Elite Event: Spa Day at Julien Farel Restore Salon & Spa

I’m so late and no one cares any more, but this was such a rad event. Top of the line, in every way. Sexy and swanky.
I appreciated that we were broken up into smaller, more manageable groups, so I got to chat with people and get to know them better (I’m looking at you, Viv!). I appreciated that we had different stops around the salon, getting to see all the areas and spending time in each one. I appreciated that there were drinks at every stop. And more than anything, I appreciated my tour guide, Derek. Omg. Marry me?
Julien and Suelyn and the whole staff were so kind and gracious, and took amazing care of us. I came back a couple weeks later to get a mini facial, and it’s now a goal in life to be able to afford to come here on my own!

Adrian worked some magic on my hair– a low maintenance structured bob, a few days after my gramma passed away, I felt like I needed a drastic change and he did it good! Even though he has no hair of his own. :)
The spa/​salon menu of 1-​hr services is quite compelling. Definitely something to bookmark for your out-​of-​town guests coming in for weddings and what not.

Definitely one of my favorite Unilocal events.
We started off in the Spa area, where we were divided into groups to tour the Bar and Grill, which had amazing Hendricks Gin drinks, shrimp, and sliders. Then we visited one of the premier suites, with balconies overlooking Park Avenue. And then back down to the Spa area.
Thanks for giving us a tour of an amazing Hotel.

Everything about this event was flawless. In order to host a flawless event, the staff should demonstrate a connection not only with their guest but also have a connection with each other. The employees went above and beyond to create a fantastic/​highly memorable experience. To begin the space itself is gorgeous and even before receiving our amazing tour, you can immediately notice the dedication and thoughtfulness the owners contributed in order to build this business. The salon just opened up in April and the hotel in which it is located in just opened up in January. New businesses yet very successful and extremely impressive.
The event started off by separating us into 3 groups, my group was lucky enough to get to tour the spa first. We were walked through the entire salon, which is breathtaking and were offered a complimentary glass of champagne. The services, the equipment they offer is just unbelievably great!
Afterwards we were taken to the hotels restaurant and grill and got to indulge in mini hamburgers, appetizers, and drinks. The host was friendly and kept the food flowing all during our time there.
Finally, we got to visit the suit on the 21^st floor (which btw was not even open to the public yet bc it is still under construction, but we got see it first hand. seriously how amazing is that???) The view, oh my goodness! We arrived as the sun was setting and it spectacular! We were once again treated to a complimentary glass of Rose and got to mingle with the employees and further learn about the business itself.
And the story does not end there, we each got to book a complimentary appointment to be treated to one of their services. I decided to go with a single process done to my hair (getting it colored). I can not wait to return!

I really appreciated that we were split into three groups. These allowed the tours to be intimate and it was extremely well run. The salon itself is absolutely beautiful. Who knew that there was such a LARGE oasis sitting in the middle of Manhattan. I cannot wait to come back for my haircut this fall. I loved that the tour was given by Suelyn, the CEO and wife of Julien. It is always inspiring to see such a power woman.
The food and drinks were yummy. I was surprised by how much Iiked the Sergeant Pepper cocktail – it is not something I would typically order.
And the suite was just beautiful. I loved the balconies and the view.
I say it all the time, but Unilocal is just the best. Thank you thank you thank for a fantastic event. Please continue to do smaller, organized events like this!

This was my favorite Unilocal event thus far. Big THANK YOU to Ruggy and the team at Julien Farel and Loews. The staff was extremely welcoming and nice. I loved the food that we sampled at the restaurant and it was awesome getting to meet the Chef. The spa was so gorgeous and I am really looking forward to my visit again. The suite we saw is exactly what everyone would want their NYC experience to be– waking up to a view of Park Avenue and having coffee on one of your terraces. The marble at the entrance of the suite was so pretty as well as the marble in the bathroom. I liked the décor being modern but classic at the same time. This was an amazing event and I’ve raved to all my friends about what a beautiful Spa and Hotel it was.

As good as it gets doesn’t even sum up this event.
From the moment I walked into the Loews Regency Hotel I was given the VIP treatment and shown kindness from the doorman at the main entrance to the staff on the second floor. When I stepped off the elevator the VIP treatment continued, I was met with luxury and elegance.
The Julien Farel Restore Salon & Spa did not let me down:
First: The flute of champagne upon entering the spa and a private tour of the premises, both the male and female sides. Beautiful and luxurious
Second: We were taken to a private part of the restaurant and given small bites and sergeant pepper cocktails. Tasty, tasty, and hot but tasty.
Third: We took the elevator up to see the suites that overlook Park Ave and of course upon entering the suite we were given a glass of Rose. Breathtaking and elegant.
Finally, we had the opportunity to book a complimentary service for another date. **Facial booked and text confirmation received**
Overall, this was one of my favorite events in Manhattan and I hope there will be more like it. This was truly an escape to Unilocal luxury.

