Because I am a little bit overweight and have an accent, I WAS NOT HIRED.
I contacted them and upload my resume, got an email from them WE LOVE YOUR RESUME WE WILL LIKE TO HAVE YOU IN OUR TEAM, once I went to the office all of a sudden and after they saw me, the position was taken.
I have great references from past jobs, that were never contacted.
On top of that a lady by the name of Kate Post stated she was the owner and she lied.
Also this company has been opening and closing with different names, before is was just FORREST SOLUTIONS and were located at 10 East 40^th Street, NY NY 10 016, same phone number.
Lastly do not trust Joe Harding, if he still works there, another crook, lie about everything, and later on stop contacting me.
Funny enough this people once they have your Social Security and your personal info, they never called you at all, I wonder why?

This is for anyone thinking of working AT Forrest Solutions Staffing — BE CAREFUL!
The owner of this company, Steve Forrest, is a manipulator, a liar, and emotionally imbalanced. He micro-​manages his company without the knowledge or professional acumen to do so. I worked there for 1.5 years, reported directly to him and it was the most toxic place I have ever worked.
The place is gorgeous, it looks like a well-​oiled machine and they will make you a more than generous offer. Your trade-​off will be that you will be beaten down, mis-​treated, and when the business doesn’t do well, the owner will actually pull money back from you because he’s not making as much as he wanted from your work.
You’d be better off in an environment that supported you and built you up, not that second-​guesses you and beats you down.
Steve will sell you on the company — be advised — he is manipulative, conniving, and an all around really bad person.

I’ll skip the sad tragic exposition — how the recruiter lied, lied, and lied some more, told me she totally had tons of jobs! jobs! well-​paying jobs! exactly suited to my qualifications and desires, and then turned out to be a stone cold snake who never delivered and still thought you should be thankful she deigned to place your sorry butt anywhere at all. Unfortunately, that’s par for the course at most temp agencies, even some of the better ones.
However, at no other agency have I encountered such a huge disparity between the quality of the assignments they say they have versus those they give. I’m a very qualified executive assistant with strong legal experience. My resume clearly reflects this, and my bona fides check out. Nothing more, nothing less.
Why, then, did I spend weeks in the shipping department of a jewelry company picking and packing for supervisors who treat you like you just got out of prison but should never have been freed? Why was I offered convention jobs that an out-​of-​work actor would refuse? And why, when I finally did get sent out on some vaguely administrative-​assistant-​y jobs, was I paid the same rate as for mindless manual labor?
Because I, and you, and everyone we know are walking commissions to the average Forrest agent who, if not already a sociopath, must divest him/​herself of the last vestiges of human empathy in order to survive in a massive, noisy bullpen full of hypercompetitive agents. They charge bargain basement prices and work only with the the kinds of companies who are short-​sighted and greedy enough to hire bargain basement help.
Avoid.

Cannot agree more with the other reviewers as the only thing FSS Staffing has going for them is their office. I received a call from a recruiter once and was invited to the office for an interview about a temp role. The initialization process was rather straight forward, filling out the usual paperwork, introducing yourself, etc. The recruiter seemed really enthusiastic about the role she had me paired up with and claimed that she’ll get back to me once the hiring manager makes a decision. I waited for a week and asked the recruiter about the status of my application and she said the manager is busy. The next week, I emailed her again, and she said that she’ll follow up with the manager. Another week later, the trail went cold. My recruiter never followed up with me, so I never knew about the status of the application or whether or not the role she talked about actually exists. Highly unprofessional, and I really suspect that these recruiters just rake in job seekers to fill their quota or just add resumes onto their talent pool. Overall, just ignore these guys. Go with Michael Page.

Sleazy company. They have a very nice modern office and comfortable atmosphere, but don’t let that fool you.
I would look at Core, Robert Half, and Adecco.
BOTTOM LINE: STAY AWAY, DON’T WAST YOUR TIME.

