I had given them a good review in 2011 when we used them for a move so I used them again in 2016 from my apartment to house move. I packed everything on my own except for the large items, big furniture, a TV and a very heavy and delicate computer tower that was there responsibility.
A few days before the move I expected a call with a time window or just a confirmation that they were coming so on that Saturday before I was calling and texting the number with no answer until I finally found the girls cell phone number in an email and texted her. It’s very strange to not have an off hours number for a moving company on the weekend when people are moving?
They showed up on time and wrapped most of my items fine and transported everything to my new house. Once we got to the house the guys were not super careful. They almost busted an antique lighting fixture taking up my mattress, stuff was falling on the floor. I was very overwhelmed when I did the walk through downstairs that I didn’t notice small things only if big things were broken which downstairs they weren’t. Upon their departure, I noticed my dining room table was full of scratches as were my nightstand and the computer tower they packed up was completely broken and shattered (it seems like it «fell off» the truck). I told them about this the next day and after a week of calling different people they referred me to their insurance company who put in a claim. The claim came back and after busting my computer and messing up my other stuff they want to give me back $ 49.50 which is pretty unacceptable. They said they pay out based on the pounds moved– apparently it doesn’t have anything to do with the value of your things which makes no sense.
Anyone who is moving — I advise you to find extra insurance because if this company or another company breaks your stuff, the movers are not responsible.

I’m surprised at the negative reviews here so thought I would finally write one… I had held off doing so for one tiny thing that gnawed at me (will get to that later). But my overall experience with this company was positive.
We moved from Manhattan to Queens last summer & had a great experience with I Move Green. I chose them because one of my worries about moving was the risk of picking up bed bugs… I had been hearing a lot about how they are easily transported through moving vehicles unless you buy all your own blankets, &/​or if the company takes precautions, etc. I Move Green was the only company I found that had a whole procedure of bed bug prevention that I liked involving heat treating the vehicles & blankets before the move. So it was worth it to me for that. Plus I like that they were affiliated with a major co like Bekins. My communications with the office & my move consultant went well — they were accommodating, professional & clear.
My movers rocked! They were communicative, professional & efficient. My move clocked in at UNDER my estimate, which I really appreciated.
Here’s the tiny thing that got me. Okay some background — we were moving in the wake of a devastating family tragedy. So you can say I was a bit emotional over the move & other stuff, still sort of am. I had so much on my plate dealing with this move on my own that the night before, I asked a few friends what I should tip each of the movers, they gave an amount & that’s what I tipped them. It was a lower percentage than what I’d tip at, say, a restaurant or something, but I’m usually a stupidly generous tipper so I hopped on the chance to have other people take one decision off my plate (note, I was moving from a 1 bedrm apt, I didn’t have a house full of stuff, both buildings had elevators). Well, the guys were visibly disappointed. And even when they came back for something after that, I thought of giving more but my mind was in a zillion places (realizing I had just moved from my home of 8 yrs after a death in our family) that I didn’t. It still bothers me to this day but at the same time, the guys could’ve been a little more gracious despite their disappointment. Sorry guys — I’ll do better next time (which I hope is VERY far in the future) & I recommend you to everyone I know, raving about the bed bug prevention, professionalism etc & telling them to tip you well, ok? Meanwhile, you could work a bit on being a little more thankful for the tips… I might not have given what you wanted but at least I wasn’t one of those grumps that don’t tip movers at all.
So yes, overall a very good experience with I Move Green.

This is the worst moving company in the history of time. They are so awful and malicious. They have a policy of quoting you a 5 day window when they will drop-​off your items — and then expect you to cancel all of your plans at a moments notice to fit their schedule. There is ZERO negotiation. I’m not sure if their clients have jobs or not, but I find it simply impossible to clear my schedule for an entire week so I’m ready for their movers. There are a lot of fantastic options when it comes to scheduling a move — don’t waste your time with this bunch of crooks.

Scam alert! I’ve been in real estate since 1988 (NY/​NJ licensed) and have never come across such shady, unscrupulous individuals. I recently moved from Guttenberg, NJ to Sydney Australia and I got scammed by these unsavory characters. I paid them in full, the agreed upon amount on the day they moved my stuff out… only to receive an additional invoice (for USD $ 2,000) out of left field 45 days later once I was already in Sydney. First Yaron Arbietman (the owner/​manager) tried to play tough guy and demanded that unless I pay him this new invoice he wouldn’t release my belongings and start charging me daily storage fees… thankfully my attorney (Carmine LoFaro) called Yaron out on his B.S. and ultimately imove green was forced to deliver my belongings without me having to pay this extortion fee. So my stuff arrived 5 moths later (originally I was told 2 months) with several items damaged and broken, and my very expensive Tempurpedic mattress had water
seems that this must be a common scam that they Yaron, and his staff member Joseph Genis run often… wait till the unsuspecting client leaves the country and then squeeze more money out of themand threaten to not deliver their belongings until they give in to their extortion tactics. I must say that the actual moving staff that came and did the packing was courteous and professional… too bad they work for people with no integrity. Run away from these crooks… you’ll be glad you did!

