Jackson Hewitt Tax Service

I was hoping to love Jackson Hewitt and make my life easy. It is my first time filing & I was entrusting them to guide me in the right direction. Nevertheless– I was not! To start: I reached out to the overall Jackson Hewitt since each branch is owned separately about my issues & she basically said tough luck! better luck next time sugar. She advised me to get a hold of the owner. I can’t find the owner, so I’m here hoping to be advised, get some answers & be compensated.
It was not the service that I am unhappy with. My tax reviewer Raimundo was speedy, funny and was handling a lot at once very well as he was the only one in the office. I left happy & would recommend him to anyone.
It was not until I was doing more research that I found out online, through Jackson Hewitt itself, I could have filed my taxes for FREE because of the income tax bracket I am in (under $ 62,000) Never once was it recommended or even, mentioned to me that because I had such easy tax process that was an option to me.
This is not buyers remorse finding out that some other place would have done it for cheaper. I want to pay them for their time and appreciated what Raimundo did for me. However, It is unacceptable that the same company offering free things online takes advantage of someone who doesn’t know what their options are, forwarding them to the highest cost one (even though I can’t afford it– obviously I made a measily amount of money and just graduated college) and saying– tough luck! When I figure out what happened.
When I clicked through the tax preparation via jackson hewitt online it was the same exact thing that happened in office, even asked a few more state questions than I got asked. I would have gladly just inputted my easy w2 for my poor myself and saved upwards of $ 400 dollars.
I need to speak with someone because not only would I like my taxes reviewed, but I feel as though the owner or someone should be mandated to mention to all of their low income customers that if you have a relatively easy process to do it online. Jackson Hewitt, as far as I’m concerned, owes me what I paid for my taxes since I should have done online minus the cost for having Raimundo orginally do my taxes because it wouldn’t be right to jip him off or punish because of something the company is doing wrong.
I am hoping someone will get back to me. Until then I will ensure everyone from now on knows not to go to an office, go somewhere else or do it online.

Yesterday morning (4÷14÷15), I scheduled a 6pm appointment via the Jackson Hewitt website and specified that I would be coming in to have my already filed taxes reviewed. I arrived very early and filled out the required forms. After about 45 minutes of waiting I was told that they could not see me because they did not have the man power to have someone review my taxes and asked me to come in the next day at 6pm when they would have a full staff. Today I arrived to my 6pm appointment 15 minutes early and was told there was one person waiting and then I would be next. After 30 minutes I was told that the office manager stated that they once again didn’t have enough man power to review my already filed taxes and that they were devoting their last few hours to clients filing new tax returns and there was nothing they could do for me. I will never return to this Jackson Hewitt. They need to provide better service and be courteous.

At 10:30am 8 days before taxes are due the place was empty. I sat right down and she got right to work on my taxes. They’re also cheaper than other places I got quotes from. She gave me a big discount from what the company wanted to charge me… The only problem is they only take payment in cash.
