I work in the building of this place and am never going back. It is extremely unsanitary and the employees couldn’t care less about hygiene. One of the grossest places I’ve ever been to in Manhattan.

Worst breakfast wrap I’ve had. Spend less money and get better quality elsewhere. The size of the special breakfast wrap is also pathetic.

Usually my pasta is good. Today, however, the«manager» took over and I was left with a lukewarm meal. Will only get salads from there.

Split pea soup is amazing. I usually come here 3 out 5 days for lunch. Lines move fast which is great around lunch time. Today ordered from their pasta menu. I appreciate the location offering a whole wheat option. They have a good selection of proteins and veggies for your pasta. The only reason why I took off one star is because the chef wasn’t paying attention because he was too busy trying to get everyone’s order at the same time. He completely missed when I asked for chicken with my pasta.

Fresh vegetables. Small lines. There is a place to sit on Broadway, so technically, they have outdoor seating. Oh, if you get a salad, make sure to get grilled asparagus and Brussels sprouts!!!

Had the avocado tomato sandwich and it was very bland. The vegetables didn’t seem fresh. The service was good although they seemed stumped when I asked what their veggie options were. I would come back if I didn’t have other options.

I’m not sure what’s going on with Europa as an entire company, however, I find that the prices have seriously sky-rocketed. I recently ordered a salad that I have ordered many times before and the cost turned out to be over $ 11 rather than the $ 8.00 I’ve spent before for the exact same thing. At this location, the staff is rude and unfriendly. Please don’t act like making me a bagel is doing me a favor. I’m paying for it, aren’t I? But the food is sub-par, you’re better off going to Pret down the street.

I’ve been coming to Europa Café for my daily breakfast for over 10 years now, and I don’t know what is going on but I’m ready to throw in the towel. I don’t even get anything complicated, either an iced tea(which is great) or coffee and a bagel. Bagels. The bagels. Wow… I had no idea that it was that difficult to mess up something so easy. Most of the time the bagel is either black and burned or dry and raw, maybe they will slap on the cream cheese that I asked for(mostly in the empty hole space) or they will completely leave out toppings that I pay for(tomato, cucumber etc). Sometimes there are traces of peanut butter in the food, had that happen to me and a coworker last week, I don’t have a peanut allergy but that sloppy mistake can kill someone. Europa Café, I hope that someone sues you for this lack of care. The salad I don’t recommend either unless you want soup quantity of dressing. They couldn’t care less there and it shows. The guys are way in over their head, when you start speaking clearly that you want a flat sesame bagel, they are looking you in the eyes and grabbing a regular sesame bagel. If I have to babysit I better get paid for it. This place is not worth my hard earned money anymore nor the aggravation.

Horrible food and rude service. Also completely overpriced, even for NYC.

The bagel and cream cheese was pretty good ad everyone was pretty decent. The reason why it got 3 stars? I’m deathly allergic to peanut butter and even though I got a bagel with cream cheese, I guess the guy didn’t change his gloves from the last time he made a bagel with PB, because I got some on my bagel. Granted this is partly my fault since I should have told the guy, but you’d think they’d know a bit about cross contamination. Otherwise it seems like a decent place to grab a bite! I’ll just definitely be more vocal about my allergies.

Set your expectations right and you won’t be disappointed. Looking for upscale décor, experimental cuisine, and lots of «A lister» people? Yeah… this isn’t the place for you. Alternatively, are you looking for the gritty, «real NYC», with greasy counters, angry cooks, and surly cashiers? Nope, not here either. If instead, you’re searching for decent food, clean, somewhat generic diner/deli décor, and somewhere quiet enough that you can have a conversation, this is the place. The food is fresh, often cooked to order(depending on what you order), and coffee is excellent. Reasonably priced, for the city. Breakfast, coffee, and juice for three adults came in at $ 28.