They have a very nice modern office, but their office is the only good thing about FSS. They are highly un professional. I did work with a, decent recruiter, but she left FSS. They have shitty corporate accounts and clients. I’ve also had several issues regarding payroll, which was very frustrating to deal with.

Came here about a month ago and met with Veronica Morgan. She made me come in bright and early and she was late to our meeting. Okay, I let it slide. She told me she had the perfect position for me and even another one too. I met with her supervisor Olga, she said the same thing. Why haven’t I heard back from them yet? I called over 5 times, emailed several times too. Nothing. This place is filled with incompetent idiots. Seriously, if you recruiters can’t do your jobs, give them to the people who are actually looking for jobs.
To anyone who’s looking for employment, don’t look here. Save your time, effort, energy and resume on something worth while.

I would give FSS Staffing a ZERO if I could!!! They are liars. They post positions that aren’t really vacant and call you in and waste your time for interviews for job postings that are fake!
If you are looking for work. I recommend Access Staffing or Core Staffing. I’ve worked with both for several years and have had much success.
I wish I would have checked the reviews first before I wasted my time, energy and effort with FSS!!!

Complete incompetence. Nothing more basic than paying people on time, at the agreed upon rate. I worked on a project for over a month and FSS failed to pay people at all some weeks, paid the incorrect rate others and put the onus on you to correct the mistakes. You literally had to CHASE these people down to get paid!!! If they spent half as much time administering their business as they did designing their office interior maybe they would be worth a damn.

Two words: Don’t. Bother.
After meeting with an agent for an hour and taking all these aptitude tests, I got … nothing. While I understand that sometimes there just aren’t positions available, the whole point of going to a recruiter is to get help, feedback, ANYTHING. My agent pretended to be incredibly interested in helping me with my job search. Then, she never responded to any of my emails or phone calls. Thanks for wasting the time I could’ve used sending out resumes on my own.

DO NOT USE THIS AGENCY!!! This was the absolute WORST experience of my professional life. I trusted these people to be honest and have my best interest in mind but all they did was lie and promote a position which was a revolving door of assistants. Liz Govern and her team supported and encouraged me through a career change into a position that they WILLING KNEW was a nightmare. Once I began this abusive and demeaning position, I found out that the person I was working for had 8 temporary assistants within a 7 month period, all placed there by FSS Staffing and ALL left, some just after 2 weeks and left crying. This company and the culture they support is all about the bottom line. They will manipulate and use you so they can make a dollar. Working with FSS has greatly changed the course of my life. These horrid people do not understand that there are consequences to their actions. Once again, DO NOT USE THIS AGENCY!!!

Where do I begin?! I met with one of the recruiters there, her name was Meliz, she made me me meet with her manager and in the end tells me that she will keep in touch. She never got me any position or interviews just a email saying we don’t have anything available. I think this is their way of backing people off.
Well second time around Kathryn calls and said meliz had left, I’m like what the heck why not give it a try again… F* No! I wish I would’ve read the reviews before meeting up with Kathryn. What a complete waste of my time. So bullshit. She haven’t called me for any roles like she promised she will. It is sad that these recruiters call job seekers who is struggling to find a job to go into their office to listen to them talk about nonsense.
Please think of people out of work time, money and stress! Stop bringing people in if you don’t have roles that match them!

I hate to judge off of only one recruiter, when there are plenty of them (but judging by the other reviews, they are not great either). But I did not have a good experience with Forrest. I was contacted via phone by Kathryn. Came in for the usual interview to make sure I was competent, took the online testing, and was e-​mailed about a possible position. I responded and didn’t hear back. I sent another e-​mail a few days later to see if she had any updates, she simply said she had not heard anything.
I honestly think they take in so many candidates to present to their «clients», so they have a greater chance at making that commission they work for. Understandable, but it is definitely a client’s market, and not a candidates.
I wish she would have been more upfront about the number of positions she actually has open. But as is the theme with staffing agencies, they need a surplus of candidates to present. In addition to this, Kathryn suggested following her on social media, which I did. The amount of jobs she advertises for to upcoming graduates is misleading, she makes it seem she has MANY «roles», when in actuality they do not exist. Leaves a bad taste in my mouth about her.

