History

Established in 1982.

Originally an interpreting service, founded in 1982 by Steven Berkowitz, Globe Language Services Inc. later merged with CompuLingua Corp to provide written translation, particularly for the City of New York and other city and federal agencies. When the Berlin wall came down and Soviet citizens, among others, began to come to the U.S. in large numbers, George Fletcher, President of CompuLingua and a Doctor of Education, who had studied in the Soviet Union on an international exchange program during college, saw that universities, government agencies and employers did not understand Soviet education. Globe published «The Compleat Handbook and Glossary of Soviet Education» in 1992 and began providing educational evaluations (equivalency recommendations) of international credentials. «CHILE. A Comparative Education Study» was published in 2002. Both publications were written by Dr. Fletcher.
