I love this place. The food is delicious and the owner and everybody working there are super nice!

It’s hard to find a healthy spot to eat in Harlem but destiny’s is my go to spot. The super friendly staff are always very polite and helpful. I usually get the east Harlem and the ¼ or ½ chicken. They have a secret jerk sauce that’s awesome on the side. They also got great fresh juice at a reasonable price. Other places will charge close to $ 10 for a fresh 12oz juice but here it’s about half that. When I’m in town, I’m there several times a week.

I literally can’t fathom how this place is still open. The number when you call always says unavailable and although my office is on w 118th a delivery takes over an hour!

The rotisserie chicken is delicious! Tons of flavor, juicy with such a crispy skin. They really got the seasoning right and however they roast it is def working. I used to be a vegetarian and still do not eat a lot of meat, but this chicken gets me every time. I have been in the neighborhood for years and this place was a hit or miss, but for the past few months it really has turned around with staff and feeling like a perfect neighborhood spot now.

I was contacted by Jared the kitchen manager regarding my first experience. He was very apologetic for what happened and invited me back so that he could show me what Destiny’s was truly about. He made me a roasted turkey club with avocado, cheddar, and bacon and I must say it was absolutely delicious.

After many visits to Destiny, it is apparent that it is amateur hour at this eatery. I appreciate and respect the staff’s enthusiasm each time I’ve ordered from here, but those efforts are destroyed by operational problems, mediocrity of food, small portions, and high prices. I’ve tried overlook previous issues I’ve encountered when ordering from this place(to include lack of inventory necessary to make an item on the menu, inconsistent hours, differences between the menus available on paper vs online vs in-store, and an inattentive kitchen) but the finished product has never justified the issues. A $ 9 sandwich should be easy to order, correctly made with fresh ingredients, ample, and probably come with a side of chips… Destiny’s does not. I’ve done my best to support a local establishment, but they make it too difficult and not worth the effort. You will do better to toast up some bread from your kitchen, and make a tuna sandwich at home.

I’m not sure why I bothered to try this place again after my initial lackluster experience last summer. I was craving something different and remembered their focaccia bread and rotisserie chicken tasting quite good. The staff was clearly unenthusiastic and didn’t know answers to any of my questions. It’s clear there’s an issue with management. Onto the food… I ordered the Destiny Sandwich which is supposed to come on «homemade focaccia» with rotisserie chicken, spinach, and a garlic spread. The portions are small for $ 8.50 and the bread was a regular deli hero roll. Disappointing. I also ordered the Fat Fighter Juice which was to say the least, disgusting. I had to add store bought orange juice to drink it. I’ll stick to the natural foods stores nearby. All in all, staff plagued by ennui, management untrained, food ingredients listed incorrectly. I wanted to like this place but I can’t. 1 star for the chicken!

I ate here for the first time today and I will most definitely be back for 3 reasons: 1. Customer Service/STAFF — I was very impressed with how polite and attentive the staff are. Simple customer service and politeness goes a long way. 2. Communication — I couldn’t help but to overhear how well the staff communicated with each other even if there was a misunderstanding. I believe the manager or owner was there overseeing things and listening to him check in and explain things to his staff in a supportive way was great. 3. FOOD –I listed this last because I noticed 1&2 while I was waiting to get my delicious Destiny on Focaccia. I loved the flavor especial the garlic aioli(yummers). My only tip would be to make sure the bread is nice and hot all the way through. Other than that, I can’t wait to try more eats from here. Keep up the good work guys!

A hidden gem in Harlem! Food is great and I cannot raving about it. Everyone I have recommended to come by and enjoy a good meal served with a smile has been satisfied and the chain of recommendations continues. They get busy at times so be patient– it is worth the wait. To rotisserie chicken to freshly squeezed juices, you have a wide variety to accommodate your appetite. It’s small and cozy and doesn’t hold many inside, but this should tell you something good is going on if it’s crowded a lot of times. Please stop by and enjoy what Destiny’s has to offer! Don’t leave without trying the rotisserie chicken and chicken soup which I’m currently having right now.

The food here is very fresh and delicious. The portion sizes are on point and the taste even better. I come here for the kale salads and grilled cheese. I don’t eat chicken but hear very good things about it. The staff members are cool and they just remodeled. Check them out! You won’t regret it.