Dishonest. Total lack of communication. A total scam. They moved us from Japan to Germany. They are hardly green. We have more boxes and paper than we know what to do with. They will tell you that they will stand by your side throughout the entire move, they don’t. Once you pay them you will hardly hear back from them. You’ll get all kinds of excuses like we moved our offices, we were off for 2 weeks for a holiday, and on it goes. Expect to pay additional fees that they do not tell you about upfront. Expect to not have any of your boxes or paper used to wrap your belongings picked up and removed. They will expect you to unpack all of your boxes while they are moving you in. Expect to have your belongs delivered broken and you will receive a shrug and denial that they had anything to do with it. This company is not on the up and up.

Recently made the move from NYC to Greenpoint. And after my last move where I rented a u-​haul and spent about 12 hours lugging my crap into it, then unloading it and dragging it up 3 floors at midnight (with my new neighbors yelling at me in the process), I figured I’d save myself the agony and do what any lazy new yorker with disposable income would do: pay someone else to do it.
Called them up, haggled a little for the price and avoided the upsells as best as I could, and came out with a very reasonable price. They showed up bright and early (actually a little earlier than I had requested, so I had to wake up to let them in), and they got to work. I had pre-​boxed my stuff, I think they had an option to box it up for you but I’m particular about my stuff so I did it myself.
A couple hours later, I was surrounded by those same boxes in my new apartment — nothing broken (and believe me I checked quite thoroughly). The movers were nice enough, but then again I guess they’re here to move your crap and not make small talk.
Overall, it was a pain-​free experience and pretty much what I expected and wanted for my first professional move. I’ve already recommended them to a couple of my friends who are moving from Long Island to the city, so let’s hope they have a similar experience!

Did a 2 part move. Had to move from NYC to London for my job so half my stuff went to my parents place in Dallas and the stuff I actually needed went to London for me. Normally I’d give a 4 star here but since they told me to just label stuff London or Dallas and it’ll arrive at the right place at the right time and it worked. Wasn’t so expensive considering the job i did and the movers were extremely gentile and nice guys too. I’d recommend them for sure.

The experience I had with them was great! They made it so easy and completely stress free. They gave me an amazing price and actually came well with in the time window they said they would. All the men were very professional and careful with my stuff. Not only did they handle my boxes with care, but they did it quickly as well. This is the first time i’ve ever moved where nothing was broken or scratched. I had a wonderful experience with these men and would definitely use them in my next move! I would also recommend (and urge) other people to use them if they are looking for an effortless move.

I had a fabulous experience with them for a local move within New York so decided to recommend them to my boss for her move from NYC to CA. It has turned out to be one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve ever encountered. While they did deliver during their anticipated delivery window, it was during the last 3 days of that over 2-​week period. Additional charges had to be tacked on totaling over $ 400 that was ½ because of their incompetent sales staff who didn’t properly fill out the paperwork based on what I had asked for. Long story short, I think they’re fine for very simple moves within NYC, but not for complicated moves (packing/​unpacking, lots of furniture/​stuff, etc.), and especially not for interstate moves. Oh yeah, and they definitely don’t hold the belief that «the customer is always right.»

Towards the beginning of the year a friend of mine was moving to Manhattan. I helped make some calls for her and I got to iMoveGreen. I would have to say the whole experience was just amazing. From the person I talked to on the phone, to the movers. The person on the phone seemed to listen and even made suggestions to what I was asking. The contract was written up quickly and emailed to my friend. The movers showed up when they were supposed to, which is very unusual if you have ever moved before. They took extremely well care of my friend’s items and were very courteous. I would definitely recommend them to anyone moving in the New York area.

They arrived when they said they would and gave me a great price. Simple and to the point, what more could you ask for?
And best of all, nothing was scratched or broken. Compared to my last company (i’ll save them the embarrassment) iMoveGREEN is x1000 better.

A family run operation that exceeds expectations beyond all realms of the imagination. My move was a nightmare until i called these guys. Quick, clean, friendly, and cautious. They understand the worry of a big move and are willing to walk through the whole process with you. Highly recommended.

I never actually go out of my way to recommend anyone but these guys were just phenomenal so i figured why not. I have moved quite a few times in my life and this was surely the best moving experience I have ever had!

