Thank you very much for all your help last night.
Epic recovered all my files from my Western Digital nightmare. My Hard Drive fell down a flight of stairs as I was grabbing it out of my bag.
I knew it was toast by the hard fall, so I didn’t bother plugging it in afterwards.
My friend suggested I call this company. — They came through 100%.
Excellent experience and very prompt service! By the way, dont ever set a password on these things if you got one. I did, and it wasn’t fun.
This company is ²⁴⁄₇. They recovered my files within 5 days and were nice enough to let me book a late appointment to get the files. They put them on a HGST which they said is better.

Thanks to Unilocal,I found this company just in time. My CF Card died on me when I came back from my trip. I think it might have been the x-​ray machine at the airport, since it was working fine before my flight.
Their tech recovered all my pictures and 4K videos overnight. Way faster than what others quoted. Really affordable, and best of all I didn’t need to send it somewhere.

Three days is all it took their wonderful Technicians to get my files out of my dead hard drive.
It was working one minute; then right when I got home from a meeting, the little devil decided to start clicking ever so slightly when i plugged it into my Macbook. I called a few places but the only company that was open were these life savers.
Their technician picked up my hard drive on Friday night, then called me with an estimate a few hours later. I gave them the Go and crossed my fingers. They gave me an update on Sunday night which was a little later than I expected, but at least they gave me some good news. I had to fly out last night so they sent me a link online and I downloaded all my recovered files today! They pretty much got everything that I wanted. There were some files that had some issues but nothing critical.
They pretty much saved my life with their prompt professional service. I had no other back up for most of these files and needed some of them for my trip.
I’m all set now and highly recommend them.

I never thought I would need something like this until it happened over the week.
I had a G-​RAID with all my family Pictures, Videos and biz project files in it. It all of a sudden decides to fail on me. I had no other copy or backup.
I called GT Support and they advised me to swap out the Hard Drive that failed with a new one but that didn’t seem to work. I again tried calling gt support over the weekend but couldn’t reach them. I called a few places but they weren’t available, while other companies needed me to send it out to them. I then called Epic where they told me they can’t give me an estimate without seeing your Hard Drive first. Since they seemed to know what they were talking about and had a fast turn-​around time, I went with them.
Then one of their guys popped up at my door within an hour, took it back their lab, and called me that night with an Estimate. Their estimate was less than 3 other places I called prior.
So today their guy pops up at my door with all my recovered files other than great advice on what to buy and use. THAT IS SERVICE! — These guys just saved me thousands.
They truly work around the clock. I will recommend Epic to all my friends and biz associates. Thank You Epic! :-)

Just in time for my flight. The only thing that sucks is I have to reinstall all my apps from scratch. I have no complaints about their service.

For anyone looking for help in the middle of the night, and raid data recovery super heroes, epic data recovery labs can definitely deliver. Epic recovered all our important files when our in house technicians couldn’t.
They also recovered deleted files from my Mac Book Air Laptop so that we can work on time sensitive projects while they worked on our Server.
These guys work round the clock, and kept us updated on the progress.
The only thing I wish was included was new external hard drive for the recovered files. I kinda missed that bit in the fine print. Nonetheless, they came through despite the insane negative reviews posted on here.

If anyone ever needs data recovery services for their xMac Mini Server with File Vault enabled encryption these guys are the professionals to call! They even recovered files from our LVM raid in the interim as we waited for the main server to be recovered.
We honestly had 3 other companies come check it out over the past week and could not salvage anything! Epic recovered all our important mission-​critical files within 48 hours. They definitely deserve 5 Stars!

