Happy New Year!!! I usually do not eat ice cream but I past this stand on the bottom floor of Grand Central and thought, «Why Not»
I got one scoop of peanut butter rocky road. Delicious!!! It wasn’t cheap though. $ 3.50 for that one scoop but it was tasty.

Not impressed. Heard so much about their icecream sandwich so decided to try it out in their grand central location. Their icecream flavors were not very memorable, tasted very light and took me forever to choose a flavor to go I between my cookies. I normally take forever to choose between flavors! I even settled on cookies and cream because I couldn’t find anything better. Once I got the sandwich, it was super hard and not as enjoyable.

Their chocolate & mocha ice creams at Taste of the Terminal were underwhelming, but at least they distributed coupons on each for the chocolate. Nice selection and more convenient than other locations.

I guess it’s a hit and miss at this place. Yes, it is located inside Grand Central Station
(dining area) and there are tons of tourist every single day so I will have to agree customer service must be up to par all the time.
Anyway, about my brief experience. I was greeted in a timely fashion during a Friday lunch hour afternoon. The young lady offered me three sample tastings. I tried chocolate chip cookie, vanilla rum caramel and cookies and cream. Vanilla rum caramel was the winner, however, I didn’t get the usually feeling when I finished one scoop … and that is… I want another scoop! With that said, perhaps Jacques Torres should stick to hot chocolate drinks and chocolate chip cookies only. OR MAYBE… this location has the bad batch all the time since tourist can tell one from the other. I am willing to visit the factory in Brooklyn and compare.

This place is heaven on earth!!! The chocolate chip cookies are amazing! Best ever!!! I feel so happy when I go to this place haha. They have free chocolate samples and all the chocolate you could want. The chocolate is amazing. Its literally so smooth and perfect. This is my go to now! Great stop to pick up a gift. Price may be a little steep, but your getting something amazing!!! The employees are so sweet too. Must try!

I was searching for Ciao Bella (it’s still on the restaurant map; they should probably remove it) and I learned that it had been replaced by Jacques Torres. I’ve heard good things about him, so I decided to try their ice cream. Big mistake
I got a scoop of the White Chocolate Raspberry flavor. I saw that it was $ 3.50 for a scoop ($ 3.81 with tax). Kinda steep, but I love ice cream, so I splurged. It tasted nothing like white chocolate OR raspberry. It tasted like a base for a cheesecake ice cream. It had a weird tang to it but no real flavor I was so annoyed. For $ 3.50, I could’ve bought an entire pint of Haagen Dazs or Talenti. Never again.

They keep cookies in a warming oven — sounds like a brilliant idea until you bite into one and realize your cookie has been drying out in that oven for way too many hours. It seemed like good ingredients in my dark chocolate walnut cookie ($ 3) but with the first bite it was a crumbly dry mess. The staff here just doesn’t care and even seemed hostile to the customer ahead of me today. I won’t the mistake of stopping in again.

