Eastside Glass Lock & Security

I had to get my GEICO pictures taken for my car, and chose this place based on the great recommendations. I was not disappointed! This place was fantastic. They were friendly and very genuine! Such a relief to find in the city. I will definitely be returning for any car or lock issues I have! Thanks!

This place is fantastic. I was stuck in my apartment with no way to lock my door from the outside so called these guys for a quote to install a lock for me. They put me in touch with one of their technicians out in the field right away, who told me what it would cost and how soon he could get there. He was spot on with both estimates, and was very friendly when he arrived. The job was done in 15 minutes or so, and I was able to get on my way. Would definitely call these guys again if needed.

Nothing but good things to say about this place. I found them on Unilocal after my car was broken into, and (as another reviewer said), they made an unpleasant experience much better. The owner (? not sure exactly who he was but he was working the front desk) is a little gruff in that NYer kind of way, but not in any way unfriendly or unhelpful.
I dropped off my car around noon (didn’t call in advance, just showed up with a shattered window), and got a call saying my car was ready around 4:30. I asked them how much it would cost before they did the service, and he quoted me $ 350, which is exactly what it cost plus tax. I’m honestly not sure how that price compares to other shops, but even if it was more expensive, I’d go here again because the whole experience was smooth and straightforward.

Service was great. Barry the owner could not have been nicer. It’s hard to find an honest auto repair shop especially in the city. Eastside is honest, reasonable and very quick. They should be the first people you call.
Made an unpleasant experience (car got broken into) much better. He is partners with most of the insurance agencies.
Barry, is a straight shooter — all around nice guy as his coworkers. Big shout out to Daniel.
Run don’t walk to this shop if you need a great repair and pleasant experience

I went here to get a few keys made. The place is not set up for retail, it’s on the second floor above an auto shop. You have to enter the front office of the auto shop, walk through the swinging door inside and up a set a stairs to get to the office. I would recommend calling ahead if anyone needs to get keys made/​visit in person, to make sure the locksmith is in.
Once I found the place, everything was great. Got all my keys made quickly, the locksmith was friendly and the prices seemed reasonable. The keys all worked, no problem. If I ever need a locksmith again I plan on giving this place a call.

Nice guy on the phone. Efficient. Got my number and then had his guy in the field call me back from his cell phone. The guy (Alex) called a few minutes later and was more than willing to accomidate my wacky schedule. He arrived. He fixed my broken front door lock. He left 20 minutes later. It was excellent. And not too expensive. $ 140 for a new lock and their labor charge. Good job Eastside!

Did you ever have ‘one of those days’ when whatever could go wrong, does?
This place is a lifesaver, if you get stuck in your own car, after a long journey.
Recently, my car key got jammed, (somehow it got bent), and could not be disengaged from the ignition. There was no way I was going to leave the car on the street — it was not even parked in a legal spot for the night — and I was not about to have it hauled away. Triple-​AAA could do nothing, as I recall, besides take the car.
Luckily, my super is a great resource for everything, and called Barry from Eastside in the middle of the night, and he appeared like magic.
It did not look well, for quite a while. He made grimaces and acted like it was totally impossible to get the key out. (As if it was my fault, lol!) But, after much persistence, with a Brooklyn accent thrown in for good measure, and scolding, he was able to get the key disengaged.
He said it was bent and needed replacement. He came back with a flatbed truck and put the car away for me for the night, till he could make a new key.
He saved my day — and night, and goodness knows what else. (If you have ever had your car impounded downtown, you know what I am talking about).
This is a great card to keep on hand if you drive in the city. They also
do residential and commercial security work, glass, locks, alarms, accessories, CCTV, Access Control, and High Security Locks — service and installations. Barry is a licensed Master Locksmith, and has a brilliant touch in getting you out of ‘jams’ literally. Don’t mind his gruff manner. He gets the job done.
