My husband was just there to buy beverages for Father’s Day Weekend.
He was stopped by so-​called security officer for supposedly not paying for his items.
Please look at the picture for the receipt of the purchased items.
Your security staff should have their New York State Security Officer License. When mentioned, no one knew about it and the man whom stopped my husband and is employed by your business as a «security officer», did not have or know about having a license.
Know most security officers are Teamsters.
Also know, this neighborhood is one of your greatest long standing customers.
Please do NOT mistreat us.

They non jokingly have EVERY beer, from EVERY country! Their prices are either dirt cheap or comparable for the area (depending on brand). The only negative is that the female cashiers (ALL of them) are NOT friendly AT ALL! Note to cashiers: SMILE, and if you don’t like your job, find another one! :)

Great prices, good selection. They even have gluten-​removed beer that’s delicious!

So many choices, so little time! No what type of beer you like, you will find something you’ll enjoy! They also carry sodas, juices, and cocktail mixers.
If you are going for the first time, bring cash — thy don’t accept credit/​debit!

This place is amazing! Every time I have a craft beer craving, I head up there and I’m never disappointed. And obviously, I always come home with more than I had planned on. The prices are great and the selection is astounding! And you can see if from the 207^th street 1 platform, so it couldn’t be easier.
And don’t be scared away by the complaints about the «register girls» and their attitudes. You’re here for cheap beer, not a Michelin-​rated experience. Come on, now. Stop your whining and drink up!

Cheap Cheap did i say cheap beer? This place is great if you like to drink beer or have an event coming up. They have every type, every brand every flavor, even found a type I had only seen in Europe and couldn’t find here in the USA. It’s CASH ONLY. Come prepared.
The only bad thing about this place is that the guys that work there or at least load the Beverages don’t speak much English, I speak Spanish as well, but they still did not seem to know much about pricing for certain things. Nonetheless most of the beverages have prices listed. They also have soda, juices, some wines, wine coolers, hard ciders. No reason for you to pay retail prices for beer or bevarages when you can come here. I spelled beverages wrong because I’m already drunk.

This place is a great deal. Its got a lot of beverages for a lot less than you’ll find them at grocery stores. A lot of the beers they have are the same beers that you’ll find at the groceries but for much less. e.g. A six pack of Brooklyn Lager is ~$ 7.40! Six pack of Stone Pale Ale is $ 9.50! It is almost half off typical NYC prices. Domestics are *crazy* cheap; bud, coors, corona, etc… if you’re gonna throw/​attend a party get your beer here. That being said they don’t exactly have an overwhelming selection of beers and the staff isn’t there to be helpful. They’re there to move product and get you out the door – you know, they know it.

They carry absolutely everything (at the lowest cost). Can’t go wrong. They only accept cash btw.

Amazing selection and great prices. In addition to a zillion US microbrews, they’ve got beer from Peru, Honduras, El Salvador, Colombia, Argentina, Bolivia, Poland, Thailand, Czech Republic … and I’m sure I’ve left a bunch out. Just be careful not to get run over by a forklift.

One day I was reading a beer newspaper, when something caught my eye; Flair – which I previously didn’t know about – listed specials on a number of Dogfish Head beers. I was very high up on Dogfish Head at the time (and still fairly new to craft beer), and wanting to try all of the beers they make. While the prices and selection was good, I was living in Orange County at the time and this would be an hour and a half ride down to the city mostly for beer. Then I saw that they have Squall IPA. Dogfish Head had just finished making the last of Squall as they discontinued it. It was impossible to find. Given this, I called ahead to make sure they had it, and decided to make the trek down.
I get there, park in their small parking lot, and go in to find where the Dogfish Head is. Their selection wasn’t quite as impressive as I was hoping for; they’ll have what they advertise, but most of the place was just random soft drinks and BMC beers. I get to the Dogfish Head section, and there’s no Squall. One person claimed they just sold out, another said they haven’t had any for some time. I was pretty pissed off, but grabbed a few beers and made my way to the register. After a load of attitude from one of the cashiers who rang me up, I left underwhelmed and disappointed. It’s also cash only, which doesn’t make any sense but was fine.
I eventually found Squall at a place up in Yonkers, but I still came way out of my way to go here for what amounted to nothing. While the attitude of some employees is great and they’ll help you as much as they can (even if they aren’t super knowledgeable), the attitude of others can be shitty. Of course, the ones with a bad attitude also don’t a damned thing about what they’re selling. If you live near Flair, it might be worth going to. But if you’re downtown or anywhere else in the city, find somewhere else. Flair seems to be overrated here because Manhattanites don’t know the other options. Hit Super Buy-​Rite in Jersey City or Brooklyn Beverage in Brooklyn, or Half Time if you’re upstate. The prices aren’t better than other bargain beer stores, and the curation/​service is sub par.

