Specialties
We specialize in fun-filled food tours of NYC’s Lower East Side, Chinatown, and Little Italy. We offer a very personal experience by limiting our public tours to 8 people. As a small group, we go into 8 stores and taste at least 8 food items, which is a great sensory adventure.
Whether exploring NYC with family, friends, or on your own, you will experience the old-world charm and the vibrancy of these multi-ethnic neighborhoods. You will learn the history and food culture of these areas while savoring local flavors.

History
Established in 2001.
Growing up in Louisiana, eating was my favorite pastime. Whether enjoying a crawfish boil or chewing on a sugar cane stalk, food was fun. I wanted to experience foods of the world, so I began searching out local flavors and «hidden gems» wherever I went. Moving to NYC in 1989, I continued my culinary explorations and began sharing my food knowledge to others through the Enthusiastic Gourmet Food Tours in 2001.
Meet the Business Owner
Susan R.
Business Owner
Susan is an explorer and a knowledge-seeker by nature. When it comes to food, her enthusiasm bursts forth. Whether it’s scrambling over the rocky coast of the Atlantic Ocean in Portugal to hunt for sea urchin… or carrying a durian, the «king of all fruits» and the vilest smelling, onto a crowded plane… or rolling gozleme with the locals in Turkey, Susan is continuously learning and sharing her love of food with others.
After a successful career at Federated Department stores, including managing Bloomingdale’s store operations and The Cellar at Macy’s South, Susan received her Culinary Certificate at the French Culinary Institute in NYC. She also studied Pastry Arts, Chinese cooking technique, and food writing at the New School, the Asian Cultural Exchange, and the Institute of Culinary Education in New York. Susan received her certificate in Food Protection from the New York City Department of Health and is a member of NYC&Co.
