A solid healthier midtown lunch option. I usually get the standard small platter with a meat — braised beef is my favorite — but since I’m eating a plant based diet these days, I got the«Farmer’s Favorite» today. You can replace the meat with a 3rd veggie. The roasted sweet potatoes and kale with beets and horseradish were both great, but the cauliflower with preserved lemon was the highlight for me.

Nooo…:(this place has really deteriorated from a few years ago. I had to grab a quick lunch and got the braised beef, greens, cauliflower and Mac and cheese. Unfortunately, I had to throw out 80% of the contents(starving again a few hours later). I couldn’t even finish the mac and cheese which had tons of cheese and is so hard to mess up. There are so many other dining options on this block – even Pret would have been a better, cheaper and just as fast choice.

It pains me to say but this has to be my last meal here. Tonight asked for beef over brown rice. What I got was a small serving of inedible flavorless gristle. The rest of the meal(kale and carrots… how do you screw up carrots?) barely edible. So unsatisfied. I have loved this place since I discovered a few years back but it has gotten really really bad in the last 18 months. Two weeks ago while at work I had lunch in Tribeca at the location there and had to deal with a cashier who was a major bitch no other way to describe. Heavy set tons of attitude. She was bagging the meal and at the same time asking whether it was«for here or to go». When I asked to stay she literally threw the tray on the counter so hard the lid popped open. By pure luck(and stupidity on her part) the management saw the entire thing. So apologetic and embarrassed they gave me one of those free meal chips. Not that I will ever use it. I’m done with this dump.

I honestly could eat here every day. I’m biased because I’m a vegetarian and their offerings are fab! I’ve eaten tofu many different ways from many different places, but Dig Inn’s is by far the best. I also got my two meat-eating colleagues addicted. My large tofu plate with two sides only comes to $ 8.50 — bargain! Expect a line literally out the door and down the street but well worth the short wait.

Cafeteria-style metal buckets of food slopped into your tray before your eyes… What a way to begin a meal! The food tasted alright, but not great. The broccoli mixture tasted a lot like Chinese food broccoli from the food court mall. Two whatevs and a meh.

This location is far worse than other locations. I have ordered from here at work before… And it showed up looking like a disheveled mess and didn’t taste half as good as other locations. Today I walked to this location after work and got a plate only to realize it was the same location I had ordered from.

I love the food at Dig Inn and am a big fan of their Union Square location. This location, however, gets a low review for the crappy staff. The staff here is generally not very nice and they don’t have much patience for the customers. It makes the whole experience of buying food here frustrating. Also, there’s very little seating and the place is beyond packed during lunch hours. The location is tiny, so I guess this is understandable. The behavior of the staff is not.

Food — Awesome! Prices — Surprisingly Great! Customer Service — Awful The food is yummy! They also have several vegan options. It’s only a block away from MoMA, so I stopped by after a museum trip. I’ll definitely be back!

After trying Dig Inn multiple times, I realized I’m not a big fan of their meat; however, I love their veggies! I now just go for their sides(especially their Brussel sprouts and sweet potatoes) and skip the meat options all together. P. S. I’m not the biggest meat eater, so keep this in mind.

The portions are inconsistent. On a good day, you’ll get a nice helping of the items you want. On a bad day, you’ll get 2.5 meatballs and a half spoon of sweet potatoes which they deem as «large». Note to servers: Scoop the dang food. Note to customers: Delicious meal with a chance of missing meatballs. Note to servers and customers: Where the HELL is my beet in my kale & beet salad!!!

I really liked the food here! It was fresh, clean, simple and flavorful. Very nice healthy meal option. The way it works is you can pick a protein(or vegetarian option) with two sides of veggies and rice(or farro or other carb). I selected lemon chicken, brown rice and two salads — a japes salad and citrus salad. Everything was light and delicious and under $ 10. I wasn’t planning on having a big meal but wanted something hearty. I got this bowl thinking I would have leftovers for the next day… Well, it was too good for leftovers. I ate it all in one seating. The amazing thing was that I didn’t feel sick after. I usually feel pretty yucky if I eat more than I intend… This was light enough for me to feel fine. My only issues with the place are: 1. It’s tiny. Only 4 seats to dine in. Chances are — you have to take your food to go. 2. I haven’t experienced this yet because I was there around 5pm… But the place gets packed around lunch time. There is a line around the corner. Plan ahead. Overall, happy about discovering a new healthy gluten free option in midtown. Yay to that.

