As far as chain pizza places go around here, this is pretty good. Clean place, the service was just angry enough to make me feel at home, and the pizza was good! The guy next to me was still using an iPod classic, so it’s also good enough for the hipsters of New York

Despite watching the guy throw and stretch the dough for making the pizza, this still tastes like your average mall pizza. But for a quick and inexpensive meal in NYC it does the trick.

Not the biggest pizza fan but needed a quick dinner to hold me over and decided to stop here because it was close and raining. I ordered two slices of pepp and sausage to go and the service was what I expected to be in New York. I always hear people brag about New York pizza and the water and it being the best, but for real it taste like mall pizza or sbarro.

When you’re in the Herald Square area and need a quick bite with sufficient seating and won’t cost you an arm and a leg, think to pop in here. The pizza won’t be mistaken for New York’s finest or gourmet but it does the trick. 4 of us stopped by here on Saturday while en route to the Auto Show and we had various slices, ranging from pepperoni, grandma, and buffalo chicken. Each of us were satisfied without order and my wife even commented on how good the buffalo chicken was. I’ve had better BC slices but Famous Famiglia’s was pretty good as well. The slices aren’t huge and being in this area means that the average slice costs a little more than you would want to pay. Still, all things considered, it’s not really a complaint because most every other place around here would cost you more. Had we more time, we may have ventured into another restaurant but we just wanted to make a quick pit stop on the way to our main destination for the day. I’d come back here again when I’m in the area and in a similar situation.

I don’t like pizza. I never have. I only came here because my husband and I needed a quick bite before a show. I got a slice of white and it was the single best piece of pizza I’ve ever had. The globs of ricotta were out of control good and I only wish there had been more of them! I loved it so much that after the show we came back and I got another! Delicious and I can’t wait to come back.

Simply put, some of the best NYC pizza I’ve had. They’ve got lots of varieties(about 10 when I was there), and AMAZING strombolis. Try the spinach one! The marinara they serve with it is THEBOMB. There’s not much to the interior, which is pretty typical for NYC pizza places. Reasonable prices, good food. My only minor complaint is the girl was kind of bitchy when I asked for a cup of water. Like really?!? It’s a pet peeve of mine when places get uptight with«But oh the cost of the cup!»

I’ve been making regular visits to this place for a few months now, since I’ve been craving their garlic knots on a regular basis, and they’re not as expensive as I feel like they could be(considering this is in Midtown Manhattan). However, after a recent visit to this location, I am reconsidering whether or not this restaurant is still deserving of my routine patronage. I order my usual 20 garlic knots, and I always watch the chef pick them out of the pile, placing them into a foil pan/container using tongs. The knots are tossed into the oven for a bit, taken out, closed with a clear lid, and placed in a bag with some cups of marinara sauce for dipping. Recently, I decided to eat them inside the premises, in light of the heavy rain outside. I watched the guy placing the garlic knots in the pan, and I could clearly see with my own two eyes that he didn’t put 20 as I requested(he only put 17). I simply shrugged this off(I’ve gotten more than 20 before), and went towards the restroom. I try to open the door, but it’s locked, and some rude, fat police officer sitting down across let’s out a «Hey!» I wasn’t so sure whether or not he was trying to get my attention, but all I remember was him giving me a rude look, as if I was trying to do something shady. This I also shrug off, and head back to the front to wait for my garlic knots. The chef decides to take them out of the oven prematurely simply because I had already returned from my failed attempt to use the restroom. I hold the tray in my hands, and stare at the knots, only counting 17 as I did earlier. And the man had the nerve to insist that there was more than 20 in there, when clearly he was wrong. I just walked away, paid for my food, ate quickly and left. Clearly, I think I’ve been here enough times that I should just stop going here if this is the treatment I, a regular customer, am going to get from this restaurant and everything about it. Also, skip the pizza here, there’s a $ 1 Pizza place just 3 blocks up north, and I’ve seen pizza parlors offer bigger calzones than what this Famiglia’s offers, and at lower prices too.

I went to New York for their New Years party at Time Square. I stopped at this place because it was nearby. The staff were friendly and the pictures of famous visitors gives you something to check out while you wait. I was blown away by how good the pie was. The crust was crispy and the sauce was to die for. I’d recommend this place to any of my friends.

