WORST customer service I have ever experienced. 8 months pregnant, apparently had an appointment that I didnt know about. Never received a confirmation call until I was supposed to be there. Was told they sent an email that must have gone to spam since that happens to them often. Considering I didnt know I had the appt and I even offered to pay half considering the stylist time. Had to call three times before finally being told they wouldnt refund the full charge. Will NEVER go back and have never had any high end salon act so rudely.

I have become a regular here and love going back each time. Have had the best haircut with Jordi and the most amazing colour with Jerome. Jerome was even kind enough to correct someone else’s mistake on my hair– came in for a gloss and he noticed that one small but noticeable section of my hair was completely missing colour so he fixed it without any extra cost. Am a happy happy customer and will never go to anyone else after this.

Fabrice is a genius who saved me from the worst haircut of my life (google Louis XVI). I always had big 70’s curls until my terrible haircut but Fabrice took my style to the next level by introducing me to short hair and bangs. Everyone says I look like a French movie star! Now I won’t let anyone else touch my hair — thanks Fabrice for doing such an amazing job! David is also an fantastic colorist for brunettes!

I normally don’t write reviews but I was so impressed by the service and quality of this salon that I just had to give some kudos.
It was 4 star treatment from the moment I booked my appt with the lovely receptionist after purchasing a hair brush, to the person who took my jacket, the manager who introduced herself when I checked in and last but certainly not least, to Jerome– a fantastic colorist.
Jerome took my funky yellow blonde to Marilyn platinum like a pro– with style and grace. He’s my new guy:-)

I was in last week for my first time at the Fekkai Soho location. I had purchased «full head highlights» on Gilt City and was booked with Jax. The salon is in a great location on West Broadway in Soho and offers all types of services (Spa, color, cuts, make-​up). Great experience front to back. Honestly I just wanted my hair «brighter» as it was looking dull and lackluster lately. Jax just ran with the ball and gave me the look I didn’t even know i wanted. They specifically offer Balayage highlights which i had never heard of but looks way more natural than traditional highlights. The voucher didn’t include blowdry and so I asked her if I could blow it out myself but she insisted on finishing it off for me. Thrilled with the outcome, couldn’t look better!

This review is in regards to the Fekkai Modeling Program which is a total scam. Please see my email to them below:
Dear Emily & The Fekkai Modeling Program,
I’m emailing in regards to tonight’s highlighting «appointment.»
I was unable to attend the appointment and instead made arrangements for my sister to attend in my place. My sister lives in New Jersey and is new to the city. When she arrived at 5:40, she was informed by two members of the Fekkai staff that there was only «1 Highlighting Appointment available tonight» and that she would not be seen. The staff told her «better luck next time.»
I have to tell you I am beyond outraged and appalled. This is not only bad business but also completely abhorrent behavior on behalf of the FekkaiModels Program and staff.
In your confirmation email above, you specify to arrive 15 minutes early (which she did) as well as this in BOLD: «Please be aware that we require a 24 hour cancellation for this appointment. If you are a no show or cancel your appointment without a 24 hour notice, you will not be eligible for future bookings.»

​I upheld my end of the bargain by arranging to have my sister go in my place. Nowhere does the email say that there is only ONE spot available after booking an «appointment» which is what my sister was told when she arrived. This process is not only misleading but completely deceptive. It puts the «client» in a vulnerable no-​win situation, and its simply not right.
There are many reasons why people sign up for the model program; lack of financing and/​or resources being chief among them. By conducting business in this manner, you are taking blatant advantage of someone who could benefit from these services. Someone who maybe wouldn’t have access to them otherwise. It’s a shameful practice to turn someone away without warning, an email in the least, and even worse to exploit a person’s time and effort knowingly (as was the case tonight).
At this point I don’t know how this situation can be rectified. In future, in the very least, you should be upfront with clients who book «appointments» by stating there is only ONE spot available and the likelihood of them being seen is unlikely.
Additionally, in the very least, my sister should be reimbursed for her fare to and from the salon. This is not only fair, but frankly, its just the decent and right thing to do.