Good news Unilocalers, I am still breathing free air and was never cuffed and read my Miranda Rights. Never heard back. Was just reminded of this review and re-​reading it I was being much too lenient, getting threatened with legal action for a business request is pretty harsh. Look at reviews for this company outside of Unilocal.I think it will better inform your decision. If I had to get my hardrive recovered again, I would not use this company. John the owner of the company never gave me his last name, and does not put his last name on documents so when I needed to get in touch with him and his company because he was not answering his phone and he uses a blocked number to call, it made me realize I have no other way of contacting any one else in the company to retrieve my hard drive regardless of whether or not they fixed it. It took me over 3 months to retrieve my files and after he missed two appointments where we confirmed via phone that he would make the scheduled appointment, I was concerned I would not get my files back at all. I asked to meet in a public place as he made me uncomfortable over the phone after I expressed my disappointment in him not showing up a second time for a confirmed appointment. Then I read reviews outside of Unilocal on this company and gave me the warning I had not received from Unilocal that I would have been better using a different company. I tried to go to his store front, but there was no address to specify if it actually existed, so there was no one else I could get in touch with or physically meet other than John and other than by contacting him via phone. He told me several times he is the face of the business, no one else in the lab talks to customers. It found this strange as I asked to speak to anyone else in the company since I wasn’t comfortable speaking with him since over several phone calls he aggressively spoke for minutes and even yelled and insulted me while I was telling him it was inappropriate and not professional. The entire process and transaction was labor intensive, as I had to speak very calmly and approach him strictly via email after that conversation because speaking on the phone continued to turn into him speaking over me and repeating himself about how his company worked. He consistently contradict himself and would say he was busy with several clients. I suggested that they hire more people or take a lesser work load since his ability to service his clients such as myself suffered, and then in response he said he wasn’t that busy and he managed his company fine. He also claimed that he had my files on a new hardrive twice and when I called to pick them up so he wouldn’t have to travel to me, he said because I didn’t call back in time he deleted the files and it would take several days to copy them onto a new hard drive again. He told me he used the hard drive for another client and had to erase my files in case I was one of those clients that would get frustrated and never call him again. He made it sound like this happens to him often. Why he deleted the files from the new hard drive made no sense to me as I’d been in touch with him the entire time saying I had the cash to pay for my files. He made me feel helpless as I tried to ignore all of his comments and speak to him calmly in hopes of getting my files returned as I had years of photos on them. If I made a complaint about his services or mentioned he needed to let me know if he wasn’t going to make our appointment he would turn it around and try to tell me he was doing me a favor by going back in and trying to retrieve specific files and that I had no say in the matter and that I was taking advantage of his «kindness.» He never apologized for missing our appointments and instead blamed me for taking advantage of his kind act of doing a second recovery, which was supposed to be a part of the deal and not any extra service. Reality was when we met the first time after he recovered my files he said in the contract and in his service that if I the customer were not satisfied he would go back and do a second run at recovering the files. He did and this is when everything went sour. After the second attempt he held it over my head and I was paying nearly 1k to recover my files. The entire interaction after he did a second attempt at recovering my files was exhausting and he threatened me telling me I wasn’t aloud to take a phone call with him while someone else was in the room, that it was in our contract and that I was violating some agreement. He had many irrational arguments, and none served the customer. He was hostile and insulting. I’ve dealt with people like this before I was trained to react very calmly, so I would try and calm him down each time this happened as my biggest need was to get my files returned. I think he can recover a hardrive but there is no security you will get it back if he is too busy, or if you complain. If you are anything but nice he is insulting, aggressive, and hostile. I will never use this business again, and I recommend Tekserve and Best Buy over this company as they are more trustworthy.

I highly recommend Epic Data. My hard drive died and the first 18 months of pictures and videos documenting my daughters life was gone. Yes, I know I should have backed it up. John at Epic was really calming and made me feel like there was hope. I am not a computer illiterate. I removed the drive and enclosed it, then attaching it to a new drive and nothing. I downloaded the free versions over several recovery softwares and still nothing.
In the end they retrieved all the data and I had everything neatly backed up on an external drive. The price was below anything anyone else quoted me and they do the recovery themselves rather than farming it out.

