Gotham Pizza

Stopped in before our show on Broadway was to start. We needed something quick and tasty. Didn’t want our tummies growling while the show was in progress!
Happened upon Gotham Pizza. Not a ton of variety and certainly no frills. It was a place to sit with fairly clean bathrooms.
Ordered a slice for everyone along with drinks. The drinks were tiny. But the pizza — yes, worth it. Thin, crispy… delicious. I ordered another slice of the white pizza. Loved that crust. Crunchy and light — possibly one of the best crusts I’ve ever had.
The guy behind the counter wasn’t super nice or friendly. But I’d definitely go back for that white pizza!!!

Lol wow. Such a joke!!! I called and was quoted $ 28.00 then called back for delivery and they quoted me and additional $ 12! OKG… Really bro?! I ordered your pizza because it’s later night, not because it’s good. You want to upcharge me?

Incredibly rude service, never order from them. They took about two hours for ONE CHEESE PIZZA & when I called to check about it… multiple times, he was rude and hung up on me… MULTIPLE TIMES. Being busy is NOT an excuse to be an asshole to paying customers.

Meh, I have mix-​feelings with Gotham Pizza. I love Batman and all, but the Garlic Knots was a deal-​breaker for me. I’m giving this place 3 stars because I was sooooo disappointed with the garlic knots. My sister and I ordered the $ 1 garlic knots and 2 slices of pizza (Gotham pizza + Marinara) to share — the pizza was just a-​OK, but the garlic knots was sooo cold and hard. Maybe I came on a bad day or maybe that’s what $ 1 garlic knots taste like, but quality of food was not there for me. I shouldn’t expect much from cheap pizza, but C’MON … cold/​stale garlic knots is NOT OK.
SO MY ADVICE to any foodies traveling in NY on a hunt for really bomb pizza, I do not recommend this place! BUT — if you are in NY and just want some average pizza for cheap, or something quick, come here. Sorry, batman.

2 slices and a soda $ 5.
You cant beat a deal like this and the pizza shops around here should take note of this. I come here when I need a filling bite on the cheap. Almost 95% of places in this area only have $ 10 and up lunches, not easy for people who dont pack lunch or dont have a lot of «dough». This spot attracts tourists and average NY’ers alike. I will continue coming here as long as they keep their special.

Great, crunchy crispy pizza, their pretty slim on variety if you like unique /​customized toppings, but what’s there is good.
Always ready is your grandma or margherita slice, white slice, pepperoni and regular cheese slices. Their specialty, which is very tasty and most expensive is their buffalo chicken slice — not always available and almost $ 6 bucks a slice.
The tendency is two slices, whether you’re a bit eater or small eater. Not bad for Mexican made pizza Their only downfall is service. They’re a bit slow and have attitude problems-​not very friendly people.

Friendly, fast service with decent pizza combo deals. Not too many options but just enough to leave satisfied. Great NY style pizza and they also offer a few deep dish style pizzas by the slice! Not really many seats to sit at so you pretty much can only get your food to go.

It’s was ok pizza, there is better pizza around the same area. Only reason I went is because it wasn’t busy.

Extremely disappointing — their Sicilian pizza was just a regular pizza baked in a square shape with a thin, flavorless crust. And also so greasy that the grease was making pools on top of the cheese, even without any toppings to add greasiness.
To their credit the food did get there quickly and the service was polite — it’s just the food that was terrible!

Lunch Special–
2 Regular Slices of pizza and a 16oz drink for $ 5. Not the greatest but good enough. get it!

lunch time gets packed because of the special so so after 1:30 and you’ll be fine.

Small but pretty fast service. Simple menu. Pizza was good, crispy crust. Garlic knots not very garlicky but ok. They deliver which is a plus.

This pizza place was just across the street from our mid-​town hotel. It was just past midnight and we needed a late night snack! The pizza looked scary and cold as the large round disks sat under the heat lamps!
We selected a pepperoni and buffalo chicken slice. Once those slices glazed the hot oven and then onto our to-​go box, it was a matter of minutes before we were ready to gorge!
The pizza was still hot and the slices were AH-​MAZING! I can’t find a place anywhere in Virginia that has this crunchy crust! Besides ginormous slices, the tastiness was definitely top-​notch. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure most NYC pizza places serve awesome pizza but to have it just across the street from our hotel… allowed us to eat here 3X in 3 days!

