They shouldn’t be allowed to have such a great location. Service is crap. And its even pricey. And no card accepted come on! such a big potential, such a big waste

Living right above them, I often would order a bagel or pizza from this location. Staff are very friendly, but definitely need a translator to get first-time orders across. The food here is what you’d expect from your average NYC bagel spot. Pizza — expensive and not too good. Heavily portioned sauce. 2⁄5 Bagels — well-crafted lox bagels. Haven’t had any better. 4⁄5 Sandwiches — not worth mentioning. 2⁄5 Tables are wobbly and chairs are wooden and broken. Cash only with an ATM on the side.

The food was just alright nothing great but doable if I had to eat here again. Just your run of the mill place I got a chicken sandwich special with buffalo sauce. On a real negative note the guys working the counter can’t speak a lick of English which makes ordering a pain and paying worse. I had to explain to the guy at the register what I got several times before I pointed to the paper on the other counter showing the price. Cash only just a heads up.

Worst bagel spot EVER. Bagel was stale, cream cheese was rancid and service is slow and stupid. Avoid.

This place really squanders what could be a bagel monopoly of the NYU dorms. Beat up interior, lots of chicken-scratch menu signs, dubiously fresh offerings. Owners seem to putting in the bare minimum to a suffering café that masochistically adds one more menu offering(pizza!, salad!, smoothies!, espresso!) after another at the demise of their sandwich quality. In short: avoid and walk the extra bit to Murray’s.

Some of the best bagels in the area. Typically warm and fresh as they’re cooked in house. Also they have great flavored coffee and are reasonably priced. Only downside is that they’re cash only. Tons of seating inside and conveniently located to union square where you can also take your bagel to eat outside.

Solid bagels… are they worth going out of the way for? Maybe not. But in a rush, on the way, they absolutely fine.

The best thing about Everything Bagels is that they are consistent. At least in terms of delivery. I even have the same delivery guy usually, and he’s as warm and genial as one can be. Much like Café Rakka, I order delivery from them around three times a week– almost always for breakfast. Yes, I know what you’re thinking. Breakfast? Three times a week? Get your sweet hiney out of the apt and pick up your own gd breakfast. Well that’s nice of you to think. In the meantime my deliveries are great. If I’m hungover in the morning and want a slice of pizza delivered to my door? BAM. There it is. At my door. Is my slice going to be as great as it would be at one of our fame’d Brooklyn establishments? No. Obviously. It’s actually not very good at all. But I’m also not too concerned about that when I’m hungover, either. My favorites are the juices and the smoothies. Mostly the juices. The ABC is a solid go-to as is the Rejuvenator. And for a dollar more you get 1⁄3 more! It’s a win for your health and a win for your wallet. Coolio.

Came here to grab a quick sandwich. The guys that work here don’t seem super friendly but my turkey club was pretty tasty. Although, I think I might need to stop judging places based on their turkey club. It’s almost impossible to screw up a turkey club. Just gotta remember the bacon and it’s bound to be half decent. Tons of seating inside and the place was clean. I may try this place again if I’m in the area.

Thankfully I didn’t read the reviews before stopping into Everything Bagels Café. Usually I rely on the reviews of my fellow Unilocal reviewers to give me the scoop on places before I try them and I personally think the 2.5 star rating for«Everything» is pretty harsh. I wound up getting fresh pizza — yes, I know I should have gotten the bagel… but the pizza looked good. I can say that I was probably overcharged. They had a sign which stated(2) slices of pizza for $ 3.95 with a can of soda and I wound up paying $ 18 for 4 slices of pizza and two cans of soda. $ 4 for a slice of pizza, seems a bit steep. But shame on me for not asking the cashier for a receipt — although it wasn’t offered either? Wound up eating a Chicken Ranch, Taco and Meat lovers Pizza. Pretty great pizza. The dough was crusted«just right» and the flavors were delectable. I couldn’t help but notice that Everything Bagels has over 20 different cream cheese spreads for their customers to choose from… and my boyfriend did happen to point out that their bagels on visible display were looking mighty fresh and tasty. Overall, I would have given this place a 4, if they hadn’t overcharged me and the person after me. Word of advice: check to make sure the cash register is being«rang-up» correctly and bring it to their attention if it doesn’t seem right.

