Jamaica- Van Wyck Subway Station

Cant really complain too much

This stop needs an upgrade. It’s not clean at all. Good thing is you get wifi service.

This is a proper Queens subway station with all the attendant stereotypical colourful characters and surroundings that may exist in your imagination
Located a convenient couple of blocks from the Clarion Hotel on Jamaica Ave, it serves as my E line link to Manhattan, taking roughly 40 minutes to the tourist areas
The E line trains are fairly frequent with good electronic signage to inform you how many stops til your station
The station is a little sketchy, truth be told but there’s a sitting area under CCTV surveillance for out of hours travel
The exit I use to get to my hotel always has colourful characters who have proven more entertaining than a danger on my 3 stays thus far
This is a good (safe) view of another side of the Big Apple and perhaps one could argue, a view closer to its core

This Subway is ok… the stop to go to jamaica hospital… And the Station is very clean …
