Pros: They have wild salmon(although usually over-cooked) Cons: Customer service is terrible, except for most of the ladies Most of the guys are lazy, angry and stingy. There is one really nice guy but i didn’t see him today. Portions are stingy in general They desperately need better management behind the counter Just today, I had to say«salmon» FIVE times to THREE different people before getting served… and it was slow, hardly anyone there. Than I asked for a side of mac n’cheese. There was one small portion left – if that much. I considered waiting for a fresh pan to come out. My server, a dude with a baseball cap and glasses, scraped the bottom of the pan to achieve my miserable portion and left the appetizing single portion in the corner intact! Just to be an asshole? And then he told me to ask the cashier to get me a side of pesto(for my salmon). They don’t do that because they are ringing people up. I had already been through this situation before. He just didn’t want to do it. Very unpleasant. However, the lady that rang me up was perfectly lovely. The cashiers are always very sweet.

Went in for lunch and it was great. Plenty of options for cheap! I had the kale with carmelized onions, sweet potatoes with aioli sauce and the strawberry rhubarb salad and they were all great(the kale was a bit too salty but still good)

I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed Digg Inn before now, I’ve been coming here for a few years. I don’t go all the time but I’m always pleased when I do. I love how they have seasonal ingredients and you can mix and match them! The flavors are always great. The only downside is that you don’t know what they will have so if there aren’t many choices you like you might be unhappy. I’m a pretty flexible eater so I’m usually fine with whatever. I always go for the small veggie option here because at 6.50 it’s such a good deal! You get a base and 3 large sides. Today I got the farro/barley blend and some greens, then Mac and cheese, roasted sweet potatoes, and carrots for the sides. The aioli on the potatoes was so good! Mac and cheese is delicious too. My only complaint today was the lack of vegetarian proteins. Usually it seems like they have some kind of lentil or bean side, but not today. I almost got the tofu but it wouldn’t have been the cheap veggie order because they include that under the meats/proteins I guess. Anyways, there was so much food that I got filled up quickly and couldn’t even finish it. A bit carb heavy but the flavors were awesome. The servers are very quick at getting you to move the line along. It’s very similar to chipotle or subway.

Dig Inn RULES! I go in for lunch a lot and they’re very fast and efficient with getting you in and out! The first time I came in I was a little confused but the system is pretty much the same as Chipotle’s or any other cafeteria style thing. I usually get half greens half farro, with either chicken or salmon(if you get salmon you can add pesto! Wahoo!), and then for the side I’ll pick one of the salads and THEMACANDCHEESE. The mac and cheese kills. It’s so good. It’s up there in my favorite mac and cheeses in the city. You’ve gotta go for it. I’m also very into the ginger mint lemonade. The space is large and brightly lit with cute plants, and if you can get a spot close to the window you can look onto the park. The servers are always nice, and the whole process is very speedy. One note: they close from 3 – 4 every day to replenish the food. It’s a great spot for a quick lunch, highly recommend.

Soooooo delicious! I had a great experience at Dig Inn today. I didn’t really understand their concept, probably due to my own stupidity, but the employees were so helpful and patient. A very glib definition of DI would be a high end per the pound hot buffet but instead of gross customers slobbering all of the food, it’s served to you by lovely staff. They offer salmon, steak, chicken and tofu as proteins and a bunch of fancy sides. Everything is prepared is a unique shee-shee way. Like the cauliflower for instance, has raisins. But it’s delicious raisin-cauliflower. They charge $ 1 for tap water, but it’s ginger infused. I mean… I guess. Today, my flagship visit, I opted for flank steak, farro, sautéed kale and sweet potatoes with aioli. Everything was sooooo delicious! It was so much food — total gourmet style, for $ 13 measly dollars. The seating was ample, the restrooms were clean, the service was warm and the food was excellent. What a lovely lunch spot to bring to the park, back home or dine in. Win.

Cafeteria proficiency, clean sourcing and simply scrumptious flavors. Gotta love it when a lunch counter obliterates the queue with something more than a box of lettuce. Dig Inn has a dead basic approach to the food pyramid: protein and grain, two sides(seasonal veggie forward, but don’t worry comfort seekers, there’s a dampens fine mac & chee), and a rubber-banded lid to your out the door meal. «I like the salmon, and the Uptown Mac is bomb» said Christina. «Brussels are always a good choice,» added Drewgins. Thanks kids, you nailed it. Wild sockeye salmon over farro, dem noodles and cheese with a toasted crumb topping, and the limited availability roasted Brussels. Big ups to ‘gins for another tip: house made hot sauce is offered on request. Vegans, veggies and the gluten-averse have their options. The limited menu is prepped in bulk, so your meal is ready before you’re done ordering it, and a filling plate runs around $ 12. Rock solid eats on the fly.

