Please do not get the food here! Got the chipotle chicken sandwich and the chicken was so chewy and rubbery that it was impossible to eat, not to mention that it came to $ 7.50 for such a terrible sandwich.

Lord almighty, PLEASE do not go here. Unless you’re absolutely starving, then I’d honestly suggest going for the hot food bar, where you can tell what’s fresh/not so fresh. I went here last night because I was starving after work, grabbed a wrap with alfalfa, avocado, + grilled chicken($ 7.95), as well as a tub of cole slaw($ 2 – sketchy, I know). I should’ve stayed far away from the cole slaw. In my mind, I thought about whether it would be any good, and I wasn’t going to be rude and open up the cole slaw, so I just trusted that they wouldnt put anything that had gone bad outside. WRONG. WRONGWRONGWRONG. When I got home(3 minutes walk away), I dove into the sandwich, which was okay. But the cole slaw had gone so bad that it was literally one solid mass of smelly, rotten-sour-cream smelling MESS. I didn’t even realize until I smelled it. Looking at the other reviews on here, I doubt they’d refund me for a $ 2 cole slaw, especially with their weird customer service(counter-guy kept eyeballing me in that ‘is-she-going-to-steal’ way for the entire time I was there. Relax, dude.) Do yourself a huge favor and don’t go here unless you’re buying gum or something.

NEVERGOHERE. These people don’t stand by their products. I bought two pints of Haagen datz ice cream from them. Not only was it expensive($ 6.63 per pint), but when I got home, it was inedible. It looked like it was frozen and thawed five times. I took it back and they refused to refund me for the one that had been partly eaten. I wasn’t expecting the ice cream to be inedible so I had scooped it out into a dish before realizing it. Not only did this transaction ruin a birthday celebration, I then had to walk back to return the ice cream. Instead of being apologetic, they refused to refund me the money. This place is awful, and I will never go back here again. These idiot are too stupid to know that the cost of refunding me for a pint of ice cream is cheap, compared to losing me and my entire family’s business. This is an absolute outrage, and if I could do more than give a bad Unilocal review I would.

The Latin girl behind the counter has a serious attitude problem… She was giving me attitude over not using the correct container for hot food… I’m paying for the whole thing anyways what difference does it make, $ 5 for a little container for rice is just wrong

I went in this morning for a coffee and some water. I was looking for water in the refrigerated section. The water was in the open cases which are supposed to be refrigerated. When I touched the drinks, they were all warm. Which isn’t a problem, but there was a TON of other food in the case. All of their dairy, including eggs, yogurt, milk, and cheese was WARM!!! I told the woman at the front who said she would look into it. She did not seem interested at all. She then went back to making herself a coffee. I would definitely not eat here, given how she reacted to what I told her!

2.5 stars. Small hit or miss bodega. Prices are unreasonably high, even by Manhattan standards. The coffee is cheap; $ 1.75 for a large. The flavor is adequate and it’s always hot. It’s my main reason for stopping here. This isn’t gourmet coffee, but some days I don’t want to pay $ 5 for my java fix. A hot/cold food bar is off to the left as you enter. It offers a rotating selection of meats, vegetables, noodles, fruit, lettuces, and sometimes casseroles. It’s availability is random. I’ve not seen it set up at the same time twice. I don’t know if the food is good. I haven’t tried any. A large selection of cold beverages(soda, beer, milk, seltzer, juices, and more) is at the back of the store. Sandwiches and deli items are offered up front, and grocery items are in the middle. This place will do in a pinch.

Large hot bean soup for $ 3.50. And no preservative or msg(I would have had a headache or aftertaste). I’m sold!

I used to frequent this deli because it’s conveniently located near my workplace, but the snide and facetious attitude toward women that one of the deli workers projects finally turned me away for good. Gents, I’m not sure if you’re getting the same treatment, but I highly recommend you steer clear of this unnecessary interaction. I’ve found much better deli and buffet food at much more affordable prices a few blocks away — it’s well worth the walk!
