Diet Lite Ice-Cream

Like others have pointed out, there’s really not that many places around Union Square to get froyo or ice cream besides the trucks that are around the perimeter. As such this place is one of the few places you can walk into, although it’s really just a tiny bodega with a freezer in the back.
The guy working was super friendly and delightfully nice when he gave an extra large scoop. The options are limited compared to other places but what they have will satisfy the after dinner craving.
Overall a good place, for a good price that will give you a better option over the Mister Softee truck.

It’s a cheaper Tasti-​D, right in the heart of Union Square. This tiny, old, dingy newspaper/​magazine/​lotto/​ciggie convenience store has a small fro yo counter in the back with about 4 daily flavors, and the people that run the joint are super nice. The very airy, artificial yogurt does taste low-​cal and is definitely closer to Tasti-​D consistency and flavor than Pinkberry. I usually go for the small cup of peanut butter and chocolate for $ 2.50, and I’ve always found it refreshing. It’s the polar opposite of heavy ice cream, so if you’re a Ben and Jerry’s type, steer clear.

I will definitely remember you for that one night @ Union Square when I was searching for fresh fruit smoothies & magazines @ late hours… you were good to me. And even my fav rare chocolate bar — Toggi, too!

I love this place. Advice. Pay for your yogurt first to avoid the sporadic lines of lotto junkies and nicotine addicts. Trust me. You don’t wanna be done with the yogurt before you get outside. And yes, take napkin

Since there aren’t many ice cream joints in Union Square, this establishment/​deli has the market cornered with tasteless air diet ice cream.
The only reason I’ve been here is because of the monopoly this place has and the fact that my colleague loves this place. At times the frozen air is tolerable and has some flavor.
I also learned today that the machines are truely old and thus why the ice cream varies day to day.