This place is close to The New Yorker where my husband and I are staying. The pizza is pretty good. I had the motz and tom. The men here are not so friendly. Seem irritable. The woman looks unhappy. Not too bad for a quick bite.

We were supposed to try NY pizza supreme, but it closed on Christmas Eve at 8′ o clock, so we ended up taking this one instead. We ordered three slices, total amounted to 12.80. they were chicken, pepperoni and pepperoni with sausage(I forgot the official name), Last one was the best, the other two were just ok. To sum up, Pizza here is what you can grab to fill the belly, not the first choice for me.

May be, I had a high expectation but it turned to be just another Pizza place on earth. I liked their cheese pizza the best. The veggie pizza had no punch line at all. It was like eating a cooked salad with out lettuce. Staff were very nice hence the reason for 3 stars. Not going to try again.

WORSTFAMIGLIAINTHECITY. the pizza’s about the same — the people who work there, particularly the men who assemble the pizzas, are horrible. They are rude. I’ve seen every single worker behind the counter huddled in private conversation, pretending customers are not even there. I have a special needs child(Autism) who can’t eat cooked cheese. I ask for cheese in a cup and they ask like I’m asking for a pint of their personal blood. Today was the final straw. We ordered by phone, which is more pleasant at least than dealing with the rude workers in person. I explained my child’s situation. I asked for a full cup of cheese. I explained that the cheese(on the side) might be the only part of the pizza my child eats. so basically, $ 8.50 for less than $ 1’s worth of crust and sauce and a cup of cheese. Plus $ 5 deliver, because I like to be generous. «Don’t worry, ma’am. I’ll take care of it,» the man said. I said again, «The cheese is really important. She’s hungry. She can’t eat a lot of things.» Now he could have said I’m going to charge you extra to put cheese in a cup or for a cup’s worth of cheese. But nope, he reassured me. We waited. Delivery guy came and went. And what do you know. Less than half a little styrofoam cup of cheese — same price as a pizza with cheese baked on top. I call and he says, «Well, we can’t do that.» I say, «The time to tell me that was BEFORE you accepted my money and my order.» He clearly doesn’t give a sh*t. «Let me talk to my manager.» I hear them talking. I ask to speak to the manager. «Your guy said he’d do something he didn’t do. He had no issue with taking the order — and then he just did whatever he felt like.» The manager excuses the behavior. Mind you we are talking about the small white styrofoam size cup you’d see anywhere — this is a lot of cheese for my kid. It’s not actually a lot of cheese to Famiglia. And if they felt it was a lot, they could have added a surcharge before we waited 40 minutes for deliver with a hungry Autistic kid who can eat that and only that at the moment. Until you’ve had a chronically ill child with feeding difficulty, I don’t think you’d be able to really get how much I loathe this place. For maybe 30 cents of cheese they have lost a customer. And they have every ounce of ill will my body can muster at this point. Don’t give these jackasses money. NYC is filled with much, much better pizza places, run by people who at least care about their customers a little bit.

As I mentioned with one of the other locations of this chain — what are they«famous» for exactly? Their grease? Their sub-par pizza? I’ve been to the other location on 8th Avenue(near Times Square) and was«ok» with the excessive grease on their average slices. I’ll say it again here, it’s average — meaning not particularly bad but it doesn’t mean it’s all that great either. Just because a pizzeria is in New York or even Manhattan doesn’t mean it’s necessarily great. Not all pizza slices are created equal — and that is for the ignorants who seem to think they are. So after tasting their pretty basic average pizza on 8th, I was in the area and decided I would try«Famous» Famiglia again being that I was in the mood for a slice and it looked like their were seats inside. I expected average pizza for a high price, so my expectations were low. Well«average» is putting it nicely, as in this location the pizza was actually BELOW average quality. I had 2 pepperoni slices that honestly tasted worse than a decent frozen pizza would taste like. I get it, they’re in overpriced Manhattan and they’re a chain — but the gall to charge what they charge for this is just simply ridiculous. They had plenty of other items on the menu, but I probably won’t ever be trying them because a place with the name«famous» and«pizza» in their store front and chain can’t even manage an actual pizza slice the right way, I shutter to think what the rest of the menu will taste like. This place got lucky being a chain to which people are fooled into thinking that their pizza is good or the way it should be, because it’s the complete opposite. If you don’t care and just want to get something palatable in your stomach for the(over)price, then be my guest. This place is about a block from Madison Square Garden/Penn Station so they are in a good location as far as being in a sea of eateries. But be warned, if «good» pizza is what you’re after, you won’t find it here unless your taste buds are out of whack or unique. While not the absolute worst I’ve come across, this is certainly not the best — just sub-par barely average pizza for a high price. But it’s not all bad news. It’s very clean inside. The staff was pleasant and that absolutely counts for something in an often rude Manahttan. Unlike other locations, it’s fairly spacious in the table area and comfortable enough. There’s a lot of pictures on the wall to look at as well. The bathroom wasn’t the cleanest, but not a total mess either. So if they would just get their pizza better this place and chain as a whole would be on their way. So as far as «famous» goes — when I think of Famiglia, the only«famous» thing they are to me is barely average pizza. Sad, but it is what it is. I won’t be heading to anymore«Famous» Famiglia locations anymore unless I’m desperate and not caring what I put in my stomach or what I’m spending.