AWFUL movers! My time window was from 3:00 — 5:00…and they showed up at 7:00. Completely unapologetic, clearly didn’t care. One of the guys then had the audacity to tell me he wouldn’t charge me for going over the time limit of 4 hours, as if he was doing me a favor. Which made no sense — there was no WAY my tiny move would take anywhere NEAR 4 hours, let alone go over. it literally took 1 hour, total, for them to do the entire move.
In addition to being 2 hours late, they managed to break lots of things. Thanks guys! I heard them DROPPING things down the stairs and was hopeful they managed to not drop the ONLY BOX marked «glass, fragile.» But no such luck. They shattered multiple glass items, including one that had extreme sentimental value. Amazing that it could make it from Dublin to Philadelphia, and yet not from the east side of Manhattan to the west side. Absolutely incompetent, unprofessional, and just plain awful to deal with. I would NOT TRUST these guys to move your stuff or to do anything related to bed bug removal/​prevention. That stuff requires extreme expertise – these guys were idiots, don’t trust them to do anything that requires even a tiny bit of care.

Quick and painless = a move with iMoveGreen. The company gave me an estimate for how long it would take to move my stuff, and the move ended up taking less time than estimated, so I was charged less than originally planned, which was great! I made it clear that I needed the movers to be on time because I had to go to work after the move, and the movers actually showed up a little early, which was even better for me. Everyone I worked with and spoke to was incredibly friendly and polite, and all of my stuff arrived in one piece. I highly recommend this company, especially given all of the bed bug protections they take. All moving companies should follow their example!

I recently moved within Queens, NY. This company was a pleasure to deal with from their sales rep to the movers. They were courteous and efficient and came cheaper than their competitors. The moving team arrived on time and were quick yet careful. We were safely at our new home in about 3 hours with our belongings intact. They worked with a smile and showed great care. Highly recommended!

Quick move with nothing broken. If you get the extreme bed bug package you are supposed to get a bottle of spray (I didn’t receive it) and you pay for a minimum of 5 hours or $ 700. My move took less than 2 hours. I was less than thrilled with paying a minimum when they didn’t even use half of the time. Not sure it was worth the money…

I moved cross country from Brooklyn to the Bay area in October and had a horrible and traumatic experience with this company. They promised me a 7 – 10 day delivery date which was written on my contract — they told me they had a truck leaving a few days after the movers would come and pack up my stuff.
A couple of days before my family and I were supposed to relocate, I called to find out where my contents were and found out they had been sitting in a warehouse for over one week! There was no way my items would be delivered on time. Apparently that truck that was supposed to take my items was canceled and Imovegreen never informed me – they admitted failing to inform me was their mistake.
The operations manager was horribly rude and condescending («let me break it down for you so you are familiar with the facts») and blamed me for buying my plane tickets («the minimum I would do is call my movers before I purchase an airline ticket.»). He refused to return my calls or speak to me on the phone — he only communicated via email.
He said that a 7 – 10 day delivery date was unrealistic even though he had given my salesperson the assurance that it would be possible and even put it in writing on the contract. Instead, he pointed to the «bill of lading» which is the fine print on a multi page contract that I rushed to sign on the day of moving.
Finally, our nice salesperson was able to secure us some compensation. They promised the amount with a specified time and that date came and went and I never heard back from them despite repeated emails. In frustration, I wrote that I would contact the BBB which caused the operations manager to flip out — he called me ungrateful and refused to give the compensation he promised.
I had to go directly to Bekins to get back the money I was owed. Bekins told me that Imovegreen wanted assurances that I wouldn’t complain before they released the money. I couldn’t believe it. I said I wouldn’t complain to BBB, which I will honor. This company is totally unprofessional.
Another Bekins agent I spoke with said that the right thing to have done was to contact another Bekins agent as soon as Imovegreen realized its truck was canceled. By the way, what kind of a moving company doesn’t have a regular route to the west coast? NY to Cali is a very popular route.
This experience still causes me anxiety. Thankfully, Bekins resolved it for me and got me the money that I was owed. One bright spot was that the movers were actually very efficient and nice. They were great guys… a little messy but overall very speedy and good personality.
The rest of the company… very sleazy. They will say what you want to get your business but in my case, they didn’t deliver on their promises.

In late October I jumped ship from Upper Manhattan and moved to Brooklyn. I had no desire to move everything myself so I decided to use iMoveGREEN to safely cart all of my stuff away. Not only were the team of people I worked with extremely professional, from the coordinator over the phone to the movers themselves, but they were courteous, friendly, and most importantly, moved everything I owned efficiently and carefully!
Everything happened pretty quickly. I called, a contract was written up, and at the chosen time slot the movers showed up, on time! Since I had the equivalent of a studio apartment’s worth of furniture, etc, it went pretty fast, especially since three guys came to move. I commend them for carrying my heavy sleeper couch down five flights of stairs! And not one complaint. These guys were wonderful. It was even faster getting everything into my new place. They arrived in a giant truck, so I’m sure they are able to do larger moves too.
I really appreciate that this company is eco-​friendly, too! All in all I highly recommend using iMoveGREEN the next time you need a mover.
