Hershey’s Times Square Store

This was a super disappointing candy superstore. I wanted the grandour and splendor of having every kind of Hershey’s candy ever. That just wasn’t the case since the store is in a one story cramped space. It doesn’t compare to the flashy signage advertising it outside. I found Reese’s Sticks, which was the goal, but that doesn’t really make up for the dullness that’s inside, does it?

I love the Hershey’s store, but this is not my fave. I prefer the Vegas one, Here there is a small selection. Imagine that the chocolate Lady Liberty is in the Vegas store as opposed to the NY store, a hop skip and jump from her steel counterpart… right. But still a great stop to mark off the tourist log.

the Hershey Co. might be a multi-​billion dollar titan of sweets, but this store is hardly representative of that monetary clout.
as many reviews have cited, the store is deceptively small. the large façade and ginormous light-​em up signs make you think you’re going to something on par with the M&Ms multi-​floor immersive candy experience… this is not the case.
there’s always a line of tourists (domestic n foreign) trying to squeeze their backpacks, strollers, and sidewalk-​crowding gawking kids into the store. the line and the wait isn’t the issue, so much as why did they pick such a small space for so much merchandise.
anyway once you enter the store, you typically get a Hershey’s candy (a kiss) and then you need to push your way through the crowds of people not buying anything to get the candy, branded merchandise, and other items for sale. the store itself is well lit and looks okay in terms of merchandising and décor. there’s some interesting candified display and art pieces throughout the store to give the store a lil bit of «eye candy» so it doesn’t i just seem like any old store full of candy… but i find the M&M STORE or even It’s Sugar more interesting. would’ve expected more from a giant candy conglomerate. the twist and wind of walking space is fairly narrow and limited, considering how many people pack the store during peak and off-​peak hours… so you will bump and have to slide by folks to make it to whatever you’re trying to buy and then back to the cashier area which is near the front of the store.
things are organized by the different Hershey candy brands like Hershey Kisses, Reeses, etc. so you find giant-​sized versions of the candies like the 1 lbs. Reese’s Buttercup pack or giant Hershey Kisses. and of course the shelves and floorspace is stacked with different candified merch like t-​shirts, hats, etc. tattooed with your favorite candy logos. there’s also customize/​personalize candy services here, but that area looked super packed to me and another area where you need to wait on line forever. so pass.
i bought a giant Reese’s ButterCup pack as a gift. waiting on a winding line. and the cashier took care of me pretty quick. the staff here seems nice and are doing their best but are overwhelmed bc of the crowds and the small floorspace. so at times they seem flustered but it’s not really their fault. idk.
i will say this. none of the stuff at this store is really exclusive to the store. you can find it online or any mass retailer. there are no special flavors etc. of the various chocolate brands at the Hershey store if they are… they aren’t communicating that well to people on the store. the prices are at the store are no cheaper than other stores. so outside of the giant items which probably aren’t in mass and discount retail year round… everything you can pretty much find at a CVS, Duane Reade, Wal-​Mart, etc. it’s odd to see people who travelled x-​amount miles to visit NYC, crowd a store that is just okay, buy stuff that they could pick up at a convenience store or an airport store when they are leaving NYC, and then lug it all around Times Sq and elsewhere. we really are consumers at heart… so maybe that’s why the behavior defies sense or logic.
i’m sure the store is making money hand over fist, but i’m unlikely to revisit this spot again unless i need something last-​minute or Amazon Prime fails me in the future.

Your typical Hershey’s brands emblazoned with the words «Times square» with a mild mark up in price. Some novelty items that are difficult to find, some other items such as key chains. Not a must do by any means but fun, unlike the overpriced M&M store just across the street.

Talk about branding ! You can find mugs, pajama pants, pens, anything with your favorite chocolate on it. They have an amazing selection of Reese’s stuff my personal favorite ! The store is small and cramped with a whole lot of tourists ! Every single time I’ve went in my entire life time it’s been super packed in there with people. Its also a bit on the expensive side.

