Dorm2Dorm makes leaving for the semester easy! They picked up all my stuff at my dorm and gave me the price per month right then and there. They dropped off my boxes a couple days before and the man that helped me move my stuff into the truck was very nice, despite the torrential rain! I know that getting my things back in 5 months when I come back to NYC will be just as easy.

My first time using a self-​storage company — it was a great experience. Everything from the reservation to the pickup was quick, easy, and straight forward. They were also very accommodating and helpful during the pick up as I was a bit of a mess and in a rush.

You have to pick up within a specific timeframe, otherwise $ 100 fee will apply. I didn’t know that, but other than that, the service is good.

Great service! But the total price came out to be more than it said it was online ($ 12/​box).

The stuff of Dorm2Dorm are great and helpful! They answer the call every time and are very kind to explain everything to me. I chose the elite service so they came up and picked my stuff directly from my dorm which is super helpful since I can not possibly carry all those boxes around.

Movers were very nice and called abt 10 – 15 minutes before they actually came to pick up the boxes. Service was quick and efficient.
After the summer was over, I picked up by boxes to move into my new place, but I found out that they couldn’t find one of my boxes… They kept telling me that they would search for it and keep me updated by they never did. After a day of no communication, they finally found my box but it was very damaged and everything inside was ruined. I would not choose their service again.

After storing my belongs with Dorm2Dorm for the second year, I can firmly say that the full service Dorm2Dorm provides makes storing hassle-​free. They make planning pick up and drop off easy, they always answer my calls promptly, and are flexible with boxes. I’m a sucker for great customer service, and the Dorm2Dorm staff, both the movers and people on the phone, have been wonderful.
I’ll admit that I think the cost can be a bit steep, but for the convenience of storing boxes in New York City, I’m willing to pay extra for the service.

Dorm2Dorm really tries to get every last bit of money out of you. They have specific size of box: 17“x17“x22″ and each one costs $ 6 if you buy from them. Nobody else makes boxes this size, so if you use your own boxes, you either have to pay more for a «large» box, or you have to pay the same rate as for a «medium» box, but it’s smaller than 17“x17“x22″, so you’re not getting as much space for your dollar.
Furthermore, the way they price their deals is a little misleading. They advertise online a 25% discount, which you can get if you sign up more than 10 days before your school’s final exams. They also advertise 2 months free if you sign up during a similar early window. These deals don’t overlap and when I signed to pay for the service, nobody told me this.
Then, Dorm2Dorm charged me twice in 15 days. I called them to ask why I was charged twice and why I was paying the full rate instead of the discounted rate. The guy on the line told me that in order to activate my discount, I had to leave a 5-​star Unilocal review.
Actually using the service was fine. The people who came to pick up my boxes did a good job. I haven’t gotten my stuff returned to me yet, but I’m hoping nothing will be broken since I declined to buy the insurance they offered me. Still, their pricing is really opaque and while after a lot of negotiating, they gave me the discount (without a 5-​star review), I would never use this service again.

I got 2 calls from dorm2dorm, one to confirm my appointment for the next day and then another (about 15 minutes later) to ask me to switch to an earlier time slot for pickup. Since I was free all day, switching to an earlier slot was okay. I didn’t get the elite package, so I had to lug my boxes downstairs. Not too big of a deal.
The pricing advertised on the website is confusing and a little cat-​fishy; I had thought that I would pay 18.99 * 25% off each box, but I ended up paying 18.99 a box (which was 25% of the «original» price of a large, non-​dorm2dorm box, and the original storage price of the box was not on the website) only after I did the rebate offer (Aka write a Unilocal review). I didn’t talk to Andy/​pay until after all of my boxes had been loaded into the truck and the trick had driven away, so I didn’t find out about the actual price I would be paying per box until it was too late (my boxes had already left, so even if I wanted to change my order, it would have been a huge headache to get my boxes back so I could store them with the UPS store for a rate of $ 65/​box for the whole summer, which is much cheaper than about $ 80/​box with dorm2dorm). Also, when i first signed up for dorm2dorm back in March, I had thought that i would get 25% off storage costs automatically (like how campus storage does their rebate offers), but Andy told me that i had to write a Unilocal review to get that discount… Hence this Unilocal review.
Aside from the frustratingly confusing pricing problems, dorm2dorm was a good experience. The movers came during their assigned slot, and moved my boxes to the truck quickly and efficiently. Hopefully box drop off at the end of the summer goes as smoothly. Another positive thinking get about dorm2dorm is that they should (according to their website…) drop off boxes on the weekend before/​day of Labor Day, which is super convenient bc it allows me to unpack everything before school starts.

d2d is fast and good.

Movers were very helpful and nice, and came during their arrival time frame. A little on the expensive side but worth it because they are picking and dropping off the boxes at the end of the summer.

The service is really efficient and quick – movers are in and out in what seems like a matter of minutes. For those who are out of state, it’s a really great deal and less stressful than storing elsewhere. The movers are really nice and they always call a little before they arrive to give you time to get ready before they come, which is important because moving out in NYC is always hectic. The only downside is that the tape they provide if you buy it from them is pretty awful, though it wasn’t in past years… it’s probably best to buy that and bubble wrap elsewhere anyway. All in all, it’s always a pleasure.

It is more expensive that what it says I line, however I saw that coming because of all the things I stored, so that wasn’t a big problem for me. The pick up was on time and very friendly. Very convenient if you are an international student and dont have a house in the us xD

I just used dorm to dorm and I was decently happy with the process. The boxes were supposed to be mailed but they did not arrive on time so they were personally delivered which I appreciated. The pick up process was easy but they are pretty expensive. The workers were friendly!

Unreliable on prices. I was extremely shocked upon hearing my quote, not sure why I accepted it, besides the fact that I have to move out the next day. Providing a quote would be a lot more helpful and beneficial. Movers were very nice. Will not use this company again.

The pick-​up guy was very nice and came to my room to pick up my stuff on time. It’s a little pricy but worth it. Do the elite. You get insurance for each box.
