Entitled Cat

I’m very relieved to have found Entitled Cat, because relying on friends to catsit is a crapshoot, and other services we tried have been hit or miss. Service was easy to schedule, and they offered a discounted ten-​pack of visits — great for those of us who go in and out of town frequently, often with short notice. Our cat sitter Lisa came over before our trip and met our three cats, took pictures of all their hiding places and copious notes on their care and feeding — she was exactly the type of friendly, smart, responsible, cat-​loving person you’d feel comfortable leaving your cats (and the keys to your apartment) with. While away, we received photos of our cats and updates via text — VERY helpful for a neurotic cat mom like me – and the cats looked like they were having a blast playing with the toys she brought. When we got home, the cats weren’t freaked out at all, as they have been when we left them in the care of friends or sitters. Even the super shy one seemed blasé about our absence and the presence of someone new. Again, it’s a real relief to have found a reliable cat sitter who I can trust to care for my kitties.

This business fills a need in New York — cat-​specific care for people who travel. They offer an excellent service that begins with a consultation interview, where they figure out the lay of the land and plan for your felines when you’re away. The operative showed up on time every day she said she would be there, and took photographic proof that our furry children were fed and played with, as advertised. Use these people, there’s little that compares to it.
