Essentia Mattress

Great service. Friendly staff. My mattress was delivered right on time. The guys brought it in and took my old stuff out. I slept well for the first time in a long time last night. THANKS!

I bought the Essentia Classic 8 1.5 years ago. It has been a dream to sleep on! Seriously, so incredibly comfortable. Expensive, but worth every penny.

My husband and I have been looking at mattresses for about two years, suffering all the while on a very plush mattress that left us feeling achey every night. We discovered Essentia online, then visited a store in Santa Monica CA, and then finally REvisited a store again in NYC. Money was the main thing holding us back — it isn’t cheap at all. We decided to plunge in and now are happy to share that this mattress is AMAZING.
We have had it for about 3 – 4 weeks now.
Initially, yes, it smells. It is not a toxic type of smell, more like a musty one. Of course, just from the production of it. Unfortunately, we couldn’t sleep on the mattress for about 3 nights. In a NYC apartment, the smell is just too constricting. It has now been several weeks and the smell dissipated, but does linger slightly. I don’t worry that it won’t go away.
How is the mattress to sleep on? Great. I am a light sleeper, everything wakes me up. Finally, no longer am I woken up by my husband getting into bed beside me. This is huge!!! I don’t even notice it now! When I lay down, I am in a deep slumber. Something about the firm and yet molding quality of the mattress just absorbs all of your energy and relaxes you. I never had a tempurpedic, so I don’t have that comparison. I would also share that the mattress has not been hot at all, like I have heard about Tempurpedics.
I highly recommend the mattress, and despite the high cost, it has been worth it so far.
Also, call the Essentia stores because they always have specials! And definitely get the pillows included in a package — or pay slightly higher for the perfect pillow for you. I am sure that the pillow greatly contributes to the overall comfort and alignment that I feel when I lay down.
Lastly, I found the woman running the store to be super friendly and helpful. She had a nice relaxed vibe, not a hustle hustle let me sell you the most expensive mattress vibe. Totally opposite. (Also I experienced the same relaxed atmosphere in Santa Monica).

My experience at the Essentia store was great. Debra who was helping us was very informative and friendly. She gave us extensive information on each of the mattresses and helped us understand which one would suit my needs best. With her help and after trying out all the mattresses at the store I was able to find the perfect one for me. They were also able to expedite the shipping process to help match my needs. Essentia mattresses are not only super comfortable but I love that they are 100% natural and 97% organic. Can’t wait until I get to sleep on mine!

A different set of people were working at this store from the last time I visited in December. Buying a mattress this time was a smooth and painless process. Checking in on Unilocal gave me 15% off, which is a significant amount if you’re buying a mattress!
I travel a lot and was afraid I would miss my mattress delivery and it would be sent back if I wasn’t in town, but I was able to arrange a specific day for the delivery. We’ll see how it goes, and I will comment on the quality of the mattress after I receive it.

After visiting three different chain mattress stores and being preyed upon by aggressive salespeople, I expected a heavenly experience here, judging from previous reviews, and it ended up falling flat. I realize now, all of those (fake?) reviews that are positive are written by people who have written one or zero other reviews. take that for what it’s worth.
I decided to go directly here from a Sleepy’s so I would have the feel of the Tempurpedic on my back to compare. I arrived and there was a sign on the door that said «I’m out to lunch, call me.» So I called the number and there was no answer. Then I tried ringing up and was buzzed in, strangely, since I expected the salesperson to be at lunch. I arrived and there was a woman and a man talking in the showroom, which was sparse and the floors a bit dusty. No one greeted me so I asked if either of them worked here, and they both joked «no, we’re just here laying on mattresses.» I honestly couldn’t tell if they were kidding or serious because of the note on the door. After continuing to poke around by myself, I realized that the man, who was wearing a green tie dye St. Patrick’s Day shirt and sunglasses, was the salesman. He had the sunglasses on the whole time. I’m all for casualwear in the workplace, but it was just weird. I was also a little shocked when one of the mattresses I tried fell through the frame onto the floor when I tried it (I weight 120lbs), and the man apologized and said one of the slats was broken on that bed. Not cool.
The weirdness of the sales experience would be OK if the product was as amazing as I’d hoped from reading about it, but the feel of the beds wasn’t impressive. They’re soft and foamy and all, but they don’t do that molding thing that the Tempurpedics do, though I wish they did since I’d like to get something less toxic than a Tempurpedic.
The whole experience was surreal. Not recommended. If I’m going to pay $ 4000 for a queen sized bed, I would want a little more professionalism and a way better product. Buyer beware.