Oh man, this is one of the Top 5 for me in Unilocal events and I have been to many many Events.
I wasn’t expecting this, but this Salon & Spa is way sexy and way swanky. Everybody that works there was gorgeous and nice. Is that possible in real life?
The Salon& Spa moved in about 3 months ago. Julien was on sight to give all the history. He’s French, handsome and very capable. He had the opportunity to join the Tisch family, and made the leap immediately.
The Salon is just beautiful and spacious. Specialists of all kinds on site. And men can get specialists too. VIP men’s area is there, so you know go rub shoulders with celebrities and take some selfies.
At the end of the tour, we also got to see a suite in the hotel. Wow, the views were amazing. Nice rooms and balcony space. I’d say about $ 1000 for an executive suit.
Oh and the attached restaurant is good. Nice cocktails and great food.
If you want to be pampered, come here, get spoiled and look like a million dollars, imbibe on cocktails in a warm space and then go upstairs with that cutie and make some magic.

This was such a great event. The staff really made an effort to welcome everyone and introduce themselves. You can tell that they really take care of of their customers and want them to have a good time.
For this event we were split into 3 groups and then had 3 «tours».
1. The salon — clean, bright, great décor. Lots of space to move around, it’s on the second floor. They have some private areas sprinkled throughout. I lost track of all the services they offer, but it’s an insane list! I just kept thinking that I have bday gifts for life for all my aunts (7 of them)… I can just send them here! On the first floor, they have a men’s barber shop. It’s pretty cool, I like how it’s laid out… and the chairs are super comfy.
We were given the chance to book a complimentary service for a later date, that was a nice surprise! Super friendly staff the entire time
2. Regency Bar and Grill on first floor — We were taken to a private dining area and were able to sample some drinks and bites. First THE drink — Sergeant Pepper, this thing had a kick. At first I thought it was ginger, but was surprised to hear that its a jalapeño syrup they make — highly recommend this drink, great balance of flavors.
The bites — steak tartare, beef sliders and cheese crostini (cheddar?). They were all great, no complaints!
3. The suite — 21^st floor suite, great views with a wraparound terrace (east/​south). I used to live in hotels every week, so trust me — this is a real suite! 2 rooms, personal touches in all the décor. They are going to open a few more of these by September!
This was one of the top events so far this year. The salon staff, lowes regency staff, Julien and his wife were all great hosts! Ruggy, great event, thanks for organizing!

This really was of those events where I didn’t have high expectations and was completely blown away.
From the moment you walked we were made to feel so special. Every single member of staff acted professionally yet made you feel very welcome.
It really wasn’t just a spa visit this is was complete tour of the hotel, spa and grill.
They have done an amazing job renovating the place and recruited staff who really loved their product.
Started off with the «sergeant pepper «cocktail, nibbles and sliders… a look at the menu and introduction to the food and beverage manager.
Then a peek at one of the suites with its wrap around balcony and stunning views of the city. A cheeky glass of rose and a Unilocal member hiding in the closet.
Finally a tour of the spa, amazing. I could get used to this. Wait I just got a complimentary hair cut, facial or massage, not a bad dilema to have. You devils you really do know how to woo us.
Over all amazing little evening with the regular elites.
Big thanks to Ruggy, Julien Farel himself and all the staff for being so gracious and making this a great event.

The Suite Life of Ben and the Elites.
I didn’t realize Julien Farel was inside the Lowes Regency, so imagine my surprise when we went on not one, not two, but three different rotations throughout the hotel.
The first rotation through the suite gave us breathtaking views of Park Ave paired with delicious crisp rosè. It’s crazy to imagine the entire building underwent a $ 100 million renovation, but it definitely shows in the details. TVs in the bathrooms? Uh, yeah.
While I’m more of a Chinatown haircut guy, I can totally understand the appeal of fancy salons. The second tour showcased the cleanest beauty facility I have ever walked through with the widest range of services. I wonder celebrity clients use the private rooms…
Our last stop to the restaurant was my favorite. The Sergeant Pepper took a few sips to get used to, but eventually I started to crave that jalapeño kick. The shrimp, ahhhhhhh! So big, so tasty, and so olive oil. I literally squealed when they brought a second tray for our small group. The finishing lemon meringue tarts and brownies just made the end of the night that much better.
Thank you Kristi, Julie, Julien, Andres, Ruggy, and the entire team at Lowes Regency for this truly luxurious experience. I’m not a frequent traveller, but I know where I should put up my parents when they visit NYC. I can’t wait for my haircut with Julia next week!