After an hour of scouring my work area for something to eat, I ended up at Europa Café. What a spacious dining area! You won’t have trouble finding a seat to eat. The old-fashioned tuna sandwich is pretty filling and relatively healthy, but hot damn $ 8 for that??! Guess that’s what the«Europa» is referring to…

Listen I love the salads here. They are the same as Chop’t but half the price however what I DONOT love is that even though this place closes at 4 pm, you can not get a salad or sandwich at 2:30 because they have finished restocking and put nearly everything away. I have to eat lunch at 2:30(I work around the corner) and can not believe they are counting cash and putting stuff away this early. This time they had no spinach or chickpeas for my salad, last time they didn’t have something else. I mean if I packed my things at 4:30 everyday in anticipation of my 6 pm departure from the office I would be fired. What is this all about? Today I walked out empty handed. I am done with this place.

Maybe it’s because I only ate here because I needed to use the restroom, but I didn’t care much for the food here. It felt like eating at sam’s club or costcos. The food was good but it felt too premade. I guess what I’m trying to say is that it wasn’t fresh.

I go here pretty often bcs its right across my job. I usually get either Margarita pizza or the(west coast?) vegetarian wrap. I got kinda tired of the former so Ive been getting the latter. The vegg wrap is tha shizznit. It has generouuus portions of chickpeas, alfalfa, sundried tomatoes and delicious goat cheese wrapped in a wheat wrap. Mmm. Get ready for a mouthful… of fun

These places are all over midtown. Typical offering of soups, salads, and sandwiches. I was a little annoyed at the salad pricing. There is a base charge then you pay for toppings. The base charge was not clearly advertised. My toppings were $ 6.50 which the salad maker put on my slip. When I went to pay they added the base charge and I was surprised to see the total come out above $ 10.

Europa Café should be renamed«Laura Café.» This is my PLACE. The cashier in the far right of the store is my homegirl. She knows how I like my coffee and when she sees me at 852am every morning, she orders someone to whip up my special blend. We chat while the coffee brews and I always walk away with a smile(and my latte). The granola, fruit and yogurt mix is on point. The granola is borderline oatmeal in that it is very soft, so when you’re eating the mixture it’s as though you’re eating oatmeal and yogurt, which I’ve found to be amazing. I’ve become disenchanted with Starbucks, especially since Europa swooped in to win over my heart. When my coworkers see me walk in with my Europa coffee, they know.

I’ve only been here for breakfast a few times. Service is pretty quick. Their bagels are actually better than I expected them to be.

Europe is to style what polaroid is to photography – the association is clear but times have now changed and the world has moved on. Along those lines, I studiously avoided Europas, imagining them to be populated by a hipster Scandinavian crowd turned rich from a fortuitous victory of the kroner over the dollar – the same crowd that one would find in Café Gitane. Indeed, it took the paucity of lunch options around my workplace to prompt me to try this Europa a few months ago. Located a few blocks South of the epicenter of Times Square, this Europa seems to be run by a jocund crew of Mexicans with nary a linkage to Europe. The layout is open, in sharp contrast to nearby Pret, Hale & Hearty and Café Duke. As you enter, counters to the left offer a selection of sandwiches, soups and pastries, while the salad station dominates the right. A narrow assortment that pales in comparison to Café Duke in breadth. However, the limited choice doesn’t deter from the efficiency of the salad staff. Prodding you with a barrage of «anything else?“s as you hurriedly survey the salad bar, the staff’s urgency is matched only by the nervousness of the casual diner visiting Europa for the first time, unintentionally picking chick peas over mixed beans, with little time to make up their mind. The salad chopping machines come next in the assembly line, with one dedicated to salads with only vegetarian toppings. And finally, the wide selection of dressings. This Europa has ample seating in the back and a cluster of chairs and tables in the front, so you shouldn’t have trouble munching your greens in a seated position, even during the busy lunch hours. I wouldn’t cancel my brunch reservation at Jean-Georges to come to Europa, but if you are stuck in the area you had better give Europa its due — a visit or two.
