Eastside Art Gallery is my absolute favorite place to get my artwork framed! Joe, the owner is incredibly sweet and delivers the utmost professionalism. He’s fast, efficient, and always provides quality work. I never have to worry when my treasured artwork is in his hands. He also has a great selection if I’m looking for something new to add to my space. I would highly recommend him to anyone I know.

We love Joe. He has done at least 5 frames for us and they are always better than we expect. Also, we are very picky! He’s so friendly too and so is his family.

Joe was absolutely fantastic! I came in with an example of exactly what I wanted, and he was able to perfectly replicate it at half the price of the original. He was also very communicative and responsive. Such a pleasure to work with, can’t wait to get my next pieces framed here in the future.

Best framing prices and expertise on the UES. Joe gives great, honest recommendations for how to frame art, and his prices are very reasonable (at times 50% less than similar shops on Lexington Ave). Plus, Joe is a pleasure to work with.

I wandered into Joe’s shop on Saturday, ⁷⁄₁₈ unannounced with two rolled posters in a tube that I got 2+ years ago from Anchor Brewing in SF. One was a print of an oil painting of SF bay at sunset in the late 19^th century, and the other was a unique narrow vertical rectangular poster showcasing all of Anchor’s Christmas labels since 1975. Both were acquired on their amazing brewery tour, which is a must-​do for any beer lover visiting SF. The former is on a nice heavy print stock, and Joe suggested that it be matted and put in a nice frame. My eyes wandered towards a gorgeous steely blue frame with gold on the sides, which happened to be one of the pricier options available, being handmade and Italian. Nevertheless, I knew that I had found the perfect match for the colors in the painting, and Joe agreed, complimenting my (admittedly novice) taste. The other poster we agreed would go in a cheaper black metal frame. He said that it would take about two weeks, and upon asking if it could be completed sooner, he said he would have it done in a week. Fast forward four days to yesterday, and both framed pieces were delivered to my building, safely wrapped in heavy brown paper with cardboard end protectors. These were gifts to my fiancée for our 5-​year anniversary, and when she arrived home half an hour later, I couldn’t wait for her to open them. When she did, we were both absolutely blown away. The craftsmanship and pride of work is absolutely top-​notch in my eyes (I’m new to having something professionally framed, but I cannot imagine it getting any better than this), and we cannot wait to mount these as prominent features in our new apartment. Without hesitation I will use Joe for any and all future framing needs so long as I am still in the city. Bravo, sir!

Joe is the absolute best. I’ve been going to Eastside Art Gallery for over a decade and do quite a bit of work with him as I am an interior designer. He’s always happy to help, has great opinions on what to do, has quick turnaround, and stands by his work.

We stopped by last weekend to have a certificate and painted canvas framed. Joe was such a pleasure to work with as he asked us what we wanted and then gave us some different options to choose from. You can tell he is passionate and enjoys what he does. We thought the price for both pieces was reasonable and our pieces were delivered to our buliding in four days (he gave us an estimate of two weeks.)

I had an oil painting stretched and framed at Eastside Gallery and it looks terrific. Joe recommended the perfect frame – only took a few minutes to decide – and then they hand-​delivered the framed artwork a week later to my apartment! I just got it today. I didn’t even know they would deliver, I thought I was going to get a call and then need to go over to pick it up. I could not have had a better experience with Eastside Art Gallery. Highly recommended.

Joe is the absolute best, I’ve lived in the neighborhood for a few years and I always go to him for all of my framing needs — he is so friendly and will bend over backwards to get you exactly what you need for the best price. His work is beautiful, you will not be disappointed!

All the reviews are true! Been living in the neighborhood for over 10 years and Joe has framed at least a dozen art pieces for me in different sizes and genres. If you don’t have a vision for your finished product, he has a great eye and can work within your price range. The turnaround is reasonable and he’ll even call you when it’s ready. Please don’t hesitate to support this local business!

Owner is great. He was very helpful and awesome with my crazy 2 year old as she grabbed everything in sight. Frames were returned to us quickly and we’re very happy with the results. Overall very positive experience. More shop owners should be this friendly.

Simply put … The best framing place around. Jojo was extremely helpful and patient. He completed the framing ahead of time and delivered it to us at no extra cost. We have come back again for additional framing. Great selection of unique frames. He is our go to guy.

The owner of the gallery (I presume) was helpful and polite and took his time in offering his advice for the oil painting I wanted to get framed. He sounded knowledgeable as well and his recommendations were on the mark (I googled around to ensure his advice was correct since this was an expensive painting).
I would definitely go back here if i had another framing task.

I framed two Hermes scarves, my wedding invitation, and my sons footprints on canvas with the Eastside Art Gallery. Everything turned out even more beautiful then I had expected.

Went in with art and spent a long time selecting the right frame, etc. I was quoted a price of $ 250 (no glass, just stretched canvas and frame). I told the guy I had a Groupon for $ 200 and would pay the balance in cash. He told me that his boss said the Groupon was only good for «some» frames. Mostly the black ones, he said. He’d do a deal for me (an extra $ 180) but he was «bending the rules.» I told him I’d go home and double check the terms of the Groupon, because I had bought it for this particular piece of art and would not have if I had known the restrictions. He desperately tried to get me to pay for the deal but I insisted that I would check and come back.
I checked. There are NO RESTRICTIONS on the Groupon. I called and talked to his boss who said, «I know it doesn’t say it, but you can only use the Groupon with certain frames.» I said, «If it doesn’t say it, then you can’t limit it. What is says is what gets someone like me to buy the thing in the first place.» He replied, «If you don’t like it, call Groupon and get your money back.»
I have and I will and I will never go there again. I hope you don’t either. With the multitude of little framing shops on every block, they are going to have a hard time staying open with this type of attitude. Groupon should not allow them to use the service anymore, as well.
Can you tell I’m pissed? :)
