I always have a great experience with Dr. Green. The office staff and dental assistant are friendly and always start on time.

Ok I’m not a review writing type of person but my visit today with Dr. Green was amazing! I’ve been coming here for years & though she’s has never worked with me before she was very professional yet fun & made me feel comfy. She x-​rayed, cleaned, polished & showed me how to correctly floss.

Please be very cautious at this clinic!
I am a medicaid patient. I went to get a checkup. Dr. Green saw me (I think that was her name). She claimed to find 7 cavities in my mouth and the receptionist continued to schedule an appointment for each cavity. I couldn’t believe that I had 7 cavities as I haven’t had any for maybe 15 years. I understand some fillings may have needed to be redone, but 7 sounded excessive. I decided to pay out of pocket and see another dentist for a second opinion before I went back to Dr. Green. The second opinion found 2 cavities that needed work. Everything else looked good. He even put in a scope and showed me where exactly the fillings needed to go.
Just because I have Medicaid, does not mean you need to drill unnecessary holes in my mouth so you can bill for each visit.

One of the worst experiences of my life! Dr. Kirsch was not in the office, I saw a Dr. Green, (I think). I had to wait 3 months for the appt. and then when I get there early, still had to wait an hour.
Nobody in the office listens to a word your saying, the 5 staff members and young doctor hang around reception talking about weddings and patients disparagingly.
This young doctor in her twenties talks down to you and makes you feel that you have really been a burden after your 3 minute cleaning. Basically your disgusting because your teeth had plaque. And whatever you do… DONT BREATH. You might gurgle and saliva/​blood may get on her gloves! I should have looked at Unilocal before.

My ex husband messed up billing, creating a nightmare. The staff was extremely helpful in helping me sort it out. My kids have been seeing Dr. Kirsh for years and they always look forward to a cheerful and pain free experience – with a gift at the end. They also love choosing the flavor of toothpaste. I go there myself and find the office to be really efficient and the actual service to be easy and pain free.

The wait is ridiculous and he is not very nice. Receptionists are nasty and unhappy with their own life — looking to make others miserable. Watch out. Looking for another dentist…

It’s no wonder the dentist won’t look you in the eye, his practice is an embarrassment.
I went in for a simple cleaning and it lasted no longer than 3 minutes. The process was much more painful than it needed to be and water was constantly spraying all over my face. The polishing was a hasty formality, and as soon as he finished he walked away leaving me with polish and saliva all over my face and nothing to wipe it off with. I used my hand and quickly ran to the bathroom where I continued to spit out mouthfuls of blood. I looked in the mirror and sure enough — plenty of visible tartar remained on the back of my teeth.
The lack of care and attention was shameful. How can you call yourself a doctor and have such little regard for your patients? I cannot imagine having any serious work done here. If they’re so careless with their cleanings, imagine how they are with anesthesia?
This practice is a sham meant to suck money from insurance plans that serve the poor. They are not interested in you, your teeth, or your well-​being. What a sad soul Dr. Kirsch must be.

Ive seen multiple dentists across NYC over the years but finally got recommended here a year ago. Every visit has been beyond comfortable. Highly recommended.

Least thorough cleaning I’ve had in my life. More painful than usual so I’m somewhat glad it only lasted about 2 – 3 minutes. He looked at my xrays for about 20 seconds or so after wandering aimlessly through the room on his phone and asking me questions I had already answered on the sheet he was holding, but obviously hadn’t looked at. He was either incompetent or clinically depressed, just randomly poking at my teeth and gums, going through the motions like a child being forced to do his chores.

Dear ladies. If being harassed and objectified on subway platforms and on sidewalks just isn’t enough for you, you should go to this pathetic excuse for a medical office. Everyone else should stay away.
After waiting for an hour, was brought back for x-​rays with a male hygienist/​x-​ray tech. He was asking me a lot about my profession, setting up the x-​rays, putting the vest on me etc. when he asked if I had a boyfriend.
Startled, I replied yes, at which point he grabbed my hand and said, «You’re just so fucking sexy.»
Panic/​confusion took over and I mumbled something inaudible and got my hand back.
He started repeating, «You know you are.» He grabbed my hand a couple more times, asked how old I was, and REMINDED ME HE COULD LOOK AT MY FILE FOR ANY INFORMATION he needed.
Needless to say, I didn’t stay for the cleaning with Dr. Kirsch.
I called the office the same day, though, and spoke with a receptionist. I explained what had happened and was given a brief, vague, and frankly bored sounding apology «that my experience wasn’t good.»
The office manager, Angela, did call me back later that afternoon. She got me on the phone to speak with Dr. Kirsch who sounded HUGELY disingenuous/​perplexed when talking to me about the incident.
He didn’t even seem to know why I was calling until I heard the manager speaking to him hurriedly in the background. In fact, he began the conversation, «So… I guess you were unhappy about something in the office?» They got briefly more emphatic about how sorry they were when it sounded as though I was going to alert the authorities. But, just barely.
These people are disgusting, and their practice deserves to be closed. In the meantime, though, stay away, and tell your friends and family to do the same.