Won’t be eating here(23rdStLocation) again until management and hygiene has improved. Found a long hair in the food last night and a coworker found hair a couple weeks ago. Two times is too many for me. SERVICE — Half of the servers are very nice and knowledgeable, the other half are rude and slopping proportions into the plates in a way that makes you feel uneasy about how they handle food. The other day a server shelled an avocado and placed it on my tray face down… at first I thought they just didn’t know there was a method, but then when I got back to work and turned it over, the other side was brown and obviously overripe… it made me pretty angry that a server would intentionally disguise the quality of the food they are distributing. FOOD — the taste and quality varies day to day… there are days when it seems this is literally the best of all Dig Inn’s in terms of flavor and balance other days the sweet potato is over cooked, they are out of brown rice by 2pm, the tofu is way too salty, kale tastes«old», etc. The inconsistency is another reason I’m choosing other locations for my meals. MANAGEMENT — this is probably the source of where these issues are stemming from. Midday there are always too many servers and no communication… they will be running out of something in the front and behind them will be 3 people who are doing nothing pertinent to refill the trays, there is no system and no one ever seems to know who’s «turn» it is to take an order so you will often be standing there for a while before a server approaches you. In the evenings closing is at 10pm, but 8/9pm they treat you like they are mad you are ordering and scowl while disproportionately and sloppily distributing your food… seriously, by the time he was done last night my box was bent and spilling out when the lid was placed on. There is a common«bad attitude/disposition» from the servers… the«I hate this place» demeanor that makes you think your food may not be handled with care. I’ll end with, I am a big fan of Dig Inn and have been grabbing lunch and dinners there consistently for over 2yrs at their midtown locations(53rd and 55th streets). My job moved to the flatiron district a couple months ago so I started eating at the location on 23rd street. At first I was really excited by the beverage options and the great space but over the past 2 months I’ve had too many«bad experiences» to continue going there, very unfortunate.

I like this place so much that I’m a regular here. The Dig Inn experience — food, service, ordering, loyalty, value, portion size — are unparalleled. I’ve tried Maple, Inday, Indikitch, Sweetgreen, and looked at Munchery. Dig Inn’s food is always as good or better, the variety is incomparable, the value is better than its competitors, and its nutritional value can also exceed anything else around. For the current winter menu, I’ve been eating charred chicken over brown rice, with Brussels sprouts and charred broccoli with meyer lemons for 8.75, with tax. The grilled salmon and grilled tofu are also crushworthy. TIP — dine-in can get crowded TIP — this location serves grilled items — salmon, charred chicken, and tofu — that are unavailable at the nearby 17th Street location TIP — you can use the nutrition page( ) to plan meals that are high in protein, low in carbs, and around 500 calories for less than $ 10, and they’re really good BONUS — creative recipes IMHO BONUS — excellent online ordering with LevelUp payments(you must sign up), leading to a free lunch around every tenth one SHOUTOUT to Manny, Eydie, and Jo Jo for making every visit something to look forward to.

Great lunch spot with fresh produce, and has great vegetarian options and a few vegan ones(a lot of the side salads have cheese in them). Don’t let the long line deter you– they’re really efficient. I’ve never waited longer than 7 – 8 minutes and that’s during a lunch rush. The tofu is super good and they give you a hearty helping with scallions and other veggies with it. The only issue I’ve encountered is that the roasted broccoli is served cold? Seems like an odd choice to me, but it was still tasty.

I come here to pick up lunch all the time. It’s tasty, reasonably priced and, best of all, there are plenty of healthy options. I love the salmon, meatballs, mac n cheese and brussel sprouts. My only complaint is that sometimes the grains and veggies are a little cold.

If you want to eat healthy, this is the right place. They have a unique combination of mains with bed of grains or greens and sides. I chose to go with Grilled tofu with Farra and butternut squash and roasted sweet potatoes. The names sound it all, lots of nutrition on a small plate for 9 dollars. Giving three star rating as, I have requested for spoons but no one has taken care about it. I ended up using the fork to finish my food with difficulty.

Quick, Yummy and Ok priced. The line moves fast even if you’re 30 peoples behind. Just decide what you want before you reach the counter. The guys back there will rush you the New York way… My go to is the chicken entrée and a lemonade, both really good. Will satisfy you.

