I want to leave Zero stars! Absolutely horrible!!! Greyhound will leave you screwed. Our bus was supposed to leave at 10:15 but didn’t leave until 2am. The bus took us off route to Philadelphia despite the fact that it was supposed to be an express bus to Cleveland. Now stuck in Philly for hours without a driver. Not certain when I will make it home and it’s Christmas eve. DO NOT EVER RIDE GREYHOUND! They are greedy and will overbook their busses, leaving you stranded!!!

Taking a Peter Pan bus from New York to Philly. The bus left 15 minutes later than scheduled, no big deal. After an hour and twenty minute drive, it abruptly stopped. It pulled over on the side of the highway (near Trenton). No announcement was made. People in front of the bus said there was enough gas. Lights went off soon. Nobody in the bus knew what happened, except seeing the bus driver talking to the driver of another car in front of us for 20 minutes. After 35 minutes, we saw him filling gas on the side of the bus with another guy. All done in silence. We don’t know where the gas was from. The driver finally came back, tried to start the bus over and over again, it would’t move. After the 15^th time, he made an announcement in a low voice that the gas is not enough to get us to Philly, that he would drop us in a service station and we could take a subway to Philly! During all this time, completely in the dark, we (passengers) called 911, greyhound in NYC and in Philly, nobody answers. We are now on the bus for 3 hours and we are still in the middle of New Jersey. During all this time the bus smells bad toilet. Good luck or never take greyhound ever again.

Laughably bad. You’ll get to your destination at one of the lower prices in the market if you pay some time in advance, but sooner or later your patience is going to be tested with lazy/​indifferent staff, terrible customer service, and delays, delays, delays (sometimes up to 6 hours). Note that this is particular ONLY to the Port Authority bus station in NYC — I’ve taken Greyhound buses in other states on different coasts on several occasions and they’ll all been fairly decent.
Avoid if you can.

This bus line is dog sh*t. I accidentally bought a ticket to print out and then wasn’t able to print and was told I had to SEND IN THE TICKET VIA SNAIL MAIL in order to get a refund! Are you f*cking kidding me? Such a scam! Then I found out I was charged twice for both the internet ticket and the one I had to buy at the station because they would accept me SHOWING them the damn ticket like every other bus line does. SCREW YOU, GREYHOUND! NEVER travel with these guys if you can help it. Go with Bolt or Mega Bus if you can help it. I’d even choose the china town bus over these guys.

If I said I hated this bus service it would be an understatement.
I used this deplorable bus company while a college student at Binghamton University. Despite the fact that it was usually slow, it was the only thing that left at 4am on Monday and got me to school right on time for my first class. (I hate Binghamton and would wait until the last minute to leave NYC) Anyway, one day in February the scheduled bus driver decided to train an obviously unfit young boy. Why let the rookie drive back 4 hours on an icy road is beyond me. There was no problem at first, but then…
It starts snowing, and for those of you that know upstate NY, well a foot of snow is the bare minimum. The snow is coming down like crazy. The roads are icy and this boy is speeding on the highway. Literally 5 minutes before getting to the station in Bing we crash into a tree. And no not like a slight dent, I meant the whole front of the bus is done, the exit door no longer exists and people are bloody. The driver instructing the new guy breaks his leg (like bone jutting out), this older lady broke her nose, almost everyone is bleeding, and I scraped the side of my face as well as cut my head.
Greyhound refused to do anything about it: no refund, no sorry, no anything. I rather walk than use their services.
I truly and utterly despise them.

Took the dirty dog round trip to Philly in Feb 2012. I was very impressed! The staff were very professional and helpful (folks at the gate, drivers, etc.) The boarding process was civilized — the gate agent called us based on seat number. The seats were comfortable and the outlets (2 grounded outlets per seating cluster) worked on both buses I took. The Greyhound (coded GLI) buses are newer than the Peter Pan (coded PPP) ones, although both were clean and serviceable. My fellow passengers hailed from all walks of life, and everyone was respectful. No loud conversations, cell phones, etc.
Greyhound picks up from the Port Authority, so the connections in NYC are very convenient and you can wait indoors. The Philadelphia terminal’s location is ideal. It is on Filbert between 10^th and 11^th, a block away from Reading Terminal market and very close to Center City. If you are in Philly to see the sites in the heart of the city, this location is more convenient than Amtrak’s Market Street /​30^th Street station.

Fuck you Greyhound. Thanks for being 2 hours behind schedule. And you lost my luggage as well. Your policies on lost luggage are incredibly stupid. I called the Baggage claim numbers the workers gave me and apparently I needed a confirmation number that they would send through the MOTHERFUCKING mail within 30 days. Seriously, wtf, it’s 2011, use email. So now I’m screwed waiting on a suitcase with all my clothing that either a dumbass took home or was left behind in a station by some dipshit worker.
Also you buses smell like ass and your wifi is shitty. Never taking Greyhound again

PABT is really not that sketchy. It’s much nicer and busier than many urban bus stations. This station has received a few improvements in the last couple years.
Anyway, the express buses have outlets on them, which is a step ahead of most airlines, and that is pretty awesome.

Not the best bus station. It was a tad sketchy in some sections as you walked around and the food was all overpriced, even in the machines. I give them an extra star for giving us a newer bus to get to Boston, though.

Greyhound is absolutely TERRIBLE.
After I recently booked a ticket to Delaware, I had a question, so I called their helpline. First, the people who work at their call center either cannot comprehend English or just don’t care, because I could not get a clear answer.
So, I write a detailed message to their email asking the same question. I receive a reply back less than a week before my trip basically telling me that my ticket was CANCELED! WTF, I did not cancel my ticket!
I call the helpline again to find out whether I have a valid ticket. I ask a clear question: tell me whether my ticket is, or is not, canceled. Apparently, Greyhound customer service reps can’t handle simple questions. After approximately 20+ minutes on the phone, he finally informs me that my ticket had NEVER been canceled, BUT he had taken the step of effectively canceling the ticket to rebook it with the Port Authority station. WTF!!! That’s not what I wanted. Not only that, but he wouldn’t state that I had a ticket! Instead, I now have to call three days prior to my trip with customer service to determine whether I could pick up my ticket, which leads me to believe that it’s not guaranteed.
What a nightmare! Worst customer service that I have ever experienced.

The Greyhound terminal in Port Authority in NYC is ridiculous, and dirty. I have many times seen pigeons, and pants-​less women… angry, pants-​less woman. Ugh.
And I do not care what they say — they most definitely sell more tickets than there are seats on a single bus. (I have found out that Mega bus and Bolt bus do not — thankfully. Even though Greyhound owns one of them… weird.)
I do not drive, and mass transit EVERYWHERE. I can say, with experience and confidence, that Greyhound for the most part is not the way to go. The good thing about them selling more tickets than seats? — If Mega and Bolt are sold out, buy a Greyhound, get there EARLY, and you’ll make the bus.
