So sad to see this place go. I came here for a friend’s birthday early last year, totally new to everything. I took quite awhile to figure out what I was getting because lots of the noodles all look the same on the menu. I ended up deciding on thick egg noodles, tofu, pork dumplings, spinach and vegetable soup. Absolutely delicious! I’ve come here a few times after my first visit long ago and it was consistently awesome. I know it’s been months since this place has closed but it was totally the start of my ramen obsession and I had to pay homage somehow; having just tried another ramen spot that wasn’t as good!
HKS, you will be missed.

I’m so upset that this place is now closed replaced with a ramen shop… don’t we have enough of those?! I used to come here whenever I was in the neighborhood to get my saucy pork egg over rice. I walked in last week with a friend and saw that it was a new company and they don’t have any rice platters whatsoever! I want rice! Not noodles! I never bought noodles when I was there. Now I have to live with the memories of that place and the great food it once had. I deducted one star because one time I went in there and the two serving girls laughed at my friend because she was dressed very Afrikan-​esque. Sorry all black folks aren’t walking around looking like gangster rejects. We are actually proud of our culture. Anyway, r.I.p to Hong Kong station.

Does anyone know if they are reopening somewhere else? Really loved it and it would be really sad that they just close for good.

I love this place because it’s so cheap, hardly crowded and delightfully delicious.
I always like to get the beef over rice with a fried egg on top.
You can also customize your noodles and rice dishes any way you want.
This place allows you to relax and feel comfortable amongst all the crowded Chinatown restaurants.
Just don’t get the bubble tea. Worst I have ever had in my life.

First time here and I’m quite impressed. Three stars because the soup was too salty. I got the rice noodle with curry fish balls and choy-​sum (leafy green veggies). I think the yummy curry fish balls probably made the soup saltier. The servers were very friendly and answered my questions. I also got the HK style milktea and it was great, it tasted even better when the ice was melted since it was a bit sweet (for me).
Bottom line– fast service, good price, good portion. Will definitely come back for a quick food stop again.

Self service.
You go up to order and pay for your food and then they will signal you up when your food is ready. I think it would have been more convenient if they gave you a number and just call your number instead of waving at you to come up and get your food.
You grab your food which is placed on a tray with chopsticks, a spoon, and tissues. You can then choose a seat anywhere.
The style is kind of like cafeteria style.
I ordered a spicy mixed combo which was noodle with fish balls, chicken wings, hot dog, a piece of spam, and an egg for a little under $ 9. There was two pieces of fish balls and chicken wings and one of everything else.
The food was really good and I was obsessed by the soup base. They could have added a few more fish balls or another piece of spam so it could feel like I am getting my money worth. The meal was not particularly fulfilling but it was really good.
I would come back to give their other food items a try.

This place is alright. Great for a quick /​fast meal but food did not stood out to me. I got the beef combo noodle to go. Was not very tasty and pretty blend. Beef tendon was good tho. I’m not sure if I’m a fan. Their menu looks interesting with lots or selections and you get to make your own noodle dish etc Eric. Cool concept but food does not stand out. Service was good so that’s a place. I’ve heard about this place before where it used to be good not sure what happened? Maybe il give it a try again for other dishes when I’m in the area.

I’ve been here a total of about four times and everytime was a great experience. This place is very express and I would go here if you want a quick bowl of noodle soup. My favorite is the thin egg noodle with dumpling with salmon roe, spring rolls, and fish balls! You can not forget the garlic chili sauce they offer! I also love their chicken broth! Also make sure you ask them to add scallions.
I think people that go here and give this place a bad review must not know how to order. How can you go wrong with a bowl of noodle soup accustomed to your likings?

I came here for authentic hong Kong style drinks! One of my all time faves is the ribena with lemon. My cup could’ve used another slice of lemon but then again, I like it super sour. Friends got milk tea and a coke with lemon. Everyone was throughly impressed.

Pros: I came here right after work to stop for some noodles. When I walked in, I was greeted by some very friendly servers. I ordered a pulled noodle because I never tried such noodles before and I am not disappointed. There are so many different toppings to choose from, but I absolutely love their curry fish balls. I also got a lemon Ribena which was absolutely refreshing. Great service and friendly workers.
Cons: There was a bit of a wait to order, pay and for the restroom. There were a few workers who couldn’t speak Chinese, so it took a while for non-​English speakers to order.
Overall, it’s a great spot in Chinatown !

Been coming to this particular Hong Kong Station for roughly 5 years now. My go-​to when I’m in around Chinatown, which is not often at all nowadays, i hope my misery in HKS deprivation can help u al realize how awesome this place is.
Modern décor, casual ambience, English-​friendly. The atmosphere of this place reminds me of the «staff canteens» in TVB dramas.
I usually come for the custom noodles, where you’re charged for each topping you add onto the flat rate noodle and broth. Get the curry fishball, beef (insert body part) stew [pronounced ngao lan], and choy sum. I have recently come across their COMBOS, comes out cheaper than the custom noodles, duh!
When I was there last year, I was handed a stamp card by the owner perhaps? Never saw that guy again. Where you get a free topping on your noodle after 10 topping stamps. Not much but better than nothing.
–1 star for certain nights of the week, the seats and tables will be hogged up with teenagers and men watching sports games. The staff doesn’t seem to care that new patrons have no available seating, staff members actually sat to watch with them sometimes.