Here is the saga of my blackberry — battery starts going wacko, then suddenly the phone dies and keeps trying to restart, but fails. I take it to a Sprint store where I get my service. They look at it and say it might have water damage and is beyond repair, so I need to buy a new one. I hadn’t backed it up, so I’m freaking out that I lost my photos. Desperate, I dial Epic Data Recovery Labs. A friendly guy says, «Let me ask you a stupid question, have you tried changing the battery?» I told him I had placed all my trust into Sprint. He suggests I start with testing another battery before doing anything else and assures me that if the battery is not at fault, he will do whatever he can to extract my pictures from the memory chip in the phone! I use his free advice, get a new battery and — Voilà — my phone is working again. If it wasn’t for EDRL, I might have sent my phone to Sprint and lost all my stuff. Will definitely go back to them with a real problem! THANKS!

It is clear to me that Epic Data Recovery prefers to communicate to me via Unilocal as oppose to my frequent emails, texts and phone calls. They prefer to communicate with me publicly as oppose to privately. As noted in earlier reviews, I have been issued a cease and desist letter. I’m not commenting on Epic Data Recovery but I’m just talking about my experience. I would like to make it clear that what I wrote was my experience with this company.
I also want to make it known that when you sign a contract with Epic Data Recovery you are signing a contract that says that you can NOT make a bad review or comment about the service you received or don’t receive in my case. This is simply a warning about my experience. Beware that when you sign a contract it’s not a contract about your service. It’s a contract that supposedly prohibits you about making comments about your experience. Thus I was issued a cease and deist letter. I want to make it clear that I am not telling anyone what to do. I am giving you a picture of my experience. Also please read the comments from the filtered reviews that are here on Unilocal.According to Jon «EVERY SERVICE WE PROVIDE IS AGREED UPON IN WRITING BEFORE WE TAKE ON OR START ANY DATA RECOVERY CASE.» I never agreed to anything in writing, so why won’t they give me personal property back.
I will be going forward with my issue. Even though this matter could simply be resolved by them just giving my hard drive back. Unilocal is a place to make my review. I feel threatened but not intimidated by Epic Data Recovery. I will be following up with this matter as well as keep you posted on the progress via Unilocal

I came to Epic Data Recovery for a damaged USB flash drive. Other places wanted to charge my $ 400-​$ 650 to recover the data and would not even guarantee that their process would work. At Epic, I had my data on a DVD in less than 24 hours! Price was less than $ 200 (very reasonable!). Just so you know, they have a policy where if the estimate is less than a certain amount and you choose not to use their services, you owe them a minimum $$, a «Don’t waste my time» clause as part of the contract. They explain it to you before you sign any contract. Also, they have another location in Manhattan, and if you drop off one place you can pick up another location, they also do pick ups and drop offs, etc.
PS They accept credit cards, but there is a 4% processing fee, but they also accept cash and check.

I had wonderful experience with Epic. They came to pick up a tiny pen drive from home and delivered it back to door, both for free. They also explained with patience on every detail whenever I had any questions. All my data was recovered within 12 hours and my pen drive was returned to door at home within 24 hours, even though it was already 8:30PM dinner time… And the price they charged was very reasonable! What an excellent team! A definite thumb-​up!

That one star review is nuts. Nothing about this place seemed shady to me. What company wouldn’t get out legal documentation before they attempt to recover critical data? Having a contract just made the process feel more legitimate.
I would have given them 5 stars except a miscommunication meant they didn’t get back to me very quickly. My hard drive on my mac was fried, and I hadn’t backed up. EDR Labs recovered everything off the drive, no problem. They came to my home both to pick up and drop off. John sat with me in the lobby of my building and showed me where everything was on the drive, so I could confirm before paying. He also gave me a few recommendations on how to protect my files in the future.
It was a good experience. They came across very professional and confident.

My Company Server went down last Friday, and I found Epic online.
I called them that night and they answered right away! An actual Technician got on the phone with our IT Dept, and after a few minutes they were at our door. They recovered everything off our Dell Raid Server.