Passed this place while walking around waiting for our bus. Looked very clean and got an A rating. Plus me being a Gotham fan, had to go in. ! ! !
Ordered 2 slices and a large drink, $ 7.50, yeah, only $ 7.50. I say that with a smile, because 2 blocks up, that same meal would have been about $ 20.
Had to wait about 5 mins for a fresh pie, there were only a handful of people in the place. We were able to get a table with ease, unlike Shake Shack. but that is for another review.
Pizza came out and it looked great. It is by far some of the best pizza that ever burned the roof of my mouth, you know what I am talking about, that feathering of the skin, ouch. This time I was lucky, I paced myself and suffered no feathering of the roof. Pizza was crispy, thin, and had a great flavor. Some of the beach pizza you get that is thin and crispy is like eating plywood. Not that I have ever eaten plywood mind ya. My son (7 yo) loved it also, only thing left was a bone, he calls the crust the pizza bone. So I finished that off as well. If I had more room on the bus, I would have seriously taken a pie home with me. This place has been saved on google maps for my next bus trip so I can enjoy again.
On a side note, we were here on a Saturday around 6pm. Around 6:20, the place got crowded. When we left around 6:30, the once empty street was now filled with a bunch of people and busses lining up. Apparently, this is a popular bus drop off/​pick up corner. So plan your visit around this on a Saturday.

Tip: Order the Grandma’s pizza. There big squares and not bad as I got 4 for $ 15 (it is NY.)

Solid pizza and for a great price.
One slice of pepperoni and four garlic knots were $ 4.50. It was good pizza too. Not some crappy, overly greasy, soggy pizza. The crust is nice a thin, just how I like it. The bottom has this nice crunch to it. One evening I came here after a show at the nearby Gershwin Theatre. The pizza was still fresh, but the garlic knots were a bit stale. I can understand that seeing as it was about an hour before they close. The second time I came to Gotham the garlic knots were great. They aren’t overwhelmingly garlicky and don’t leave your breath all gnarly after eating them.
The guys working here were not super friendly, but I didn’t really expect exceptional customer service from a little pizza joint like this. I can’t compare the pizza here to any other place in NYC because I only had pizza here, but I would definitely recommend you give Gotham Pizza a try if you’re nearby and looking for a pizza fix.

VERY thin crust! Had the white slice. It was quite good, even the crust was tasty. A little thinner crust than I usually like but it was tasty.
Has about 4 two seated tables and 2 four seated tables. Comfortable atmosphere to dine in.
Prices adequate for NYC Pizza and quality.
Quick place near the Gershwin Theatre for Wicked.

Pizza wasn’t bad, wasn’t great, it was ok. Staff, however, wasn’t courteous. And when I advised the guy working that a bug just flew on a slice of white pizza, he either didn’t understand me or didn’t care and he served that piece to the next customer. We also noticed him touching pizza slices with his bare hands, yuck! Finally, we ordered pepperoni, margherita and white pizza slices, he only heated up the pepperoni.

Our department has catered our pizza lunches from Gotham and theyre consistently good. Their Grandma’s and Margharita pies are a must bit they coat $ 25 a pie versus their cheese pies at $ 18.
Gotham offers a daily lunch deal before 3pm – two plain slices and a soda for $ 5. Sidebar: they circumvent the after school crowd and discourage their pizzareia from being a den of inevitable teenage misfits.

On point!
I had the square slice. It’s was very cheesy, nice and crunchy and the Pepperoni was spicy the way I like it!
Not much needs to be said about this place, I enjoyed a damn good slice at a very reasonable price. $ 2.75 is a good value. Most places of this caliber charge about $ 4. Not the best slice I’ve had but better than the vast majority available in NYC nowadays. PERFECT late night stop on my way to Ava Lounge a few blocks away. Will return.