The whole office, from the receptionists to the dentist himself, acted like they were doing you a favor for walking into their office. Snobs is being nice. Weird. Just look at the other Unilocal rated dentists that are rated higher and call their office. You’ll be amazed by the difference when you interact with them.

I first saw this dentist 6 months ago. Needed to get a new dentist because my old one, though great in terms of quality of service and facilities, was across town and I am not going to go hugely out of my way to go to a dentist when there are a million on the UWS. My husband chose Dr Kirsch — based on what I do not know. He doesn’t have a lot of time to research doctors.
When I called to make the appt I told them I was new and did not have any problems, basically just needed a check up and a cleaning. I don’t remember how long I had to wait between the call to schedule and the actual appt. I went in for the appt (I think it was at 3 pm or so — a time I figured would not be so busy as rush hour for example), and was 10 mins early because I figured I had paperwork to fill out. I signed in, no one addressed me, handed me a clipboard, and I sat down. I went back and handed them them completed paperwork before my appt. time, as is customary. I could have written a book in the amount of time I had to wait. The waiting room was PACKED. People were being called in what seemed like no apparent order. I waited. And waited. And waited. And not without going up and reminding them about my appt. time. 1 hour and 45 minutes I waited. I am not a pushover. I just really needed to have my teeth cleaned and not have to schedule another appt. I kept thinking «I have already waited this long… I MUST be next…». Finally one of the receptionists asked me what I was doing there. HELLO??? Waiting forever I guess… She said there was a mix-​up and they thought I was a walk-​in or some such garbage. I made clear what the situation was (new, needed cleaning) when I 1) called and scheduled the appt, 2) when they called to confirm, and 3) when I showed up. They «rushed» me in for x-​rays. And then put me back in the waiting room for another 20 minutes. Dr. Kirsch finally came to get me, did not apologize, made a bunch of excuses and then «got to work». Getting to work includes NO regular «new dentist» questions: do you drink coffee or red wine? Smoke? Have you ever had your teeth whitened? Any concerns… Nothing. To top it all off, it was the worst cleaning I had ever had in my life. I have had my teeth done in Central America… And that was MUCH better. The dentist talked the whole time about his thoughts on my profession and then linked it to something sort of obscure that apparently HE wanted to talk about. All I wanted to do was go home. I had already been there for more than 2 hours and really don’t care what he thinks about anything other than my teeth, to be honest. I went home really angry and dissatisfied.
But getting on Aetna’s roster for a new dentist is not the easiest thing, and I knew that I had already had x-​rays done for this insurance year. I thought I might try to get them from Kirsch’s office and take them to a new DDS, but was worried that a new DDS would not accept them and then I would be stuck with having to pay for them out of pocket — not an option. Our insurance is expensive enough. 6 months of messing around trying to find a good dentist in our area/​insurance passed and I ended up back at Kirsch’s office for my 6 month cleaning.
I only waited 15 mins (9 am appt this time) but the cleaning was still sub-​par, dentist still wanted to offer his opinions on my profession, and he took 2 cell phone calls during my cleaning. I don’t care how important they were (no one was about to give birth or die from what I could tell…) — I get like 20 mins every 6 months to get my teeth cleaned. FOCUS! No tips on what to do to protect my teeth, no samples, nothing. They told me to call back in Dec. to schedule my next appt. They can’t schedule that far in advance. Needless to say, I will not be calling. Neither should you.

Absolutely terrible place! I scheduled my first appointment to do a filling. I didn’t want to do a set of new X-​rays so I sent them over via email before my appointment. The doctor never got them, apparently the system was not working properly but nobody seemed to care. I had my filling done and I’ve been in pain since. I scheduled another visit to correct the procedure, this time with a different doctor. My appointment was at 9.30 am. At 10.15 am I got finally called by a doctor. He told me to sit in a chair and walked away. For the next 15 minutes he would go back and forth between another patient and the three unbelievably bored receptionists totally ignoring me. I was able to see because the whole space is an open area. Finally he showed up and said that he wouldn’t be able to do anything as he didn’t have my X-​rays. I said that I had already sent them twice and if one of the receptionists bothered to inform that they still had trouble with their system (2 months since my first visit) I would have physically brought them to the office instead of sending them via email. But that didn’t matter. The doctor never bothered to introduce himself or even ask what brought me there or any of the typical questions on your first visit. He didn’t seem to care about anything aside from the chewing gum in his mouth… Stay away! The location is great but the quality of service, both stuff and the doctors, terrible.

I had a root canal performed on me by Dr Jacob Kirsch at 86^th Street Dental and it broke after only two months. Lots of pain. I do not recommend this dentist: long wait times and poor service.

For my particularly cheap insurance plan, Jacob Kirsch’s office seemed close enough. I haven’t had any problems with them yet, and I’ve been 3 times. I did have to wait 10 minutes on a day when I arrived at 8am, though.