I’ve got to admit, I wasn’t into Dig Inn the first time I had it. Perhaps the 17th St location isn’t as well-run as this one. Perhaps they had an off day. Perhaps, in the three years that’ve passed since that first fateful day, I’ve gained an appreciation for healthier meals. Perhaps I’ve said perhaps too many times. All I know is that now, when my co-workers offer up Dig Inn as a lunch option, I’m down. They’ve got large portions of real food, and they serve them up quickly for an affordable price. I’ve had the steak. I’ve had the chicken. I’ve had the salmon. And they are all pretty solid. But believe me when I tell you that the balls are the best. Meatballs, the upstate mac and cheese, and a vegetable of some kind(brussels sprouts, the new and tasty roasted carrots, etc.). That’s the move.

After gaining«I don’t want to know» lbs since my wedding(eating the same portion as your husband is a big no no), I decided to start off the new year with new eating approach — no meats, no sweets for 30 days. Instead of the usual carb heavy brunch I had been overindulging in the city, I stopped in for their market veggie plate(small for only $ 6!) which came with one base plus three sides. I opted for their Farro with butternut squash as my base, curried kale and chickpeas, tahini squash salad, and roasted Brussels sprouts as my sides. Although I went with the small — I found the portion to be just right! Not only was it filling, it was soooo satisfying to my tastebuds! Every component of my veggie plate was spot on! I’m a fanatic for anything butternut squash/Brussels sprouts — it felt as if all of the veggie options were created just for me! The same veggie plate would had easily costed twice if I had gone to whole foods or similar salad bar. Def will return for more nutritional good eats!

Okaaaaaaaaay, so I’m coming back here after today’s lunch and knocking off a star for a few reasons… + Customer Service: Really can improve here. The guy cutting the chicken today? Total sweetheart! The other folks down the line could definitely use some«happy juice»…or at the very least be pleasant. Today I went for the Charred Chicken platter which includes 2 sides. I know me. My coworkers know me. YOU reading this might even know me. My 2 sides were their Upstate Mac N’ Cheese — pfffft. This yummy and strangely-not-too-unhealthy mac is 50 shades of delightful. + Portion size: Yeah, yeah — healthy, all organic, locally sourced, free-range, Antibiotic-free, humanely-raised, wild-caught, farm/sea-to-table, «slow fast food» — I get it(and feel like in the cast of the TV show, «Portlandia»). But that doesn’t mean we need to be given kids meals. I ordered a small Charred Chicken platter(the chicken is flavored with herbs & lemons… completely organic, free-range and humanely picked off the healthiest of lemon trees, I assure you — lol) and didn’t want a base because both are too complicated for my palette(brown rice should just be rice, why are there avocados in there? I’m not a fan of their texture, sue me) and Farro could just be farro without squash(texture issue here for me too Yep). Being that I politely declined on a «base» to accompany my protein of choice, my asking for a little extra chicken should not have been a big deal — but instead I was given a blank-stare and a monotonous, «NO». Then I asked again in-case that she was talking to someone else because her blank-stare didn’t see to be in my general direction, but then she said, «NO. This is the small». To me it looked more like a, «TINY». How is it that I’ve finished a $ 10 meal and I AMSTILLHUGRY, yet when I’ve come here and purchased a SINGLE side of their UPSTATEMAC for(a much more reasonable) $ 4 I GETFULL. Basically, I’m being encouraged to enjoy a yummy side as a filling meal and avoid protein because for $ 6 extra I’ll end up hungry. No wait, HANGRY. I am very unsatisfied with their inconsistent portions and customer service. Cashier was sweet as pie, thankfully. My coworker who also got small chicken(with a base) also had significantly more chicken. Next time I come here, I’ll only be spending $ 4 for lunch. Cost-effective and gets me full. Oh and it’s organic too.

This place is the bomb! They have a variety of salads and protein options where you can make your own plate and everything tastes extremely fresh and delicious. They allow you to choose a small or large plate – I ordered a small and it was the perfect portion for me to be full and satisfied. If you want a healthy yet delicious meal, I highly recommend. They also have house green juice($ 6) and kombucha on tap!

I absolutely love this place. All of the food is organic, they have plenty of yummy options and everything tastes fresh. The small plate is enough to fill you for lunch. My favorites: chicken, mac&cheese, kale. They lose a star because the line at this location is always out the door. However, the last time I was here, I was given a card with information on how to download the app which allows you to order and go straight to the cashier to pick up. Hopefully, my wait will be much shorter next time.

I know that Dig Inn specializes in seasonal fare that should inspire and delight throughout all four of them, but for me fall and winter are«Dig Inn season.» They just seem to nail the cold weather comfort foods. Fast casual being all the rage, if you time things perfectly, you’re in and out in under five minutes. Saunter through their front door at the height of lunch rush, and you may be sprinting back to your desk with a gaggle of sweet potato wedges under your arm. Plan accordingly. I typically go with the salmon over faro with whatever sides they have that day. Being a creature of habit, it usually ends up being any sort of yam/sweet potato dish, and kale or Brussels sprouts. I’ve been on several occasions where the salmon isn’t ready despite being open for 10 – 25 minutes, so that’s a bit annoying(why not open with your guns blazing?). But in those instances it’s a good opportunity to try some of their other proteins(steak + chicken). A solid lunchtime meal right in the ballpark budget wise. If you work in the area, it should be on your short list.

