Dyanna is a no-​frills type of place. The reason you go there is have Yaffa help you with your services. She is great for nails, eyebrows and waxing — very thorough. I have been a client for years.

I travel to New York and when I do, I stay at the Pod hotel in Murray Hill (midtown Manhattan). I noticed a spa across the street so I called up a friend of mine and I decided to get a brazilian wax using hard wax for my sensitive skin while she got a manicure and pedicure special for $ 30. I loved my waxing experience! They did a great job! My friend’s nails looked so good! I’ll probably try that next time I’m back in town. Overall a positive experience; professional, affordable and convenient.

This spa is amazing!!! Located in midtown NYC, They offer the best MALE brazilian in NYC by far! I come here all the time and make my appointments with SVETLANA she is so nice and very professional! Very gentle and precise and she makes sure the jobs gets done while making what can tend to be an extremely awkward situation as comfortable and relaxing as possible!

Lana is a professional — attentive and thorough — always kind and gentle… best mani and pedi in NYC!

I was in the city, looking around for a brazilian wax, which i’m always shy n afraid to get. I walked in n been greeted very nicely. The spa looks clean n neat. The woman, who took care of me Rita was such an angel. She made me the most comfortable and amazing bikini wax i’ve ever got in my life. She was very efficient, professional yet gently. After such a great experience i ve decided to gig a try to they spa pedi and gel mani. Rita did amazing job. I have a lot of problems with my feet, n that was a 5 star pedicure. the gel surprisingly stayed really long, n i got many complements on it! Thank you guys for such a great experience)) I will definitely come back) n thank u Rita, u r the best! would recommend for anyone!

Booked the package for a manicure, pedicure, body wrap and a body massage.
First, this is not really a spa. It’s primarily focused on the manicure and pedicure (not that they do a good job at it) They only have about 2 – 3 small cramped rooms for a body massage. I was place in the room right next to the pedicure area. The masseuse opened and closed the door many times while I was fully naked inside the room. An employee also walked into the room during the massage without knocking to speak to my masseuse.
The manicure was messy. She painted outside the nails on my fingers. I could’ve done a better job myself. During the manicure, she also constantly checked text messages on her phone. After she finished painting the colors on my nails, she sent me to the dryer area and told me to use it for 15 minutes and then to paint the top coat on myself.
Staff is rude and keeps speaking in foreign languages to each other. Will definitely not be coming back. Ever.

Svetlana is great. Walked in without an appointment for my first time ever being waxed. She was nice, sweet and had me laughing the entire time.

I rarely write reviews but my thumb still hurts this evening even though I got a horrific shellac manicure around lunch time.
I found this place through Spa Finder since someone gave me a gift card for the holidays. That website is difficult to navigate through so once I found a location, I figured I would just go to the locations’ site and book my appointment direct. I received a confirmation email shortly after selecting a time slot online. Great!
I got to the location which seemed a little outdated but whatever, it’s the East Side. They greet me and walk me over to pic a color from a bin of polishes. Yes, I had to sort through a bin. They did not have that little nail wheel with the corresponding color. That’s really annoying because, if you know shellac polish, the color of the bottle is rarely the same color that comes out on the nail. Fine.
We sit down — she in a nice plush chair and me on a wooden folding chair. No nail buff, just straight into cuticle pushing. At first, I appreciated the tools she used to push back the cuticles because it was angled well, causing less pain. She then proceeded to file my nails not asking me what shape I wanted but I thought I did a pretty good job shaping them already so I guess it was just obvious. Finally she asks if I would like my cuticles cut. I said yes and she just went straight for it. No soaking, no cuticle remover oil, just dry cutting. So of course, she got pretty deep into my middle finger which did not stop bleeding until I got back to work! She didn’t mention it and I didn’t feel it at first. When she was done with that, she filed my nails again. (Why? Do you know how long it took me to grow my nails?!) Anyway… something I did feel was her filing my thumbnail sideways. She went so deep on the side of my nail that she got down to the nerve and I jumped and immediately took my hand back! I apologized for startling her but then I looked down and thought «wth are you apologizing for?! She just hurt you and your once nice long shapely nail looks like f*cking frankenstein».
I want to finish this story already but it actually gets worse. The paint job was terrible. It’s streaky and the edges are just plain bad. At least I wasn’t paying for this right? Just going to use the Spa Finder gift card… which they don’t accept in that location!!! After going back and forth with the woman at the front desk who kept saying «your manicure is nice»…she didn’t look at my hands, not once! Eventually, after I told her «listen My pay day is on Thursday so I don’t know what you want me to do» she accepted the gift card yet charged the full $ 50 and told me I had to get store credit for the remainder at either location of the Dyanna Spas. So I’m stuck with returning to the sh! thole.
Hopefully the 21^st location is better. I pray that it is…

Just left this location feeling super refreshed. I had been to the other location on 21^st street before and I thought that I would give this location a try. Had a manicure and pedicure. It was superb. Friendly and efficient service. Great price considering that this location is in the city. Would definitely return and tell friends about it.