This place is what makes me love my neighborhood! The chicken is SO good. They are not lying. The owners are super friendly and make you feel like a regular your first time. I get the rice and the roasted veggies as sides; obviously the chicken is the star. It isn’t fast service, as some Unilocalers have mentioned. I think if you tell them you are in a hurry they will oblige, otherwise, this place reminds me why would I be in such a rush in the first place? Stop and smell the roses people. That being said, the sign could use a makeover.

There’s new ownership, and I’m not sure if they are still working through the kinks. Ordered the orange, ginger and carrot juice, and it was just too thick and full with pulp — undrinkable. A whole rotisserie chicken was fairly moist and fine, but the skin is not as crisp as the previous owner, nor do they offer to slice the chicken up anymore. Good if you’re in a pinch, but could be better.

Never again with this place, ever. Sunday, 6:30PM — order the ½ chicken meal with 2 sides and a salad to go. All their sides look pretty dry and old, but I chose cilantro rice and pesto Mac and cheese. The guy behind the counter tells me it will be about 20 mins for the Mac and cheese. I don’t want any of their other sides so decide to wait. It’s Sunday so I’m not in a hurry. Close to a half hour later, after having heard the guy and girl talk about«who they’re talking too,» there’s still no Mac and cheese. I ask them to check and they say 10 more minutes. I tell them that it needs to get done now because I’ve already waited almost half an hour. About 2 minutes later the guy tells me the stove broke down and they don’t have Mac and cheese. At this point I’m livid and want to get out of there as quick as possible. I ask for another order of rice so I can leave. Then I find that the girl behind the counter packed my order ½ and hour ago so the hot items are cold, AND she packed the salad in the same paper bag as the hot rice. What in the no-common-sense is going on there?! I pull out the salad and the guy remakes it. I ask for a hot rotisserie chicken and the guy does get me another one. I appreciate that he tried to fix it after both the kitchen and the girl messed up pretty epically. But there’s plenty of good food choices in the area that also deliver. And the chicken is absolutely nothing to write home about. I’m never coming back to Destiny’s and definitely telling my friends not to bother.

When this place opened up in my neighborhood, I was ecstatic! And given that there aren’t so many juice bars in Harlem, I wanted to come a few times before writing a full review. Unfortunately, after coming here regularly on and off, one word pretty much sums everything up: it’s okay. The food is solid, but the service is horrible. On an average week night, you have to wait about 15 – 20 minutes for takeout. I would highly recommend this for seamless. If you need something to go quickly, there are better options, like Orange Peel on Manhattan Ave.

I really WANTED to love this place. With no other good smoothie spot in Harlem, I was excited when this opened HOWEVER, every time I attempt to purchase a smoothie or egg sandwich, the service is VERY slow and DISORGANIZED. Get a system going, get the customers in and out and then, I’ll be back.

I love this place. The food and juices are amazing! Don’t let the prices scare you, there’s no nonsense here. I’ve gone to sip a juice after hitting the gym w the girls, and for a little qt by myself after work.(They have a little bar with stools, so NOT a date spot.) CONS: Small space, can get crowded easily. Long waits, it took over an hour for two sandwiches that were literally going across the street for delivery(granted, it was after 1pm, the lunch rush). Some of the staff could use serious customer service training. The space is small, so you can hear every side conversation from the staff and some of it was VERY inappropriate. They also need formal training on their menu. The person at the counter didn’t understand that there’s more than one way to add an egg to a sandwich and our delivery was incomplete. Don’t get me wrong, I DOLOOKFORWARDTOEATINGHEREAGAIN because this little place has GREAT potential. I understand with every new business there are some growing pains. The food and drinks are good enough for me to see it through! See you soon! PS: ADDVEGETARIANORVEGANPROTEINOPTION and PUMPERNICKLE! PPS: SISCOISAWESOME!(the manager there is so on top of everything and super friendly!)

Destiny’s is the best sandwich and health juice bar in Harlem! Healthy alternative to a quick meal w/out spending a lot of money. I discovered Destiny’s during American Express’s Small Business week, and I’ve been eating there ever since. The food there is absolutely delicious but my personal favorites include the«all greens w/beets and wheatgrass», chicken rice wrap, and their PANCAKES! The Pancakes w/eggs & bacon is incredible. A really good spot.

Delicious chicken salad sandwiches, at a reasonable price! We also had the kale salad, which was fresh and a great portion size. Would definitely come back if I’m in the area! We made large seamless order(20 sandwiches and 3 salads) and it took them over an hour and 15 minutes because they were short a chef. They were gracious enough to offer us free coffee though!