My rating reflects the gimmicks that these guys pull on you for $ 1-​$ 2 per small scoop. I’ve been here 3x and each time I was never full even ordering $ 15 worth of stuff. And guess what my friends who are both Anemic and Bulemic would agree. I would imagine a fast food joint giving you a satisfying meal by $ 8 max but I ended up being full on water alone with their incredible amount of MSG and other salt like condiments.
Honestly I’d like to suggest a fixed full sized bowl for $ 8 with say at least 5 choices, I’ll even take 2 choices as long as the bowl is full. What a way to rip people off. I might as well open up a Kowloon Station and do just what I suggested.
The reason it wasn’t a one star is because they at least hire half decent looking people don’t necessarily rush you when ordering.

Had the special with some squid added for fun for something around 10.25. There are definitely better options around, as well as other Hong Kong fast food style places that offer more in general for less. It’s cleaner though.
Took a bit to get, though the people are nice.
Overall, the food was OK, curry fish balls were the best thing along with the skin, I wasn’t a fan of the noodles as they lumped a lot and the broth was moderately flavorful. Meat otherwise was just OK, beef stew was probably the best of what was in there but that isn’t saying much when the other bland flavors blended together. More that it had a better texture
If you want a quick clean bite, it isn’t that bad, but there is better around.

This is my new favorite restaurant for a casual meal.
— It’s clean, with comfortable seating to dine in.
— I like the menu a lot: you can pick the noodle variety and customize toppings, or simply pick one of those that are already there.
— food are fresh. And the taste are balanced without extra spice. I really appreciate healthy and delicious Chinese food in New York, knowing that to most Chinese places I need to forewarn them «no msg please». So whenever I come across a place that’s just good by itself, I value it tremendously.

I like this place. You can create your own noodle bowl dish here. Put whatever you like in there. Much better to know what you put inside your own food. Pick a type of noodle. Choose a soup base. Choose your toppings. Put it all together and you have made your own noodles. Cheap and its a place for a quick bite or slurp.

Hong Kong Station has an interesting concept of creating your own bowl of noodle soup. You are able to add your choice of soup, noodle, and toppings. I personally like rice noodles, curry fish balls, and lots of green leafy vegetables.
Yes, quality did degrade overtime as other Unilocalers have mentioned. It could also be that this style of eating is not trendy anymore and consumers like us, have simply experienced better.
Overall, I think this place is just on the borderline of OK. I hope they do improve on quality and value.

This place is pretty bad (read euphemism). They serve their noodle soups in these cheap looking, plastic bowls that become all bendy from the hot liquid. I’m sorry but that is gross and inexcusable. They also use way too much oil.
And the amount of five spice that they use in their dishes was over the top. Could not even sip the soup. For all you non-​asians that don’t know five-​spice. Think of it as the asian version of blue cheese. It is an acquired taste. Like blue cheese, some people love it; most people can’t stand it.
I’m giving an extra star because the prices were decent. If I spent even a penny more on this fast food version of soup noodles, I would’ve been hangry. And you don’t want to see me hangry (re: Bruce Banner).

Hong Kong Station is a place similar to a cafeteria. You go on line to order the food and then find your own seat to eat. The most popular way to eat there is to pick a type of noodles and pick as many toppings as you want — toppings include fish balls, beef stew, chicken legs, pig feet, veggies, and many more. They have two types of soup — chicken and vegetable. The quality of the food varies from time to time. It depends on who is making your order. The portions may also depend on the mood of the workers — so annoying.
I remember when this place first opened and I would get a bowl of noodles for a little over $ 5. Now, one bowl of noodles with four toppings is about $ 8 and the portion has been significantly reduced. Although they have added so many different types of side dishes and appetizers, it’s still not a first choice for me. I’d have to be craving it. I really hope management considers retraining employees to provide more consistent service and food.

Been coming here weekly on sundays for breakfast because of its convenient location and fast service. But recently they hired new people and service got slower. It is still clean and cafeteria style where you order food and bring your food in a black tray to a table of your choice.
I usually order off their breakfast special menu. This time I had the satay beef with instant noodle. It was delicious, it is the sauce they used in it that taste so good. It was flavorful and a tiny bit spicy. The beef was mediocre, it is the sauce that makes this special and make you crave more of it like an addiction.
The iced hk milk tea was ok. Nothing really special. I think they add a little too much ice in it but you prob could have requested for less ice.
After eating, the trays are left on the table and there will be people to clean it up.
I feel this place went a little downward in terms of service after hiring the new people but the food quality remained the same.

I’ve always walked past this place meaning to go and try it. From the exterior, it looks clean and there’s always people dining here.
I was a bit overwhelmed with the ordering process, so I chose the beef noodle soup combo, the finney soup, and a mango green tea. I was not impressed with anything. The beef soup was more cow organ parts (pancreas, tendon, and meat ball of unknown parts) which are OK in my book, but I’m pretty sure Westerners would not like this soup. The noodles (udonish) were cooked perfectly but the broth was not that flavorful. The finney soup reminds me of a «not sour» hot and sour soup. As weird as it sounds, it was an oily soup. I had a couple spoonfuls and didn’t eat the rest of it. The mango green tea was not good at all. It tasted very sweet and artificial. Luckily, my friend ended up working late and texted me to do dinner elsewhere and I was outta there in a heartbeat.
The price was right though, everything was under $ 16
Not sure if they have a bathroom or not. I think this place makes boba tea but I’d have to come back to try. I will come back, but I will stick to the noodle soup dishes.
