Fresh sushi with beautiful presentation at an affordable price. That’s all I really want in life. Hane sushi fulfills all those requirements and it has outdoor seating! Perfect for a warm day and people watching. My sashimi was fresh and well portioned. While all the rolls and sashimi tasted fresh with great texture, I wouldn’t say it stands out from other solid sushi joints. But, if you’re in the area, swing by and your tummy and taste buds will be satisfied.

Hane Sushi is right up there with the top sushi laces in NYC. What makes it standout is the combination fusion rolls. Yum Yum

I always have a great time at Hane! Sushi is great and plated so beautifully. I’ve been several times! Sit at the sushi bar, it’s so fun. The two for one drinks aren’t bad either!

I usually don’t write bad reviews because I work in the food industry but the service was so horrible it left me livid! I order delivery from them and have dined there many times for dinner but they are really slow at lunch service. I went there for lunch with a friend and sat outside. 15 minutes passed and no waiter has even come to bring us water let alone take our order. We had to step inside to get help and the bored waitress looked surprised as if she didn’t even know we were seated and waiting. After she took our order, we waited almost an hour for our food!!! They weren’t even busy and the waitress LIEDTOME and said her manager wasn’t there when I asked to speak to someone. In the middle of me rushing through my meal, the manager comes out, listens to my complaints and offers nothing but an insincere«sorry.» He could have tried to remedy the issue with a discount, free dessert but I didn’t even get an explanation as to why the service was so slow. They are the only sushi place in Stuytown but I would rather go far for good service. I’m so disappointed and will NEVER return!

Consistently delicious both for delivery and eat-in. Love the huge variety in the menu, something you do not see with many sushi places. Only 4 stars because it is much pricier than most of the sushi places in the area.

I have been eating at Hane approximely once a week for the last two years, and then before that also, but more sporadically. Their sushi is consistently excellent, and fresh. I have never had a bad experience. They are also welcoming and warm. The décor is nice but casual, and the outdoor dining is lovely although they need new tables soon. The value for the money is excellent compared to the other sushi places I enjoy which are comparable in quality but more expensive(Nobu, 15 East, Jewel Bako). If you are looking for a casual location with high quality fish, this is it.

Eww. I should have walked out of here as soon as I hear servers and sushi chefs talking to each other in Chinese and as expected, things weren’t fresh. Never coming here again!

A great sushi place if you’re looking for something affordable and won’t have a long wait. I’ve been here twice, once on Valentine’s Day and once when meeting my boyfriend’s family. Both times the food was delicious and best of all is the 2 for 1 drinks! I love that they have their own rolls with interesting combinations– so there’s a lot to choose from if you’re feeling adventurous. I wouldn’t recommend this place if you are looking for a more traditional take on sushi because that’s not what they are going for here. I did take off one star because most of their rolls contained mango in it, which isn’t my favorite sushi option — but that’s more of a personal preference

So I love sushi and I’m always down to try it… this place would’ve been a 4 star, because the food is solid even though it’s not necessarily exciting. The ambience is great, and the menu is very diverse with excellent lunch special options. BUT the service brings it down 2 stars. I was in with my mom on Friday getting lunch and as we asked questions about the menu, the server seemed a little impatient. Then after my mom asked to change one of her sides, the server interrupts her and says«I have to go so…» And we just froze. In all honesty we didn’t ask that many questions nor was our order that complicated, so to have her point blank say that she had to go meaning we should hurry our orders along was incredibly rude. If she didn’t have time to take our order, she shouldn’t have even bothered to ask if we were ready. She didn’t even up coming around again and someone else brought our food out, but I was just so turned off from the place. With the food being good but not great, and the rudeness of the server, I just won’t be coming back again.

My family has been coming to Hane since it opened«many» years ago replacing neighborhood legend Emerald Too(RIP). Hane’s service is always fantastic, polite and accommodating. 2 for 1 drinks are hard to beat. Personally I’ve never been that blown away by their hot entrees but their sushi is always fresh and they routinely add new«special rolls». Try the shrimp dumpling soup appetizer! Hane, Hane!

I NEVER write reviews but this place is so not worth coming! Not only did they get our orders wrong, but it took forever to get our food! Never coming again!

This restaurant constantly amazes me. They are always busy but the food is consistently mediocre. I have to believe the entire reason people patronize Hane is because the restaurant is conveniently located by Stuy Town and Peter Cooper Village. The service is usually quite friendly(especially to my young children) but… The flashiness of the plating makes it clear they spend more time trying to make the food look good instead of making it taste good. The sushi pieces are small and not as fresh as you’d like, and the rice is frequently not the right texture(too firm/undercooked — cardinal sin at a sushi place). The prices are also high for a neighborhood sushi restaurant. Not a good choice if you are looking for a good sushi/Japanese restaurant.

LOVE hane sushi. used to come here a lot when i lived in stuytown, the special rolls are clutch. and the fact that they have pictures of what each special roll/rolls look like(so you have an idea of what you are getting yourself into) is awesome. wine isn’t amazing — but the 2 for 1 drink specials(all day every day) is pretty sweet. came here last night with a group of six — we each got a bunch of rolls, drinks & apps and it was about $ 50 a person. i didn’t think it was bad at all considering the amount of food/drinks we got. suggest going –especially if you live around the area!

I’ve never actually ate at the restaurant, but I have ordered delivery from them twice. My first experience was about a year ago and was very mediocre. I didn’t really see what all of the hype was about. I decided to give them another try tonight and ordered the shrimp tempura roll and the fantasy roll. SOSOGOOD. The fantasy roll is an absolute dream! Will definitely make an effort to actually eat AT the restaurant in the near future.

Service is good. Spacious seating. Food is mediocre at best. Soba noodle soup is just blend and tasteless. Sashimi is ok. This is not authentic Japanese food. East side has plenty of good Japanese restaurants opened by Japanese chef. This one does not make the cut.

This place was peetty neat. We came at around 830⁄9 and were seated very promptly. The staff were very attentinve, informative and very polite. The food was very good as well and we went overboard. We ordered the tuna avocado salad and I really loved the tuna tartar the way it was prepared and the vinageette sauce in the salad. We went a little overboard on tuna. We also ordered another disg of tuna tartar placed in tese light crispy doughy chips. Very good with the wasabi. We then ordered yellowtail jalepeno and I loved the presention. I much more preffered Momoya yellowtail sashimi but this was good as well. Then orderes crispy shrimp(very good) and spicy tuna roll. We also got one other roll with peices of sashimi and caviar on top. Everything was fantastic and we were more than stuffed. I will deffinitly return

I had one really bad experience with the staff where I literally got up and left(nothing had been ordered at this point). It is so close to my apartment so its«my sushi place» if I am going to get take out. Salmon tartare had decent portion when I gave this place a go a second time around. Its not spectacular, but for those nights with sushi cravings, you can count on this spot