For buying beer in Inwood there aren’t many better places to go. The selection is good and getting better all the time. I was in shortly before Thanksgiving and met the man who had taken over the beer end of things. He promised it would be improving and it certainly has.
Getting to Flair Beverage can be an epic journey. First, you have to make sure to stop at your bank to get cash, because they don’t take cards. Secondly, you may have to pass by the Bizarre Bazaar on 207^th street and resist the urge to spend your cash on a third hand blender or a pile of VCR remotes.
Then you have to brave the traffic crossing the street. This is only a half joke; there’s a lot of cars going into and out of the Bronx during the day, so you need either patience or bravery to get into Flair.
Once you’re there, just head straight back and marvel at the joyous array of beers. They’ve got everything you could want in terms of mass production domestics and imports. The guys coming by for a football game? Grab the Budweiser. People getting together to watch Dr. Who? Snag a case of Newcastle. Having a Turkish friend over to try the new beef bacon? Give them a taste of home with a six pack of Efes.
When you get to the craft section, you’ll be rewarded for your efforts. They don’t have everything under the sun, but they’ve got something for everyone and a wide range of styles and offerings. There are understandably a lot of New York/​East Coast breweries and most will be familiar labels, but you’ll see a few unknowns and have access to a wider range of stuff than most bars will have on tap. Their selection of large-​format bottles is quality too. In the last few months they’ve been stocking a selection of Italian beers that are intended to be aged.
Checking out can be a pain. Not because the lines are long; they handle the commercial buyers (you’ll see plenty of guys loading up on cases and cases of drinks) on separate lines from the private consumers. The delay comes when you actually get to your cashier. Some things they scan, some things they have to hunt down on a screen of possible options. I’m not sure why, but the workers always seem completely unable to figure out the name of the brewer. It doesn’t take forever, but it always makes me a little annoyed that they don’t either spend more time maintaining their product database or training their workers.
Last but not least, bring bags. They don’t have any, plus you’ll generally get more than you originally intended.
Best value at the moment there is Narragansett, it comes in a lager, a cream ale and a bock, all fantastically drinkable and only $ 1 per can. It’s like PBR but with flavor.

Dirt cheap if they have your beer. Sierra nevada, buy a case or two, or Heffenweissen. cash only and traffic is a draw back. Some Cali. beer is cheaper than Pa. I
dont think they know pricing but I found that in several urban areas. I’ll be back for some Ommegang.

This really is the spot to buy beer. I’d always known that to be the case around Memorial Day or the Fourth of July when I needed to get a case or two for the barbecue in the park or the house party, but it wasn’t until my most recent visit that I realized that beyond the great selection of beers from around the world and the super cheap prices, Flair HAS A GREAT SELECTION OF CRAFT BEER. That’s right. Deep in the back, in a couple of unassuming rows flanked by the cases of beer from such rarely-​found-​in-​the-​US-​beers as Tyskie and Cuzqueña, there are beers from The Bruery, Hitachino, Dogfish Head, Founder’s and the likes.
And I’m not just talking six packs, there were single bombers abound. How long these have been available here I’ll never know, since I was sort of late to the American craft beer game and usually came here for European and other international beers that you’d never find in any bodega uptown. But they’re there now and at the great prices you expect from Flair, which speaking of which, I just learned was the name when I looked the place up on Unilocal,because for all my years in the city it was just ‘THE beer spot.‘
Be warned that the place gets crazy around the big holiday celebrations and the line winds through the store with people pushing carts loaded with 10 – 15 cases of beer, cases of juices and sodas, and a generally chaotic atmosphere. If you’re wise, you’ll just cut all the cart-​pushers and find your way to a cashier at the front who could care less where you came from as long as you’re ready to pay. But be warned, THIS PLACE IS CASH ONLY! I’d forgotten this and had to leave behind a number of good beers I was eager to buy because I didn’t have enough cash and wasn’t about to pay the nearby ATM $ 3 – 5 to get more.
Also, be aware that the cashiers are very ruff around the edges and really lack in décor and politeness, don’t take it personal. Just realize that a lot of uptown girls long ago eschewed personality thinking their looks will carry them. Take pleasure in knowing the day will come when they realize that they’ll come crashing down to earth like many a gal before them.