I prefer Hershey’s and Recess over any other chocolate, but the layout of the store did not impress me. It was just one floor, kind of cramped with a lot of chocolate everywhere. It had a Recess section with some pajamas, mugs etc. The only thing that impressed me was huge Hershey’s Kiss (one pound) and the world’s largest chocolate bar. The Kiss was $ 15 and the chocolate bar $ 40. I purchased the Kiss and it was disappointing to find out it was hollow inside.

I can see why Hershey would open a store here, after all, M&Ms have been very successful with the format. However the major difference is in the execution.
For one the Hershey store is a lot smaller than the competitor across the road — and boy was it hot in there, and it stank of artificial chocolate smell. I bet the workers have gone nose blind to it.
Because of the small stature of the store, it was very cramped inside and given that, and the number of people in here, it was hard to get around.
My suggestion would be to pop in if you’re in the area busting M&Ms World across the street, but don’t go out of your way to get here.

2 Hershey Kisses given out on arrival!
It was a warm day in NYC for October, and it was even warmer in here. Surprised the chocolate hadn’t all melted!
I was a bit let down by the variety on offer — they had lots of made up gift packs of normal candy bars. I wanted to see some of the different filled Kisses but the choices were lacking.
We did get a Christmas ornament and a t-​shirt though — but admittedly, odd choices from a candy shop.
I thought it was perfectly fine, but not a destination.

When you’re in times squared with your family, this is a must stop. Is it touristy? YES, HELL YES!, but when your parents are in NYC for the first time, almost everything in time square must be visited. The were handing out free samples at least.

This place has huge over-​sized candy. At the back my 8yr old granddaughter got to spin a wheel and fill-​up a bucket with Hershey kisses that come down a pipe from upstairs. The staff person gave her a hat and made the experience fun. This store has chocolate souvenirs shaped in the form of various of the city landmarks. Good place to visit while in Time Square

Its in times square so of course its crowded. Its a fun place to check out. Everything Hershey’s that you can think of.

Personally I like M&M World better than this place. The store itself is only one floor (with high ceilings) and it is a medium-​sized space for a heavily populated tourist attraction. The prices are of course hiked up, when you could purchase the same Hershey’s chocolate bag or bar in a convenience store for a lot cheaper. I did admire the customization of chocolate bars for graduates, birthday celebrants and other occasions. They also have a good selection of gifts to get loved ones.
Not only do they have chocolate, but other candy such as Twizzlers (and unique flavors such as strawberry lemonade and fruit lunch). I ended up getting these two Twizzlers bags, Hershey’s s’mores and salted caramel chocolate squares. They were very tasty and fully satisfied my chocolate craving.

When you see a building on the corner in Times Square that looks like Willy Wonka designed it with neon lights, lots of three dimensional oversized candy bars above the entrance. You just found the Hershey shop. I needed to get warm and out of the freezing cold snow. I stepped in and was greeted with free kisses at the door. They have gigantic Hershey candy bars, King size Hershey syrup bottles and candy bars with NYC taxi’s on them. My favorite was the Chocolate Statue of Liberty. This is right in the Theater District in Times Square. Fun candy shop to check out and pick up a few unique items to share if you are visiting. Be in the moment and enjoy some chocolate. Lots of people wish they could be in your shoes visiting NYC and hanging out in Times Square after a Broadway Show. Step inside have some chocolate

Couldn’t resist stopping here! The chocolate smell outside was just luring me to go in! The melting smell of chocolate was so good! I love this store, all the gift items and it’s in NY Time Square! This is the second Hershey’s store I have found! I will look for more! Hail to the Hershey’s!!! Delish!!!

Le paradis de la gourmandise en plein Time Square! Du chocolat, du caramel, du beurre de cacahuète, des bonbons… Mes yeux et mon estomac né savaient plus où regarder et où gargouiller.
Finalement, on a craqué sur du beurre de cacahuète liquide pour un cadeau. c’était pas hors de prix et c’était bon!!!
La boutique est assez grande mais comme toutes les boutiques de Time Square, il y a du monde!