So I was running late to this event (as usual), and I was afraid that I’d miss part of the event — but I was pleasantly surprised to still make it to everything and stay an extra hour chatting with some of our guides!
The spa is absolutely beautiful… And I want half of the chairs in my apartment (THAT MASSAGER/​BED/​HAIR WASHER THING. AND THAT MASSAGE BED/​FOOT BASIN THING. And just everything.) I’m super excited about my eyebrow shaping session with Natacha — she said she’d help me fix my brows (which I desperately need since I’ve never had them done before!). I’m also looking forward to coming back and reviewing the business (and maybe also booking a massage for after fashion week).
Then we went to the restaurant — quite fun. The cocktail was pretty good and the two things I got to try we’re delicious (I’m always a fan of a good steak tartare). But I left the restaurant tour early to go up to see the suite…
Which I wish I could move into right now. The views were pretty fantastic, and Evian, Ruggy & I ended up staying an extra half hour/​hour (I ended up leaving at 9) chatting with our fantastic guides — Julie, Christina & Kristi.
So yeah — it was an amazing event, and I like that it was different from the other events I’ve been to. Super fun and so great meeting everybody!!!

New favorite Elite event… of the year? Of all time? I can’t even, it was just that good.
The Salon and Spa were like, the various levels of my version of Heaven. Basically, I’m calling dibs right now.
The staff were amazingly friendly, and it was so informative and interesting to take the tour and learn the background and history. They offer such an extensive range of services, and each area that was shown outdid the previous part.

I have to admit to being completely unfamiliar with the salon and spa industry in NYC. (Yes, I’m terrible at being a girl.) Primarily for that reason, I was excited to get into the event at Julien Farel, as I figured it would be a good introduction to the services and solutions offered by what, I assumed, would be the typical salon/​spa in NYC.
Spoiler: I was completely wrong.
From the moment I hesitatingly entered the Loews Regency Hotel, I was greeted by only smiles and warm welcomes. We all gathered on the second floor, where the Julien Farel Salon & Spa is located, and were greeted by Julien Farel himself. After getting divided into multiple groups, we made our way to the first of three stops within the building.
My group started first on the 21^st floor of the Lowes Regency, where we had a chance to take a look around the newly remodeled two-​bedroom suite and sample a glass of rosé from Sant Ambroeus. The staff was kind enough to unlock the balcony doors so we had an excellent view of Midtown East. From there, we moved back to the salon where we had our formal tour as well as the opportunity to book a future appointment from a variety of services (including haircuts, blowouts, facials, and massages). It took only a few minutes to book an express facial and get a text confirmation, and I was even able to speak with Natacha, one of the aestheticians, who gave me a quick overview of what the appointment would consist of. And our third stop of the night was at the Regency Restaurant. Our group was able to sample the Beef Sliders (cooked to a perfect medium), the Seared Shrimp (with plenty of olive oil and black pepper), as well as the house cocktail, the Sergeant Pepper (gin, lime, and a little kick from the jalapeño). Our timing was excellent as we got to try a few bite-​sized desserts as well; I’m not sure of the lemon meringue or the dark chocolate brownie was the winner.
I’m glad to see the types of businesses that Unilocal Events are expanding too, given the range of services that are reviewed within the community. Many thanks to Ruggy for coordinating such a memorable event, and to the staff at Julien Farel and the Loews Regency for showing us only the best in hospitality. Needless to say, I’m looking forward to my return visit, and a chance to review the actual business.

I wish I could give this event six stars; it was off the charts. I usually end my reviews by thanking the Unilocal team, but tonight, I want to really (like, really!) thank Ruggy, the Unilocal team and Julien Farel for putting this together. Y’all are amazing. (P.S. I’m loving all the salon/​spa events — I’m feeling real fancy.)
Now, let’s talk about the event (which I don’t think I can write about without gushing — it was that good), it was Elite only and all the Elites were split into three groups upon arrival. I actually liked the split up into groups because I had the chance to chat with Unilocalers I had seen before, but hadn’t met at previous events. Great way to get to know everyone a little better! Your group then got to tour a (beautiful, enormous, every adjective for classy) suite, the restaurant/​bar, and, of course, the Julien Farel Salon & Spa.
My group (that sounds weird — the group I was in…) started in the salon and spa; it was the most gorgeous spa I’ve ever seen/​been in. Ever. And, I pride myself on my spa savviness (ex-​spa girl, here!) The massage tables that let you have a facial and a pedicure at the same time… wow. Julien Farel just takes pampering to a whole new level. (Did I mention we were also given champagne?!) I also liked how Suelyn talked about the little, personalized touches added to the spa (like the names on the doors, etc.) because I just found that to be really cute.
We then went on to the restaurant/​bar and were seated in a private dining area (perfect for chatting and mingling!) to try samples of… bite-​sized pieces of Heaven. My personal favorites were the two appetizer-​style samples (the cheese one, especially), the burger and the lemon meringue tarts. We also sampled the cocktail, Sgt. Pepper, which was right up my alley because I’m a gin girl forever.
After the restaurant/​bar, we went to our last stop — the suite. The suite, itself, was super swanky, but my favorite part was the view. You really can’t beat that view. And you really, really can’t beat that view when you’re hanging with your fellow Unilocalers and a glass of Rose.
We were then brought back down to the salon to book our complimentary spa services (insert super girly, high pitched squeal here.) I am so excited for my blow out and to come back to Julien Farel! (See y’all in a week and a half!)
I know, I know, I’ve already written practically a book, but I just can’t end this review without mentioning the staff. In one word, impeccable. Everyone from Julien Farel and the Loews Regency was so sweet and so welcoming, and really made me feel like a princess/​Beyonce.