They say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. By this measure, I declare myself insane for repeatedly trying Everything Bagels, perhaps hoping to explain what culinary allure allows it to survive in the East Village. After dozens of visits(mainly due to the proximity to my apartment), I am still at a loss. Let’s start with the bagels. For a place called Everything Bagels, one would expect a passable Everything Bagel. Instead, one finds a doughy, stale-tasting paperweight with an occasional seed or salt flake scattered about the outside. The same applies to their other varieties. The worst offender here is the coffee, which has the dirty, thin taste of vending machine swill in a hospital waiting room. It is served so hot that, on multiple occasions, I have not been able to even sip it until after I have finished my bagel(even in their inexplicably arctic air-conditioned space). The overheating seems to leach any trace of flavor out of the brew before it reaches the customer. Today, the coffee was so bad, I threw away ¾ of a cup and headed to a proper coffeehouse. To add insult to injury, the service is surly, the staff often gets orders wrong, and they don’t accept credit card. I would like to publicly declare an end to my insanity. I hereby boycott Everything Bagels. With fantastic bagels abounding in the neighborhood(my go-to being Bagel Café just 4 blocks south), there is no reason to deal with this subpar nonsense.

I have stopped into Everything Bagels for a quick bite a couple of times due to its proximity to my apartment. It’s just a really average and mediocre café that serves bagels, sandwiches and pizza by the slice. With their amazing location, outdoor seating and large space, I really wish they served better food. BTW, cash only.

I had to grab a bagel this morning without going out of my way and unfortunately Everything Bagels Café was the only establishment to fit those conditions. We have carb bombs here that are surrounded by Tompkins Square Bagels to the east and Murrays to the west so my suggestion would be to walk a couple of avenues over and see the best NYC has to offer instead of heading into this trap. The atmosphere has the appeal of a high school gym after a sweaty game of european handball and the floor has cracks in it, it looks unkempt. The chairs are flimsy plus they have had the same huge sign that says they sell pizza at $ 1.50 per slice for a few years now. It is not getting more customers in the door anymore, please ditch the sign and that is actually 50% above the prevailing price of crappy pizza in this $ 1 slice part of town. I walked in at around 10AM this morning and the pizza was already out for display and looked like an old pie, imagine how washed up it is by lunchtime?

Don’t usually write reviews of a bagel spot in the NY/NJ area. Most are pretty much the same but I do feel like this place has a few advantages over others. 1.) The coffee here was excellent. Rich, tasty, and not so freaking hot it needs 20 mins to cool down before you get to drink it. 2.) They have a desert case that looked so good I was seriously thinking of ditching my yogurt and breakfast bar lunch(BORING!) For a chocolate cake with graham cracker crust.(Mmmm) Anywho… I’m gonna have to remember this spot next time I’m down here and hit it up again.

Ew, I shouldn’t come here, but I do because I live so close. The bagels are awful — literally, I am not even joking, broke my mouth awful. Last time I got a bagel here I was hungover & tired & grumpy & their whole pay at a different register thing was really annoying & I go home to eat my nasty everything bagel(covered in way way way too much cream cheese — when I asked for light cream cheese, please) AND I bite into it. Hard as a rock. I literally scratched open my mouth chewing this piece of crap bagel. I was really hungry so at the time I didn’t care that much, but the roof of my mouth was seriously sore for like a day or two. Not even a joke. Not even funny. But kinda is funny how shitty this place is…

I was very hungry(when am I not?) and hadn’t had breakfast, so when I was in the area to pick up some tickets from Webster Hall, I started wandering around and found this spot. Their egg and sausage on a bagel was exactly what I hoped it would be when I walked in craving one. It was a little heavy on the eggs but that wasn’t really a problem. The bagel itself, pretty fresh, no complaints. In fact, when you’re that hungry, even a shitty bagel would do. But no, everything was really very good. Cash only but there’s an ATM to your right when you walk in.

I love sundried tomato cream cheese. When I get bagels that’s all I get on it, so I have tried it at several different places. I came here out of convenience. I was disappointed to learn that a plain bagel with sundried tomato cream cheese is $ 3.50 here, while I can get it for $ 2.95 at Bagelsmith in Williamsburg. That is a BIG difference! Bagelsmith’s cream cheese is way superior than at Everything Bagels too. In my opinion, a lot of places make the mistake of smearing waaaayy too much cream cheese on their bagels. I experienced just that here, and had to get half of it off for it to be edible for me. This place serves a lot of fruit juices as well. I got the 3RDAVESUMMERJUICE, which contains strawberries, watermelon and apples. It was $ 4.99 for a small, and it was so not worth the money. You can watch them make it with right in front of you, but the concoction was just not that great and it didn’t even taste that fresh. Don’t think I’ll be coming back here!

This bagel sandwich was NOJOKE. A delicious, toasted whole wheat bagel with scallion cream cheese, lox, and tomato. The scallion cream cheese had just enough bite & oniony flavor from the scallions that perfectly complimented the lox, and the acidity of the tomato just added an extra level of flavor. Do yourself a favor and eat this sandwhich.