Bikini waxes are never fun, but this one was surprisingly not AS painful as many I’d received in the past. The women waxing me was surprisingly effective, very thorough, and at only $ 45 much cheaper than European Wax

This place has had some ups and downs recently, but I have been going to Yaffa for 8+ years and followed her to another salon and back. They did renovate so it looks cleaner, but go mainly for Yaffa – she’s a pro at waxing, so sweet and friendly, and you’ll be in and out at an affordable $ 40. I haven’t had their mani/​pedi services, so I can’t rate that.

The lady that did my nails was nice but this was by far the worst gel manicure I have ever received (and I’ve been getting gel Polish applied at least every 2 weeks for the past year). I tried out Dyanna’s because I was in town for the weekend and needed to fix a deeply broken nail. The cuticle removal was rough (as in she was pushing up against my fingers and causing pain, when, mind you, I do this regularly and never experience discomfort). On top of that, I told her that my normal nail girl uses acrylic to hold down my broken nails when it’s was as deep as mine is, but she disregarded me and just threw some glue on it. To add insult to injury, she put the thinnest amount of gel polish on so the color is splotchy. It chipped the same day (which defeats the whole purpose of spending $ 40 for a gel manicure when I could have gotten regular polish) AND the broken nail that I specifically asked her to secure popped through the glue and the gel. Maybe I let the wrong lady do my nails, but I will not be returning next time I’m in the city. I will post pictures of my nails as well as the receipt

I went in today given that I’ve been living in the same building, but traveling downtown to a wax center for the past year. I thought it would be the appropriate time to try out an eyebrow waxing at the place inside my building, Dyanna Spa and Waxing Center.
I walked in and a dirty blonde russian woman politely took me to the waxing room and prepared her tools. Before she began the waxing, I gave her careful instructions. I said the following:
— please only wax in between my two eyebrows
— please only wax above my eyebrows
— please trim a LITTLE BIT, JUST A LITTLE BIT
— and finally, please make sure to keep them looking masculine and bushy (to which she did not understand what the word masculine meant and I should have taken that as a cue to run out the door)
As she starts waxing my eyebrows, I can tell that they feel too short and the fact that she spent a long time waxing in the middle began to concern me deeply. I’ve always been told that my bushy eyebrows were unique and I felt like they were a part of my facial features. For at least the last ten years, I have tried various eyebrow waxers for my face, but none were as horrible as this lady at Dyanna Spa and Waxing Center. She has taken away something that defined part of my face and went against my own instructions.
During the waxing, she continued to repeat, «I do this for my husband all the time. He likes when I get rid of the bushiness entirely.» — HELLO LADY, I’M NOT YOUR HUSBAND. I told her explicitly not to do that beforehand.
Never go to this place as it has zero quality control.

The place seems somewhat clean and the people are very nice and overall did a good job. However, my skin was ripped and is still swollen and red a day later which never happens. The lady also left a pedicure to give me a wax and I don’t know if she washed her hands. For the price, you’re much better off at uni k or European wax.

Another location– same top notch service. Eyebrows, lips and bikini wax were performed quick and efficient. I had never though wax experience can be so dramatically different from one place to another. After all many might think what’s the difference: wax, spatula, paper, pull against the hair. That’s how I was thinking before. Not so easy as it seems.
After being a customer in Dyanna since my very first wax I tried a few other places mostly out of desire to have a spa that I don’t need travel to but can walk. Now I can say with confidence: I won’t switch place ever again. No lifebooker discount, option of skipping taking the subway will change my mind. I never knew what ingrown hair is. Thanks to other famous place, you saw a buses with a print most likely, I won’t use the names here, I learn about ingrown and heavy irritation. So I am. Back to Dyanna and happy as a clam.

I was staying in midtown east area for business when I needed to get a quick wax and Mani. I was pleasantly surprised when near the place I was staying was Dyanna spa, I wondered could it be the same as the one I usually go to when I’m in NY; to my surprise I went in and found out that it was the same. It is now under new Managment and the service was just as wonderful as the 21street location. My wax was quick, professional and my mani was great. It’s great to know that whenever I’m in town I have to options for my beauty routines.

I’ve been a client at the 21^st location and I recently found out that they re-​opened a new location under new management in Midtown Manhattan. The staff is nice, professional and welcoming. The place is super sanitized and clean. I came here with an appt they took me within minutes and did a wonderful job. There is no double dipping, my new favorite place to get a nice fresh wax. All the pedicure stations are super clean. I will definitely be returning back to this location in the future.

I usually go to their 21^st St location but this time I was in midtown and in a bind. I was warmly greeted and ushered into a wax room. Rooms were clean and relaxing. The process, which in general is uncomfortable was done very quickly and as painlessly as these things can be :-) I’m def returning!!! Thank You!!!

So… the girl who did my brazilian wax was super friendly, really seemed to know what she was doing, and quite frankly– she was hilarious! It was quick, virtually painless… and now you’re thinking, «Um, then why the 1 star?»
Everything I’ve said thus far is moot. I HATE MYSELF for not paying closer attention until it was too late.
THEY DOUBLE DIP!!!
Honestly, I didn’t even think that happened anymore. Quite frankly, how is it legal?
DO NOT GO HERE!
Update: it hurts/​feels raw hours later. I’ve been getting Brazilians for a while and never experienced this. :(