Wow what an amazing experience. I had an appointment with Krystel for color correction, I came in with 2 colors on my head from previous experiments by other «colorists», long story short she made my hair a beautiful warm color with subtle high lights that enhanced the haircut, and used some gloss that made my hair super shiny. Everyone was very professional and friendly. I left very happy! Will be coming back again for touch ups in the near future

I came with a Gilt City voucher for a single process color. I had no trouble making the appointment. The person who answered the phone, Leanne, was really helpful, asking me questions about what I was looking for in terms of color, whether there was someone in particular I was looking to see, and patiently answering all my questions. She suggested Jax, and I went with her recommendation.
When I arrived, I was welcomed, offered a beverage, and talked to Jax about what I was looking for. She was very patient with me – and it was my first time getting color, so I had a number of questions — and did a very thorough job. The result wasn’t exactly what I had envisioned when I planned the appointment, but it was exactly what Jax told me it would be during the consultation. Actually, it came out better than I expected at that point. The ammonia smell during the coloring process was really strong, so that wasn’t great, but I assume that’s virtually unavoidable. Jax was really thoughtful and took extra time with me even after the color process was finished.
The result is that my hair is a lovely auburn color (probably the color I wish I’d been born with) and seems to be less frizzy than it was before, even though I didn’t get any kind of straightening treatment. It’s only been a few days since I was there, so I’m still getting used to the new look. Will update this review if anything changes.
I should also note that I’ve seen in many Unilocal reviews of various salons that people sometimes complain of being treated as second-​class citizens when they come in with discount vouchers. I never felt that here for a moment.
Having been really nervous about going in the first place, I’m happy about my experience here.

I’ve been to many luxury New York salons and today’s experience at FF was the best! Jordi gave me an amazing cut and was able to fix the damage done by a previous stylist. I love my new highlights, they look sun-​kissed. Thanks Kimberly! A great all around experience.

The salon is really beautiful, everyone was so helpful and very friendly – and super clean which is important to me. I was able to make an appointment for a haircut the next day when I called – which was great.
BUT the haircut I received was horrible! I went in with waist length hair wanting to keep it long but not SO long. She basically cut it in a circle around my head, just below my shoulders, and left it! There are no layers, no movement. It looks like someone put a bucket on my head and cut in a circle. That fact that it took her no time should’ve been a sign. I consider myself pretty savvy at styling my hair and I don’t even know what to do with it! Nothing works.
To be fair, I haven’t given her/​the salon the opportunity to fix it b/​c it’s already too short and I don’t want anymore cut off.
A complete waste of $ 140+tip
Unless you know the stylist you’re seeing, I’d try elsewhere and save your money.

I had been searching high and low for someone to go to for a great haircut. I have been to many salons and I usually leave disappointed especially when I explain exactly what I am looking for. I received a birthday gift certificate to the FF salon in soho so I tried their haircut. I saw Jordi and I am so glad I found him. He is extremely professional and friendly and I now see him regularly. I could talk to him for hours! The atmosphere in the salon is warm, upbeat and inviting. The staff is great. I absolutely love coming here.

I never ever write reviews on Unilocal but I absolutely had to for this! Since childhood I have been to probably every luxury hair salon in New York City and am very passionate about my hair; Fekkai was by far my favorite salon experience so when I had to choose my own salon I chose them.
I firmly believe that Italian (and French) hairstylists are the best in the world, so I did some research to see if any worked at Fekkai. I soon found Cosma and booked my appointment.
I arrived for my appointment and was treated amazingly well by the reception and staff, they even scheduled a free make up consolation because it was my first time at this location! If you are wondering about the style of this location it is young and chic but still elegant.
I was seated at Cosma’s station and she came out to greet me. She was incredibly sweet, professional and very passionate about hair. I told her what I wanted and she told me what I needed. She took me to the sink, washed my hair and gave me the best hair cut I have ever received in my life. My hair has never looked so healthy and beautiful. She also gave me great advice about caring for my hair. I have been to every luxury salon in NYC and have never been so well attended to! $ 135 dollars for a luxury salon is not bad. The following week I saw her for a blow dry and it was equally amazing. It lasted the entire week! Cosma is an absolute star and is sure to take the hair-​care world by storm someday soon!
For the blow dry, Lucy washed my hair and was lovely. Edvelina did my make up application and was excellent. The entire staff is very sweet and adorable. I am so happy here!

