JAMBOX Entertainment Recording Studios

The staff (especially Lee and Cathy) are incredibly kind, giving people who give the best of themselves! They were professional, respectful of my time, and made me feel very comfortable. I had a great experience with Jambox Studios tonight! It will not be the last, and I highly recommend to all who are looking for a great affordable experience recording music to come to Jambox!

My friends got me a 90-​minute recording session for my 30^th birthday, and as someone who loves karaōke, it was the perfect gift! My friends and I each sang individually for Lee Evans, and he helped us figure out who should sing which part of the song. Then we each got to sing in the recording room, which was so much fun! Once we were done, Lee mixed the tracks together for our amazing single! Everyone was super sweet, non-​judgemental, and we even got a bottle of wine! I will definitely be back!

I agree with «the Real D», 100%, who said «to be avoided at all cost for classical music recording of any kind». I am completely mortified and can’t believe that they are a real «business». DEFINITELY not for classical music– the engineer insisted I use their keyboard (not the barely in tune upright w no music rack); the keyboard’s stand was literally two feel ABOVE the keyboard (I did actually consider it but as I was using music, thought it was ridiculous that there was a stand a foot above my head); they weren’t ready until 30 min (!) AFTER our technical start time, for a 60 min session (!!!), as the tech was on the phone w someone trying to figure out the issue; the mic setup (which cast a ridiculous shadow over the keys in the first place, in the ill-​lit «studio», where ppl clearly don’t use actual MUSIC) kept falling onto the keyboard… the list goes on. I am embarrassed for this place.
The piano (acoustic upright) barely works. Completely inconsistent. Truly not for piano recording/​accompanying. Which reminds me that the engineer also insisted I play «my part separately» (FOR CLASSICAL MUSIC?! Am I a karaōke machine!?)
On the plus, they were very nice. (?) If it were me, I’d demand a total refund of time and money. Clearly unreliable if needing to make a «professional» recording for anything important. They thought nothing of losing the 30 min and said «don’t worry– we can just go over», as though all three of us didn’t have to leave for our next appointments at the hour. Truly unbelievable.
I would give this place no stars if possible. I am still in disbelief. Poor person whose recording this was– I hope everything fared well!

JAMBOX is a great studio! Rather than having one set price per hour, the more hours you book, the lower you pay per hour! They also have three different studios, depending on your budget and your project, that you can use.
They offer services for everyone from the complete novice, to the biggest pop star, all with a friendly smile, a comfortable (think living room) environment, and award winning engineers and producers. The Gift of Song packages are great gifts for all ages and talent levels, and they do custom production too.
I highly suggest a visit at JAMBOX… It’s a great family to be a part of.

To be avoided at all cost for Classical Music recording of any kind. Absolutely crummy, out of tune upright piano. Clueless engineer. Not professional AT ALL. I was absolutely amazed at how unprofessional they are. I would suggest recording using your Ipod before going to this studio.