Just because I have a sweet tooth doesn’t mean I’m going to leave a sweet rating for this tourist trap.
The exterior of the store was very decorative. Outside, there were multiple signs that revealed different candies that were owned by Hershey’s. There was also a window display that revealed sculptures of Hershey’s notable candies, which included a regular bar, Reese’s cups, and Hershey’s kisses. All of them looked good, but the signs looked even better when they were lit up in the night. As far as exterior decorations were concerned, it was consistent with the overall vibe of Times Square, which was nice.
The interior of the store was really small, and some of Hershey’s decorations were existent inside too. While it was clear that some aisles and shelves were moved around (compared to my previous visit long ago) so people could hopefully venture through in a more, smoother manner, it didn’t help with the congestion that was existent in this store. It was crowded in here, therefore you had to be patient when walking through to see what they had. Speaking of what they had, this store carried regular Hershey’s items. Aside from that, they also carried souvenir items, including drinking glasses, mugs, and standard boxes filled with regular Hershey’s candy (basic Miniatures or Kisses). They even carried choco — scented candles too.
I didn’t see any unique flavors at all while I was here. What they had here can simply be bought at supermarkets with lower prices (excluding souvenir items). Speaking of the prices, they were really HIGH! Don’t expect to find any bargains in this store. The only different items that I found here were the giant choco syrup bottles and huge chocolate bars and peanut butter cups. Of course those were priced really high too.
Finally, how can you say no to FREE samples? During my most recent visit, they gave away free samples of York Peppermint Patties and Crème De Menthe Bliss chocolates. Those were quite tasty, and if people liked chocolate and mint combined, then they would have loved those samples. Sample distributions do vary from time to time.
If you’re not a fan of small stores with really high pricing, then consider skipping this one. But if you’re always curious to see what they have, and want to grab some samples, then go for it!

Que Willy Wonka né fasse pas de vague car sur Time Square, le roi de la confiserie se nomme Hershey.
Bien qu’immense comme tout ce qui se trouve dans le coin, la boutique semble un peu en retrait, la faute une moindre centralisation du gros passage de foule et un éclairage qui né l’a mets pas suffisament en valeur.
C’est sympa à visiter mais presque tout ce que l’on trouve à l’intérieur, est disponible dans d’autres magasins, mêmes des concurrents et c’est un peu moins cher.

Der Laden is super wenn man auf Hershey (bzw. wie ich auf Reeses Paenut Butter Cups :-)) steht Unterschiedlichste Dinge, darunter natürlicjh viel Süßes, aber auch total coole T shirts und Taschen zu New York Preisen halt

Hershey‘s gehört noch mit zu dem Besten an Schokolade, was die USA zu bieten hat (und das ist schon nicht viel) und der Store sieht auch wirklich nett aus, aber das war es dann auch schon.
Die Preise sind einfach unverschämt. Im Supermarkt einen Block weiter gab es sämtliche Produkte mindestens 20% günstiger.
Das Personal ist gestresst und der Laden ist so eingerichtet, dass man sich auf den Füßen rumtrampeln muss.
Reinschauen ja Dann aber gleich wieder raus.

toller laden, super schokiauswahl, preise sind zum teil sogar günstiger wie im supermarkt… nicht ganz so groß und nicht nur merchandise wie bei m&m gegenüber… sollte man mal reinschauen!

DER Laden für den Schoko-​Junkie. Riesige Auswahl und die Preise sind für ein Geschäft am Times Square auch noch annehmbar. Man sollte es aber vermeiden, seinen Freunden zu gestehen, dass einem die Marke Hershey’s nicht wirklich etwas sagt man war äußerst entsetzt!

Look. I LOVE Hershey. I mean love. I’ve been to military balls in Hershey Park, and I buy bulk in chocolate bars every 2 weeks to get me through the «tough days of being a girl».
I don’t know what is up with this store, though, and I only say this after going to the M&M store across the street.
While I LOVE the fact that every single person who walks in the store is greeted with a Hershey Kiss, there is simply something missing from this store… mainly like a few floors of the tons of stuff they sell in Pennsylvania!
Step up the game! I don’t want to buy Mars, but you made me buy Mars!