Came here around 4pm and there wasnt a line. With this restaurant their menu changes constantly so I stood staring at trays for a moments. I decided on lemon chicken with some grains, mac n cheese, and brussel sprouts. I liked the chicken but the mac n cheese was the best. The brussel sprouts had lemon zest that I was not fond off, just tasted weird. The grain thing had almond slices so I couldnt eat it. The chicken had a good flavor but the mac n cheese was deliciously cheesy. Nit impressed by Dig Inn thus far.

I like the food at Dig Inn Seasonal Market but I feel that the customer service is not consistent. And the portion sizes are definitely not consistent either. I can order a large meal one day and the lunch box is filled one way and order it again another day, and the lunch box looks different and chintzy. If you point it out to the person serving the food, they give a canned answer about how they have set portion sizes… if that is the case, then why is it different all the time!!! It’s not like they measure the portion sizes. I don’t see a scale. The customer service can be pretty awful sometimes. I don’t know how they train them on customer service. It’s not working too well. I had the steak and sockeye salmon before multiple times. I feel the salmon can be overcooked most of the time. But maybe it’s just the way I like it, more medium. I never tried the chicken but plan to one day. I love the roasted kale. I took off one star for customer service and I took off another star for inconsistent portion sizes. For fast food, Dig Inn is pretty yummy and least like traditional fast food.

This place is great! Super friendly service with wonderful selection of organic food at a very reasonable price. Loved my grilled wild salmon with grilled veggies and my girlfriend had a yummy salad with free range chicken. The only recommendation is to make the menu a bit easier– i asked if I can select my own option and was pleasantly surprised. Could not tell from the written menu . Highly recommend !

Dig Inn seems like upscale fast food, or like a fancy Boston Market. The food here tastes healthy, so I would feel comfortable eating here multiple times a week if I’m trying to watch my figure. I had the 5 spice meatballs with a side of kale and mac and cheese. The meatballs didn’t have much flavor since they seemed so lean and dry(even though they are in a tomato sauce. I didn’t have that gross overstuffed feeling after eating something like shake shack when I left.

I waited anxiously for months for this location to open up so that I could have a quick, healthy, and not too pricey go-to for lunch while at my office. Though the lines were crazy at first(I guess I wasn’t the only one who was excited), now that it’s been open a few months it’s totally manageable and as I predicted it’s one of my favorite lunch spots in the area. There’s a lot to choose from but I always go with a small market plate. I love their salmon — it’s not too dry, very flavorful, and it always seems to be available. For a warm side I love their roasted sweet potatoes, and there are a ton of good cold/salad sides to choose from, usually featuring some great seasonal veggies. If you feel like indulging they usually have a very tasty mac and cheese of the day. Service in terms of friendliness is hit or miss, but they’re always efficient and get you through the line quickly. The space itself is really clean and bright, almost beachy, and as long as you’re not in a huge group in the middle of rush hour it’s pretty easy to find a table. It’s a huge local chain, I know, but Dig Inn has been a consistent winner for me.

I really thought all Dig Inns were the same and offered the same thing at each location during the«inn season.“Now I am addicted to what each Dig Inn has to offer. The only other Dig In I’ve been to was the one in Union Square. I kinda like the layout of the one in Union Square better because its more open and has a countryside theme going on with wooden seating and flowers on the table. Also there is a lot more seating at the Union Square location. This location is pretty cool too the tiles kinda give it a retro vibe but the ceiling is kinda low and I felt kinda trapped. If only the Union Square offered the charred chicken instead of the lemon herb chicken which is also good but not as good. Let me reiterate, the charred chicken is AMAZING. It is marinated throughly and not dry at all(like the lemon chicken i had). The flavor is out of this world, I thought it would taste like BBQ but its a whole different story. My sides were good but I wasn’t too crazy about the dressing for the kale & rhubard salad which made it even more bitter than kale & rhubarb are already. Also there wasn’t much mango in my Mango & Spinach side with too many raisins which made is unnecessarily sweet. But overall, Dig Inn never fails to satisfy. There is also a sink that I saw here with cups which could come in handy. I ate my meal in Madison Square Park across from Shake Shack feeling healthy.

Just open today across the street! Now I got a new lunch choice. Delicious Market plates– pick your protein and your sides. Plate sizes are small or large. They also have salads and sandwiches! Their menu is a little different from the other locations; they have a grill.
