I love this little Eastern European grocery on Forest Avenue, just a few doors away from Norma’s café. I believe that the owners are Serbian, and they have a fantastic array of products imported from Eastern Europe. I can browse around this tiny shop for an hour and always find something new and amazing. The owners are incredibly sweet, and they get their fruits and vegetables from local farms so they are always outstandingly fresh. They have the best tomatoes, onions, peaches, and peppers, and other seasonal vegetables on occasion. They’re also incredibly affordable. I actually pick up a lot of my baking needs from here — I get European sea salts, baking powders and baking sodas, olive or sunflower oils (the owner actually just turned me on to sunflower oil as opposed to olive oil, and I love it — you get twice as much for less than half the price and it also has tons of health benefits) and things like Five Roses flour or imported sugars. They have a great imported chocolates section (my boyfriend swears by their dark chocolate bars) as well as jarred goods like Ajvar, all organic and imported from Europe. Some of their nut butters and preserves looked delicious — I hope to try those next time! They also have a small refrigerator with spinach pies and phyllo dough, and they have a refrigerated case in front with imported sausages and coldcuts, kielbasas, feta cheese, milk and eggs. I love going to Europa for the majority of the items needed for my meals, and then hitting up Euro Market for all of the interesting accoutrements. I adore this place!