Don’t expect the store to be open during advertised hours. We dragged ourselves up to midtown and were there at 6:30 tonight (Saturday) and the store was closed and not answering their phone. You lost a sale Essentia.

I wanted to wait a good month or so of sleeping on our new essentia Energie Opus before writing a review. First of all the salesmen are very helpful with zero pressure to buy. Second of all these mattresses were the only ones we couldn’t get off when trying to decide which to buy (from multiple different mattress stores). The only pitfall were the prices which were more than we expected to pay, but bit the bullet since this will hopefully be our bed for a looong time.
It’s been a bit over a month and the only problem I have now is I can’t get out of bed and I want to get into bed earlier. I think charlie’s grandparents from charlie and the chocolate factory had one of these mattresses. It took a good week after geting the mattress to firm up to what it felt like in the store (was really soft at first and I was a bit worried). It’s such a supportive and ridiculously comfortable bed I’m so glad we didn’t get a different mattress. Oh yeah and no petrol chemicals is a definite plus…

After a year of research for my dream memory foam bed Essentia hit me on a complete level. I try and buy as locally as possible so I was stoked to find that their mattresses are made in North america. Their mattresses are durable yet biodegradable (hyper eco-​friendly). The customer service was top notch when ordering and delivery was perfect and exciting; I loved watching the mattress expand and grow from its tiny eco packaging. Plus it smells delicious!
My Dormeuse mattress is a dream to sleep on, It feels like a warm hug. I hate being away from it when I travel but that makes it all the better when I come back to it! I would recommend Essentia to anyone looking for one of the most comfortable eco organic latex memory foam mattresses in the world!!:) Its an investment but worth every saved penny on your health.

The customer service is great. Though «money back guarantee» means 91% of purchase price. We didn’t get to try the mattress we were actually interested in at the NY store, it was not in stock. We were told that a small person side lying and a big person laying on their back or stomach would not hit bottom on the Classic Skinny, this was not true for the one that we ordered. Their misinformation lead us to get this mattress that we are not satisfied with entirely in the end. We remedied the situation by putting a 3″ layer of our own latex topper from a previous bed under the Classic Skinny we got. So far so good. I recommend getting any of the other mattresses, which we tried at their store. Also, I have not seen any improvement in my shoulder problem, thoracic outlet syndrome, I still wake up with some numbness in my arms after side lying.

As a lifelong sleeper (cause who in this world isn’t), I have tried all kinds of beds: traditional to temperpedic, water to sleep number. Hands down, essentia is as good as it gets. Unlike other temperdic-​ish bed manufacturers, essentia doesn’t use cheap chemical processes that create a carcinogenic cocktail to rest your body on. Their all natural process creates a superior sleeping experience. I am a warm sleeper, my spouse is a cold sleeper, the bed adjusts to this so that both are comfortable. On top of that, I wake up well rested everytime. I just wish that every where I traveled had these beds… it keeps me coming home and proclaiming my satisfaction with our bed. Essentia puts their money where there mouth is and provided hybrid drivers with a discount. A+ for them. You won’t be disappointed.

Is it possible to fall in love… with a bed?! Because I’m in love with my new Essentia mattress! This mattress is almost too comfortable to describe. It’s sort of like floating… but with total support. Oh, and it just happens to be made of natural and entirely of non-​toxic materials too. This is bed heaven.
If you’re in the market for a new mattress… if you care about ‘greening’ your life, your home, and the environment… please, please, please give Essentia a serious look! My experience with Essentia has been pleasant from beginning to end. The staff is knowledgable, friendly, and prepared to answer any & all questions you might have. My mattress was shipped quickly and arrived without any problems.