I recently visited the city and, having an appreciation for sweets and a sweet tooth to match, made a point of spending an entire day checking out some of the infamous bakeries and chocolatiers I’d read about. Enter Jacques Torres. While I wanted to sample everything, I had just had an incredibly rich hot chocolate at L.A. Burdick, so I stuck with a cookie and a box of chocolates. From reading online, I knew to request a warm cookie. The associate did not greet me, and when I asked for a warm cookie she rolled her eyes and asked another associate to grab one. I began inquiring about the different chocolates behind the glass, and almost every time she began her vague answers with a sigh. According to her, half of them sounded the same. I had almost filled a box but had a few left to pick, and as I always like to do I asked if there were any that she thought were amazing that I had not yet picked. Instead of genuinely answering, she began to recite a rehearsed list of ‘best-​sellers.’ As I was finishing up, a gentleman came in with a vase of what must have been 2 dozen roses and a few balloons (clearly there was something special in store for a lucky lady) and he excitedly mentioned that he had heard this place had great chocolate and he finally found the occasion to stop by and inquired about my personal favorites. I couldn’t help but smile for the guy and agree I had heard they were really good, but that was also my first time and perhaps the staff could better help him fill a box. The other associate rolled her eyes and said ‘You just want us to fill up a box with an assortment?’ in a way that suggested she would take the opportunity to get rid of the slow sellers. What a buzz kill.
On to the actual chocolate! The cookie was chocked full of chocolate and crisp and melty… but also SUPER greasy. The grease completely soaked through the baggie it was put in so that it was transparent, and coated my hands. The grease overtook the flavor of the cookie, so it was grease and chocolate in my mouth. I didn’t make it halfway through the cookie before giving up and throwing it out. The chocolates were just shameful. I hated the texture inside, most had a gummy quality. The bottoms/​sides of many had bloomed or looked dusty, suggesting poor storage and/​or old goods. Most importantly, the chocolate flavor on almost all of them just wasn’t there. I literally tasted nothing until swallowing, at which point I got a cheap grocery aisle holiday candy taste or an aftertaste of whatever flavoring it was supposed to have, that cheap as well.
I’m completely baffled by all of the rave reviews. There are simply too many other places I went to that day that were crafted well and with quality ingredients, and where associates seemed knowledgeable and proud of the product. Save your money for a much more enjoyable experience.

I’ve been here twice to buy gifts and each time the service was great. They’re kind and cordial and very helpful. They take their time with each person checking out, and make eye contact, never making one feel rushed. They were great with gift wrapping something I had purchased and even went in back and cut me some ribbon. This place was great and I will definitely be back.
Though I’ve had neither, word on the street is that their hot chocolate and cookies are fantastic.

Rude staff, mediocre quality, nothing to write home about. If you wanna be treated with utter lack of manners by rude servers who don’t have the decency to explain what products they are offering because they are too neurotic and if your idea of hot chocolate is a watered-​down blend of milk and cocoa with big globules of floating fat in a paper cup, that this place is for you. But if you have been exposed to the real deal and know the thickness, the darkness and the velvety texture of a proper hot chocolate, then you’d stay away from this place. You might be better off using an automated vendor machine.

I love JT Chocolate — 5 stars. Two stars for service and selection at this location. While I was excited to see a new location but I have to agree that service stinks at this location. Also, it is not clear how customers should line up. Sadly I need to trek down to Hudson or back to Brooklyn. soooo this convenient-​to-​work location won’t result in more sales:(

The staff were rude and unprofessional. They put up the happy hour sign and later charged me for two and when i asked they simply put down the sign and made me wait for over 20 minutes. I did not even get my drinks in those 20 minutes. The ignored me and made me wait and talked to each other saying i was throwing a tantrum that is when i just asked for my money back.

Psst the French is coming! The French is coming with their amazing chocolate. After one bite of Jacques Chocolates I discovered that there is life after visiting Godiva, Lindt and Max Brenner. Jaques Torres establishment is a ‘must go ASAP’ place if you desire the finer things in life.
So what to buy? Well this is a tough one, because everything is wonderful from their hot chocolate, cookies, candies and more, so it is not fair to pin point just one area. What I will point out is their excellent customer service, because I must admit it is really needed, because this place is addictive. Why? When you take a deep inhale all you can smell is real chocolate…
Beware: if you are on a diet and you entered this store, you will consider that day a cheat day.
Going back to my great customer experience, Shaqueena have delivered just that, because I am 39 years of age and I transformed like a big kid in this establishment. She explained the store mission and what the place have to offer. In addition, she wanted me to make sure I was happy with my selection, because I was too darn excited. I think this place is a hidden drug, because I was drooling once I saw the the cookies. Call me Cookie Monster, because I want cookies! She even told me about another location I should try, 66 Water Street (Dumbo) where her team will show me around the factory! Ohhhhh man, Willie Wakka Factory in NYC!!! Oh snap, I will be visiting this location tomorrow after work. I am so excited.
Bottom Line:
Visit this location and you will soon see why I love this place.
