and then put the same tongs into the broccoli. I had noticed when he usually got a meat product he’d use different tongs to grab vegetables before I saw this occurring, so I thought that was just the general policy but obviously not. As a vegetarian, this really bothered me. That being said, outside of this situation, they have great service and everyone that works there is super nice. If you don’t really care about meat mixing with veggies enjoy, but for me, I think I’ll be there for other things.

This is my go to spot for breakfast and lunch on the days I’m in the office.
They have a huge selection, the food is fresh, and most things are decently priced.
My favorite is the omelette station for breakfast and salad station for lunch.
Many healthy options as well, woooohooo.
The staff is cool and move the lines fast. The bagel guy is great, always full of energy.

Wir waren einmal während unseres NYC Aufenthalts hier und fanden es beide echt super. Ich hatte verschiedene Sachen vom Buffet und dazu eine Limo. Leider weiß ich nicht mehr, was ich alles hatte… aber ich erinnere mich, dass alles sehr frisch und lecker war und preislich unter 10 $ lag.
Es war gerade Mittagszeit, also war der Laden ziemlich voll, trotzdem ging es an der Kasse schnell voran und einen Platz zum Sitzen bekamen wir auch.
Wären wir noch einmal in der Nähe gewesen, hätten wir garantiert nochmal dort gegessen. Bei meinem nächsten NYC Besuch auf jeden Fall wieder.
