Amazing place! I only get my hair cut here and never stray. It’s hard to find a barber that you can trust with your hair, let alone with a proper shave. I have a beard and they trim and shape it perfectly every time. Steve is the man!

I’ve been going to Fifth Ave Barber Shop for over 4 years and strongly recommend them. I had gone to the same barber my entire life, but when I moved to NYC, I was apprehensive about finding someone new. I saw that Fifth Ave got great reviews and after trying them out, I saw first hand that they live up to all the hype.
The team at Fifth Ave are friendly, welcoming and give an excellent haircut at a great value. The barber shop is consistently clean, they have large flat screen TVs to watch while you’re waiting and most importantly, they take pride in providing top-​notch service. I would highly recommend checking them out if you’re looking for a new barber.

It’s very seldom that I write a review for a business, however this time I have to… I’ve lived here in NYC area for about a 2 and a half years and up until about 8 months ago I had not found anyone or anywhere in the city that would cut my hair the way I wanted it cut… I would usually have to wait until I returned back home to Boston to get it cut… Well about 8 months ago I took a chance on Fifth Ave Barber Shop… I am extremely happy I did! I found someone that actually cuts my hair how I like it and does an extremely well done job!!! If you need a place that is great, timely and does an incredible job at insanely great prices !! You must check them out!

I was on a break from work and needed a haircut. This place is located very close to work. Nice and clean location and very reasonably priced.
Michael cut my hair and he did a great job with my hair. He listened and knew what he was doing and had a great personality.
I would certainly go back to this place again and get a cut from Michael.

I only went cause i saw overwhlemjngly positive Unilocal reviews and I was in the area, but my haircut was so bad I almost feel inclined to stand outside and make sure nobody ever walks into this place. Didn’t listen to explicit instructions I gave and on top of that didn’t seem to care in the slightest. Maybe I just had a bad experience with a particular guy, but I’ve never written a Unilocal review until now and it’s only because I felt so strongly that they did a poor job. Just wasted 26 bucks plus tip.

Great barber shop near Empire State Building. The guys really know what they are doing. I’ve seen them cut all kinds of different styles all with some skill. They also offer beard trims and shaves. They’re fairly priced and you never have to wait too long before you’re in the chair.

Great experience. Right next to work so I walked over in the middle of the day. It wasn’t very busy so I was seen immediately by Arthur. Asked me what I wanted and he took good care of me. When I asked for it shorter or to alter something here and there he made the changes immediately. I found myself a new barber

This place is awesome! Obviously, I dont use barbers for myself. This review is strictly my Unilocal elite observation. I tagged along with my husband here a few times. Its a great location. Barbershop is decorated well, and kept very clean. Very reasonable price as well. Steve, the owner is a great guy. He does a good job with my husband’s hair. Even does awesome shave too. He and his staff are so friendly, and professional. Makes for a great experience.
Recommend ation: Guys treat yourself! Give this place a try. Wont be disappointed.

Great quality, old school barber shop. The prices are excellent, especially considering the location. They sanitize their clippers which always makes feel comfortable. Also, they use a STRAIGHT EDGE which should be a must for any men’s barber shop.

Both my husband and son get haircuts here and the barbers never disappoint. The barbershop has a friendly staff who always do great work without error. The wait is also not too long, but well worth it. It’s hard to find a barber who can achieve exactly what you are looking for, but these guys know their profession.