Healthy, fresh, delicious. Sometimes the line for lunch is out the door, but the line moves fast. My four-star breakdown: Space — Super small space. The four counter seats are prime real estate. Customer Service — Efficient and friendly. Five-Spice Meatballs — Nicely seasoned. I think they add a dash of chili flakes to their meatball mix, which gives it a little heat. I ordered it during my first visit, and I’ve been ordering it ever since. My only complaint would be that the regular order comes with two meatballs and the large order only comes with three meatballs. I like it when things are divisible by two, so four meatballs would be swell. Farro w/Butternut Squash — Too healthy for my liking(although the orange peel is a nice touch). I prefer brown rice. Charred Broccoli w/Meyer Lemon — Great pairing. This is one of my default sides. If you looking for healthy take-out, look no further. This is your spot.

I’m happy I decided to check this place out! It’s basically like healthy take-out food. I came here for lunch today and got the brown rice, braised beef, brussel sprouts and sweet potatoes. Yum! I got the«small plate» and it was around $ 10. The beef and rice were my favorite — really fresh and full of flavor. The beef was tender, which is great. I wasn’t a fan of the brussel sprouts… the taste just wasn’t special to me. I wouldn’t order them again. The sweet potatoes were very good. Overall, it was a decent experience and I will probably go back at some point.

I’m so happy I found this spot! I got the small lemon chicken w/brussel sprouts and kale+squash. It’s perfect for a relatively quick grab and go lunch. Don’t be intimidated by the long line that extends out the door – it goes by pretty quickly! For people who have been to/are from California, this is basically the east coast version of Lemonade. If you use LevelUp, you can get $ 5 off your first purchase! So I basically only paid $ 3 for my first meal.

I’m Digging Digg Inn for the Fresh, wholesome, healthy and delicious food offerings. Thus Far I’ve only ordered the small market plate with Chicken as a protein and its been perfectly seasoned each time and pairs well with any of their grains & hot /cold sides. Love the side of Fresh Guacamole too. This location is very small so eating in is never going to be an option for me but they do have 2 or 3 tight sitting spots and keep in mind all the ordering customers will be right on top of ya! Prices are kind of high in my opinion for portion sizes but food is delicious with Organic healthier choices so pay up!

Small… Ass…Storefront was my first thought. My second thought was where am I going to sit down and eat. Seating is provided for 4 people comfortably but only 3 of those seats are considered«comfortable». The service was fine. The ordering set-up is very similar in concept to Chipotle except smaller… way smaller. You choose your meat or non-meat followed by grains or rice and finish with 2 sides. I decided on a healthy meal so naturally I went all white meat chicken, quiche and kale. The chicken was okay in flavor. The kale was okay in flavor although a little saltier than I would have liked. The quiche was pretty good. It was tangy and slightly sweet. Then I saw a 2 cookie pack of Good Batch cookies. I chose the brown butter salty over chocolate chip. Thinking back, I regret that choice. All this for $ 14. If I was in the area again I might give them another shot. But I’d most likely skip them for something along the lines of Halal Guys or something else.

This is a nice option when you want a quick, healthy, and inexpensive meal. There’s surprisingly lots of room to sit down + an outdoor seating area. They are quite short-staffed on the weekend though, and ran out all of smoothies except the PB. The chicken is meh — I usually opt for the Veggie Platter or Meatballs. As for the sides, I love the tofu salad(sooo good, comes in a creamy, nutty sauce) and spicy siracha string beans. The cauliflower & chickpeas, spinach & mango, and sautéed greens with beets are all pretty good, too. Knocking off a star since the selection here is not as great as places like Roast. They also don’t allow you to add or mix any proteins, and you can only add extra sides in a separate container.