This place is incredible. There are mountains of beer everywhere and little hills of almost every other kind of beverage imaginable (except wine and hard liquor). They even have baby kegs, baby sparkling apple cider (which I had never seen before in my entire life), and baby coronas (coronitas). HOW ADORABLE! If you’re throwing a party, come here to get your beer shopping done. Prices are unbelievably cheap and the selection is pretty decent.
The staff ranges from knowledgable to confused, but in general, all them were nice enough and willing to help.
If you have no way to get here by car, it’s easily accessible by the 1 train. You should bring a rolling suitcase or backpack. We definitely looked shady, I’m pretty sure people were judging us, and it was freaking heavy, but hey, whatever it takes to throw a party on budget!

SO awesome. The Unilocaler in me wants to ding a star because they don’t have the _​BEST_​beer selection, but this place is just so amazing that I can let it pass. it’s just like the Costco drinks aisle in California, but it’s a whole store. And of course the variety is much larger. They have a focus on Latino specialty sodas and beers, which is to be expected due to its Bronx/​Inwood straddling location. (They have Jarritos in all the flavors!)
Some people say they sell wine here, but that’s wrong; they only sell ‘wine product’, the disgusting, low-​ABV bastard child of marketing and NY state liquor laws. Basically, they sell beer, malt drinks (Mike’s, Smirnoff Ice), and nonalcoholic drinks, period.
tl;dr I got a 12-​pack of Harp for $ 12 after CRV. I could’ve also gotten a 6-​pack of Lone Star for $ 5. That’s really all that needs to be said. And then I took it on the conveniently located subway. Bam.

This is a great place to make bulk purchases for parties. It’s too far from my house to frequent on a regular basis, but whenever I’m planning a major event for a lot of guests, I always go to Flair. They have such a great selection from mainstream popular beers to a variety of craft beers. They also have soda, juices, iced tea, water. Flair services many Manhattan restaurants, so they have all you need.
Well worth the trip to Inwood!

This is THE place to be to get your beer shopping done.
They got everything AND it’s affordable but… cash only, so make sure you hit the ATM before you get there.
The ladies at checkout can be a little bitchy, but I usually don’t care about that when i got delicious beer around me.

If you like beer, soda, or any other drinkable liquid that comes in a container (save liquor, they don’t sell it), is this the place for you! Upon entering Flair you’ll believe that you’ve found the Ali Baba’s Cave of light potables. This is that giant wholesale distributorship (open to the general public) located way up on 207^th & 9^th in Inwood.
It’s about as big as a football field in there and stacked practically to the ceiling with all manners of beers, sodas, juices, bottled waters (yecch!) and a small variety of wines. Their selection is fantastic! Everything from Miller Lite to Sam Smith’s in the beer department and from «Good-​O» brand to the delectable Mexican «Jarritos» for sodas.
Not only do they feature my favorite brand of cheap stuff (Ballantine Ale) which is a bit difficult to find in my ‘hood, but they had it in 12 oz cans, 16 oz cans and even 12 oz bottles (!) which I don’t think I’ve EVER seen in Manhattan. Another stunner was cases and cases of the Brazilian black beer, Xingu, which I’ve only seen once, long ago in an Indian spice shop. Was drinking one as I wrote this review and man, was it good! They also have other Brazilian brews and a lot of Guatemalans that I’ve never even heard of along with the top shelf Europeans, Asians and the USA micro-​brews.
Prices are unbelievable too. A case of Ballantine pints/13.79. Sixer of Xingu/5.79. They now sell kegs too. It’s cash only so bring money. Fortunately, there’s an ATM next door in case you forget.
Since I first discovered this place I’ve been back MANY times. Oh joy, just what I needed — a newer, funner place to spend my money on beer. Thanks a lot, Flair.

Been coming here for years. In fact, I just returned home from a Flair run no less than 30 minutes ago, with a case of Guinness pub draught cans in tow.
I really, really like beer, and this is literally what I imagine my heaven to look like.
I thank the lord Jeebus that he saw fit to put me into a lovely apartment just four subway stops south of the Temple of Flair.
Like it’s already been said, this place is CASH ONLY, so be forewarned. But there is an ATM right next door at the cigarette place. But to save the ATM fee (so as you can buy more BEER!) come with cash already in hand.
You must be vigilant at the checkout. Amazingly enough, nothing here is scanned. The cashier enters prices basically from her memory (or yours), so know your prices. A small notepad would be helpful if you’re buying many different items.
The prices here are VERY CHEAP (basically wholesale to the public), and if of some incomprehensible reason you don’t like or drink beer, they have 150 foot aisle after 150 foot isle stocked with every beverage type imaginable.
