Never wrote a review before but wanted to share how awesome John and crew are! I went in to repair a necklace and the woman who I was talking to gave me all the details about what would happen with this specific type of chain if I were to repair it. Super helpful info, and John came by as well and took my necklace to be repaired and it took 5 min… at a ridiculously low cost! Prices are extremely fair and staff are super friendly. Will always come here for jewelry repair/​jewelry shopping. Thanks John!

I research things, that’s what I do. I scour the internet for every last detail about any purchase I make or place I go. When it came time to buy an engagement ring I knew it had to be perfect. After hours of reading reviews of jewerly stores around NYC I was feeling overwhelmed and about to call it quits and I happened upon a small post on Reddit raving about John Sampieri and his experience there. I said why not start with this place and see how it goes? I Took the (now) fiancée there to pick out different bands that she might like. John was extremely friendly and helpful along with the rest of his staff. Once we settled on which style my fiancée liked the most. We left and I said we’d probably be back. I came back 3 months later and now it was Diamond time! John helped me look through all the options he had available without pushing any certain type or style. He educated me on the differences and I picked the perfect one. Less than 2 weeks later the ring was ready. I came in to review it and John was his usual friendly self, asking me how i was going to pop the question and such. The ring was Perfect and I was extremely happy with how it turned out. My fiancée gets comments daily on how beautiful and unique her ring is!

I decide to write this because I think people should know about them:
I desperately needed a chain repair and a very close friend of mine recommended John Sampieri to me. I called to let them know of the situation and was glad when they told me to come in right away. They greeted me with the warmest smiles and put me at ease when they told me it was a simple fix. After waiting for about 20 minutes the chain came back fully repair and charged $ 15. (In another store I had brought it to, they were going to charge me $ 110 and I had to come back 1 week later to pickup). The chain was very sentimental to me and I was going on a trip the next day and didn’t want to part with the chain. I was so ecstatic when John was able to repair the chain the same day.
While I was waiting, we chatted for a little bit and he never tried to push jewelry on me… considering I was there for only a $ 15 repair; you would think he would want to make more money by selling jewelry to me. He had a huge selection of jewelry but at the time, I was really there to just fix my chain. John spoke to me like I was his friend already and love chatting about the neighborhood and what it has become. He made me feel at ease and I didn’t have to buy jewelry to get the same attention as everyone else. But as I was waiting for my chain, you can see many of his customers coming in and greeting him like family. It’s the connection he has with his customers that I felt comfortable knowing he will be my Jeweler. People feel comfortable talking to him and knowing he’s a GIA Graduate Gemologist confirms my intuition he truly is knowledgeable about diamonds.
Approximately 8 months after my first encounter with him, on my anniversary, my husband surprised me by telling me we were going to John Sampieri to pick out my gift. I was shocked that he remembered me when I walked in. We ended up picking a beautiful eternity anniversary band which I LOVE LOVE LOVE. There was also a pendant I loved and couldn’t decide between the two so John told me he would put it aside for me for my next gift.
They are such nice people; really down to earth. Not your typical jewelers, but just really, really nice people. You can’t get better than them. If you ever need any repair, advise, consultation or just simply, jewelry, you can definitely rely on them. So far I recommended all my family and friends to John and everyone has great things to say about him.
And to think it all started out with a $ 15 broken chain 1 year ago…

John at J. Sampieri is one of the nicest and most accommodating people I’ve ever dealt with. He worked around my schedule to slot me in for an appointment and was super friendly and helpful. I stuck around after we were finished and ended up chatting with him for a while. Buying jewelry can be really stressful but John made sure I was comfortable and right at home. I couldn’t recommend them more.

Definitely one of the best places to buy jewelry. We’ve been shopping with the Sampieri’s for years. John and his staff are always extremely friendly, extremely knowledgeable and never try to push any sales. I once bought a necklace that my wife decided she didn’t like and they were happy to let me exchange it weeks later without a problem. They have a great selection of rings, earrings, necklaces and bracelets for any occasion from an engagement ring to a Valentine’s day gift. If you are ever in the area you should definitely stop by to take a look!

Where do I start? Our relationship with the Sampieri family began with my grandfather over 50 years ago, then moved on to my father and now I am happy to say me. I called John (never met him) in a panic in the afternoon on Valentines Day (a busy day to say the least) and let him know that I was flying on a sporadic trip to NY to visit my then girlfriend as she was stuck in NY with snow. I was on a mission to propose that day and while I thought he would laugh at me, John did not. He took care of me right away and took time to speak with me and discuss our options. He made sure to provide me and my future fiancé with a ring that was special and exactly what she wanted and we had envisioned for over a year. Simply put, John is the best and the Sampieri family goes above and beyond what you would begin to expect! Thanks John and team for making our valentines and for making us feel special.

These guys are the best. I have purchased my wife’s engagement ring, our wedding bands, and multiple other pieces. John jr. educates and puts you at ease, which is really great when it come to such important investments. Every year we visit our favorite jeweler!

Best jeweler in NYC. John is the diamond expert and Janet is the style guru. Couldn’t be happier with them. We’ll be coming back for our wedding bands!

You can’t find more honest business people then John Sampieri, I couldn’t have found a better place to sell gold jewelery. He had the eye to recognize what had great sentimental value and little cash value and wouldn’t take it. They also do great design work with old pieces