One of the worst staffing agencies out there. A total waste of time. When I first went in, I had to wait over 45 minutes even after telling them I had to be at work soon. Larry was no help at all. Months later I was asked to come in by Donna Saunders I explained to her that I have already met with Larry. She still wanted me to come in. I had to fill out the paperwork again even though I was there less then 6 months ago. When I asked Donna about the position I saw on Craig’s List she said that was already filled. This didn’t seem right since I just saw the ad the day before. She said she wanted to meet with me if something else came up. A total waste of time.
Months later I replied a ad and Donna emailed me asking me to come in to their office. I explained to her that I had already met with her. She said that she still needed me to come into the office. I asked why and she said it was company policy. I asked her if the position was sill open and she said yes. I then asked her to give me more info on the position. She said that she couldn’t unless I when into the office. I passed.
I worked with other agencies and as long as you met with anyone in the office, you didn’t need to keep going back. I think FSS just wants to make themselves look busy. They waste people’s time.
WARRING: they put the same ads in Craig’s List every couple of weeks.

Where do I start? I was contacted by FSG because they had a position open and said to me it could lead to a manager position, are you interested? I said of course so I went and interviewed with them and their client (in total 3 times). I get the job and the first day my boss at the site takes me into a conference room to give me a backstabbing session on his employees and says he doesn’t know why I am here because there is more than enough people in the office. I am polite and just ignore this. So for the next 4 months I am doing my job but notice there is no sign of obtaining a manager position because the hierarchy is locked down. I say nothing and just go with the flow.
Now this is where trouble starts and FSG does nothing. I had a scheduled day off at the end of August my boss ok’d it. then 2 weeks later my wife comes down with pneumonia. We have no insurance so I take her to the Urgent Care center in our area. I called FSG to tell them to let my boss know I am coming in but running late (calling FSG not the job site is procedure) due to my wife’s situation.
I arrive at the job site and my boss seems fine and then goes «I need to speak to you.» ok I said. Back to the conference room we go and he goes on and on about how I am taking too many days off. I kindly remind him one day was approved by him and I am here today. He goes on about yea well I just need someone here. I am thinking to myself well didnt you say 4 months ago you didnt know why I was here!!! So at the end of the «meeting» he asks if my wife is ok. I said NO! she has pneumonia.
A few days later I go to work but I feel awful. I get home and have a 103 temperature I tell them at FSG I cannot make it in. They said ok, no problem it turns out I end up having pneumonia as well and the person I spoke to every morning to give my status goes «wow you have been out for a long time (3 days) is everything ok at the job site?» yes it is fine I say. I am just really ill. She says something to the effect of I shouldn’t be sick this long. I kindly reply «I have no insurance.» On the 4^th day I get an e-​mail from my recruiter saying I have been released from my job site.
I told her I had been ill and she asked me for a doctors note. Now in urgent care there is a sign right behind the nurses that says «We do not write out of work slips» I explain this to them at FSG and they do not want to believe me. To sum it up steer clear of this place they only care about their client not the people they are sending to these sites.

After getting laid off during the recession fallout of 2008/​2009, I was referred to Forrest by a friend of my mom’s. At the time I was in grad school with bills to pay and little pride concerning work type. Within a day of using my contact’s name on my phone call, I was asked to forward my resume to Gail. Gail called and set up an appointment with me a few days later Gail had me working at Jacob Javitz convention shows and fairly steady temp assignments after that working for Fortune 1000 and smaller companies. My work ranged from information management (helping a well known publisher organize their archive) to paralegal duties.
It wasn’t all sunshine and roses, though. There were times when I’d have to call other temp agencies because Forrest had no jobs for me and months would go by when I’d have to string together odd jobs elsewhere or call other temp agency contacts. I didn’t make a ton of money and had to push back a few times to get an liveable salary. I also referred countless friends and family members to Gail/​Forrest, and not one of them were ever called in to discuss opportunities.
I ended up working with Forrest for 2+ years while I finished school and searched for permanent employment. Gratefully, the last temp assignment I worked on for Forrest got my foot in the door of the company that I am working for – as a permanent employee– to this day.