I saw Smith here last summer for highlights. I’ve gotten highlights for years and he blew everyone else away. He left Fekkai recently though and now I’m trying to track him down. I’m not sure what salon he went to. Service was A+ at Fekkai though

The Arctic is warmer than this place.
The staff is very cold and offer the worst customer service experience in New York City.
After ten years of loyal patronage, my relationship ended on a sour note due to a mis– communication. They made no effort to apologize to me for their lack of attention and communication. Instead, they insulted my integrity in the worst manner possible and took zero responsibility for their actions.
If I could give zero stars I would.
There are plenty of talented stylists in NYC and «Friendly» upscale salons. Save yourself from experiencing the coldness of this establishment and make your appointment elsewhere.

More of a tip than a review. Just purchased Gilt City voucher for highlights. Was able to book the appointment for two days later and receptionist was courteous but… She informed me that highlights service does not include a blow out so I had to book that as a separate service at $ 60 to $ 85. Between the cost of the voucher and additional cost for blow out and second tip, it will be about the same cost as where I normally get my hair done, so not too, too miffed but definitely no bargain either. Also not sure whether this is specific to Gilt City vouchers, but — if cost is an issue — something you may want to consider before booking.

I recently bought a deal on Gilt City for a single-​process color treatment. This salon exceeded my already high expectations. I knew that the colorists would be amazing but I didn’t expect the staff to be as friendly and accommodating as they were considering it is a posh salon in Soho. I’m delighted to say that I was very wrong. Kim was an awesome colorist, I loved the ambience of the place not to mention I was brought a delish cappuccino and lemon water while I waited for my color to be done. It as such a relaxing experience I almost felt like I was getting the spa treatment especially with the reclining massage chair I laid in while my hair was rinsed at the end. With or without a deal I will definitely be coming back!

I’ve been getting my hair done ever since I started working in Soho a little over 1yr ago and will continue whether I work downtown or not. Stylists like Lindsey and Jordie (spelling?) and colorists like Kim and David have taken good hair and made it look great! My hair has never been so healthy or looked so good! On top of that everyone is super friendly and accommodating. You really feel so welcome when you walk through the door making it such a great experience from start to finish.

I am not sure where to begin! There are so many wonderful experiences you encounter from the moment you step inside the door!
The staff is very friendly and accomodating. Every experience from your haircut to the shampoo to your coloring and your blow dry is simply amazing! You are ALWAYS comfortable and fulfilled in EVERYWAY at Frederic Fekai Soho!
I was in New York on vacation and went to the salon for a haircut and color… they made my time there really enjoyable!

Love it here. Marshall was able to give me the haircut I had been explaining to my previous stylist for years and had been beginning to think was impossible. Renewed my faith in my hair, and I get so many compliments on it. Mashall really listened to what my concerns about my hair were and then was able to explain to me in hair-​stylist terms what it was about my hair that was really bothering me and why it was not falling the way I want. The customer service here is amazing I always feel like a very valued customer to them whenever I come in. Mashall’s assistant Chy is also a gem he gives an amazing head massage and blow-​out, also great conversation from the two of them the whole time. I’m also a big fan of their products.
FYI: I have chest-​length natural coloured brown hair, not thick but a lot of it. (Pic is pre-​Fekkai). The change was very subtle but the layers are now a lot more natural (my hair almost looked before like I had extensions because the layers were so far apart and chunky), my hair has a lot of natural movement now and it even dries naturally in a decent way (never could have left the house without blowdrying before, now it’s not too bad!). I’ve been twice and will be going again in a few months.
Tip: Only cash for gratuities, so remember to bring some!

The best hair experience of my… um…life. Now I am a bit of a whore when it comes to «designer salons with free haircuts because I am a cheap ass». I have been to Cutler, and Bumble and Bumble but Frederic Fekkai is by far the best experience.
Neil did a fabulous job with my big time damaged hair from a random Asian salon in Brooklyn (told you I am cheap). My hair went from looking thin to very thick and my color was instantly balanced out without even coloring it! My hair was constantly being double checked by the master stylist to make sure everything was even and on point. My hair looks so healthy and is now super smooth and shinny.
Frederic Fekkai has a wonderful line of products. I did not feel pressured to buy anything but I was recommended several different products, which I do plan to purchase.
FYI: According to the website you can only receive their free services every three months… I am not sure if that means color too. I am hoping to come back for color. Register online, you won’t be disappointed!