My daughter insisted that we have pizza before going to see Matilda on Broadway and we stumbled upon this place. I ordered the pepperoni Stromboli and my daughter had the garlic knots and a slice of regular. Everything looked good because we were starving but the Stromboli was very doughy and the pizza was blah. The garlic knots were very garlicy and my daughter enjoyed them. Their marinara sauce was chunky and delish but something was missing from their pizza. Honestly I think I enjoy the pizza at chuck e cheese better than here :/

If you just want pizza, go to 2 bros. You can not beat $ 1 per slice. But if you want a new flavor experience, then you come here. Thier Caprese Pizza is a delight, covered with tomatoes and basil over fresh cheese. I come annually to NY and my daughter just loves thier pizza.

Look, if you’re two blocks from a 2 Bros and you’re charging almost 3x what they are for a plain slice, you need to have a better pizza than they do. Mind, this review isn’t about a comparison, that was just a bit of advice. Ambiance-wise, this place has your usual midtown food court kinda vibe to it — unimpressive, but well-lit and open late. They keep it clean so the tourists feel ok about coming in, but anyone who is looking for a proper NYC slice will be disappointed. Now, the crust here is the high point. Folding it, it cracked just the right way, and it gave me high hopes. The crust taste is good too, but unfortunately, everything else was lackluster. The cheese was greasy, which is ok, but pretty salty as well — it tasted inauthentic, honestly. The sauce wasn’t impressive either. It had that metallic taste that makes you wonder if you’re not eating some of the can the tomatoes came in. Lastly, the service was hit-and-miss. The guy behind the counter heating the pizza seemed very nice, friendly, had that«old Italian grandpa» vibe. The girl behind the register though, she had more of a «my shift ends in ten minutes and your existence bothers me» vibe, so no bonus points there. Unless Famous Famiglia is famous for mediocrity, the name seems pretty deceiving.

I saw this pizza place featured on the Travel Channel so I wanted to stop in and try it. The owner was actually in here(recognized him from all the celebrity pics on the wall). Pizza was good. Nothing special, but not terrible either. I really like the pizza Fresca, good flavor with the basil and olive oil.

One of the first places I ate when I started my new job. It’s a nice clean environment. The staff are friendly and patient. Plenty of pizza topping to choose from. It was fairly crowded and the sitting area was packed. I had a regular slice of pizza with a soda and it cost me around $ 5 not what I usually pay in Queens but it’s Manhattan so everything cost more. The pizza was good with a crispy crust and the right amount of cheese. Not a huge fan of pizza anymore but when I get a craving for pizza. I’ll come back.

I have eaten many, many times, but to be honest, I am not so sure why. I mean the employees are very nice, they have a variety of different types of pizza, the establishment is clean and they often will deliver your order to your table if your eating there, but the food is just not that good. I have gotten pizza, beef patties, garlic knots, and pasta with marinara sauce and none of them were really up to par. The garlic knots are very small in size and the pizza is just blah. I will continue to eat here whenever I am in the Penn Station area because so refuse to eat tjose dollar slices that are on 8th Avenue, but by the same taken, I will continuously be disappointed.
