Possibly the slowest NYC Dunkin Donuts I have ever been to. The city is way too busy for slow service. Once in a while I stop by this Dunkin because it is in the train station for the E/M train, very convenient location. But the convenience is defeated by slow service. The cashiers are rude, with barely a greeting.

This could be a TMNTDD because it’s subterranean. You can find it as you’re crawling your way into(or out of) the E/M station on the 5th Ave side of the 53rd/5th station. The coffee is DD coffee, so you know what you’re getting. Even when there’s a line out the door(most mornings) it moves pretty fast. Unless some tool right in front of you is ordering a dozen donuts and he’s agonizing over every choice like his grandparents will die if he makes the wrong decision. It’s a donut, ya jagoff! Even if you get one of those lame plain cake donuts, Stan from Accounting will probably eat it. Sheesh! Just make a choice. Anyway, that aside, this is a reliable place.

3 stars for coffee, 2 stars for the cronut. Came for a quick coffee run — It’s your average coffee(way better than starbucks though, hands down). Tried a cronut — not impressed. Don’t get it.

Got a crazy donut craving in this middle of the night this past weekend. I ordered one donut, and the manager was super nice and gave me a bunch for free. Admittedly, it was after midnight, and they had a lot of donuts left that obviously weren’t going to sell. But it was still nice of him! The donuts tasted pretty fresh actually.

I had the absolute worst customer service experience yesterday at this dunkin donuts. I use to stop here every morning as it is conveniently located on my way out of the subway. I ordered my regular large hot tea, black extra sugar. The girl made me a black coffee. First time in a couple months I had the wrong thing made. I said, sorry but I wanted a tea not a coffee. She told me in these exact words«then you should have ordered a tea» I told her that I did order a tea and she must not have heard me over all of the noise. The manager came running over and starting screaming at me that I have to order clearly. I told her that it isn’t a big deal, just make me a tea and I will be on my way. She insisted on telling how I need to order and that it isn’t their fault that they made a coffee. I had to remind her that I was the customer and tell her to calm down and stop yelling at me. This went back and forth for some time until I got so frustrated that I left without anything that I had already paid for. I will never return to this dunkin donuts. There is a much better one that I stopped at this morning on 55th st between 5th and 6th. A little out of my way, but at least I won’t be screamed at… Please do not go here.

This is an average dunkin donuts. I just like that it’s in a convenient location right in the E/M subway station so you can grab a coffee or breakfast on your way out of the station. The store is tiny, so when it’s rush hour, there is usually a line out the door. The coffee is nothing special. The bagels and donuts are your average. Good for a quick coffee run.

Although very conveniently located in the E-M subway station mini mall on the southwest corner of Fifth Ave &53rd Street, I have experienced increasingly rude customer service while using the coupon booklets that I purchased from this location. Three times I’ve used the $ 10 for 10 medium coffees coupon book at this location, and three times I’ve had the SAMECASHIER who doesn’t understand how they work. The cashier attempted to deny my coupon today, which prompted an argument regarding the fine print of the coupon book.(Customers can tear out the coupon themselves, DD cashier at 5th&53rd — as long as the stub on the left side of the coupon has not been removed!!!). Just don’t argue with a customer while a line is forming. People are busy and New Yorkers get the shaft in customer service enough as it is! I love DD and the fact that the coffee is available fresh brewed every 20 minutes or less. Most customer would probably not return to this location after three increasing frustrating experiences, but I vow to fight the DD cashier at 666 Fifth Avenue(no joke, the address is 666!) and collect my coffee at least once per week until I receive friendlier service that I and every customer deserves! DD vigilante!