UPDATE: My last review was deleted because I named the VP of Marketing. I was contacted by the VP to give the agency a second chance and possibly change my review. Given the fact that the agency reps STILL post fake ads on review sites and continue to urge applicants to post positive reviews, I declined. Below is the full review as originally posted:
AVOID THIS AGENCY. The positive reviews are fakes written by the recruiters. They are driven to meet quotas and will do anything to win most successful department of the month awards and other company accolades. None of them have a background in human resources, almost all have worked in sales.
I was referred by two friends who recently signed with Forrest and all three of us have had awful experiences. They’ll say your hair, makeup, clothing is not corporate-​enough. They’ll ask you to lie about you work or college experience. One rep, Theresa Kon, asked to «prep» me for an interview at 9 night by repeating how I should dress, lie about my experience and rereading the job description. She had little to say on specific interviewing skills questions or how to impress the job interviewer.
They will not follow up on any of their promised leads unless you are over-​qualified. There is one particularly sassy rep with an attitude, Stacey Garacia, who chewed my friend out on her third attempt to get a follow-​up post-​interview. Ms. Garacia lied about sending follow-​up emails and coldly stated «you did NOT get the job. You did NOT have the right skillset for the position. That is all I will say.» Another friend signed with the Finance department and the rep doesn’t even remember their name even after two meetings and calls.
The economy is bad enough as it is to have an employment agency treat their workers like cheap cattle. Save yourself the denigration and avoid this place.

Do NOT visit this place if you are not from New York. They refused to take my salary requirements seriously due to my «lack of New York experience» — even though they liked me enough to invite me for several interviews regarding an in-​house position, reporting directly to the owner.
Apparently my San Francisco and DC resume read «qualified yet cheap employee» through their green-​tainted lenses. I have worked in startup and government contracting environments: I have excelled despite manic management, I have arranged program management components for DoD contracts, and I have managed a private office and traveled extensively while juggling several different deadlines. I am more than ready to handle the corporate world of New York. In addition to being insulted for having my hard work belittled, I am in awe of this agency’s stupidity. Did they really think that a seasoned professional would fall for their lines about helping me get established in the city, to the tune of ten grand less than I made at my last office?
Since my encounter with this ruthless conglomerate of greed, I have visited several other agencies. All of them have understood how my variety of high-​pressure experiences will translate to flexible, reliable, innovative, and efficient performance at a New York office. I lined up several fantastic interviews in no time — no thanks to Larry Stevens or any of his colleagues clad in fake smiles.

A one week wait, a two hour and fifteen minute journey there and back only to result in a measly five minute confrontation where this can conveniently be performed on the phone… not worth the try! The recruiter who I saw repeated the same standard questions on the initial phone screening for many were in black and white form direct from my candidate application and resume. The commission base, money grubbing recruiter also physically shown the lack thereof enthusiasm for hope and prospective outlook for me where he boorishly boast the negative with a high vile unfathomably nasty index. Focus on the good man! The impossible is the possible as… «and I want to show you great and marvelous things.» (Jeremiah 33:3)
With the power of Unilocal I received a private message addressed to another Unilocaler, which these incompetent staff are unable to affix candidates’ names correctly yet alone unable to affix messages to the correct individual! A measly simple task as to affix candidates’ name correctly which Forrest Solutions Group simply CANNOT handle!!! This forest jungle cannot hold water as it is full of bombastic hot air.
This mass staffing agency is blind by the ignorance of the eye with money grubbers as the shiny white tile floors and reception area is made from blind money. Forrest Solutions filters to screen candidates like a mass production factory as there is no personalization for recruiters to take at least half hour of interviewing time for me. Apparently as a job candidate, I am too insignificant for FSS.