AMAZING event. I cannot stress enough how personable the entire staff was– it is absolutely obvious that hospitality is #1 at both Julien Farel and the newly renovated Loews Regency Hotel.
We were greeted with a lovely welcome and introduction, and shortly after we were split into three groups. The tours of the private suite on the 21^st floor (which hasn’t been opened yet to the public), the Regency Bar and Grill, and the salon/​spa area were all informative and awe-​inducing– due to the breathtaking balcony views, the professionalism and friendliness of the service, and the creativity/​innovation on all counts.
We were treated to a great gin/​jalapeño cocktail affectionately named «Sergeant Pepper» as well as small bites and treats from the famous Dan Silverman himself. I was very impressed that Dan lent some of his valuable time to say hello to us.
I loved how interactive the entire staff was– even down to all of the stylists busy at work. Everyone took at least a few seconds to say hello, smile, and make us feel at home.
As a business consultant who is has almost lived in and out of hotels for the past decade, it was refreshing to see such a considerate and passionate staff.
Thank you to Ruggy and Julien’s entire staff for such an intimate look into the salon, spa, and hotel. I am very excited to come back and try out the restaurant and various services that they offer!

Woohoo! As good as it gets! — just like it says.
Though this event was different as it was in a spa and had a structured agenda, I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the friendly workers at JF Spa and getting to know some of my fellow Elites better — loved the intimate setting.
540 Park is inside of the Lowes Regency Hotel for those who are looking for this place and can’t find it. Luckily a doorman helped me find my way.
We toured a fancy Loews suite, the spa, and the restaurant downstairs. Let me tell you — that suite — fit for a queen (or king). The bathroom — I could live in it and be happy.
As for the spa — this is seriously a full-​service salon and spa. From haircuts to color to mani/​pedis to massages — you’ve got everything here, as well as a super-​friendly staff. I’m so, so excited for my haircut with Patrick scheduled on Friday — props to Ruggy and the Unilocal staff for helping us get this opportunity to work with the JF staff!
Restaurant — got to try some sliders, which were absolutely amazing what with the medium-​rare patty with sautéed onions. Grilled shrimp skewers were definitely at the top of the list with its perfectly-​cooked goodness. Also tried some beef tartare and cheese as well. To top it off, we had dark chocolate bite-​sized brownies and little baby lemon meringue tarts — delicious!
Plenty of drinks to go around at every «tour» we got as well.
Cheers to all my new friends and Ruggy for putting together an awesome event — can’t wait for my haircut!

Oui oui oui! This event definitely ranks in my top 3 so far.
The staff here is absolutely phenomenal. So pleasant and accommodating and everyone was extremely attractive, hha.
We were split into three intimate groups and rotated for three seperate tours that lasted about half hour each — 1) tour of the suite on the 21^st floor 2) tour of the Julien Farel salon 3) tour of the private dining area of the Regency Bar and Grill
1) the suite is absolutely insane. Spacious, bright, modern décor with the most amazing view from the balcony.
2) the 2-​floor salon is so well designed! So swanky, clean and bright with a systematic set up. We were able to see all the different nooks, stations and rooms where all the magic happens — pedicures, facials, skin tightening. pampering galore! Every service you can think of re: face, skin, hair, body, etc. is offered. After the tour, we were able to book an appointment for a complimentary service of our choosing at a later date — amazing! I opted for a haircut as I am in dire need of one.
3) private dining area in the fancy Regency Bar and Grill offered the most delicious of bites. We sampled shrimp skewers, beef sliders, steak tartare, goat cheese crostini, lemon meringue tarts and dark chocolate brownies (omg!!). everything was absolutely divine. I especially enjoyed the shrimp — nice char, seasoned and cooked perfectly. The signature cocktail was also tasty — gin, jalapeño syrup and lime — nice and spicy. Didn’t get to finish it though. we were offered wine and champagne during the previous tours and I was so buzzed already!
I had such an amazing time. Julien was so personable and hilarious. I thought it was so awesome that he was making the rounds to chat with us. Thanks to all the staff, Julien, and Ruggy for organizing such an amazing event. I can’t wait for my hair appointment! !
