No way this is closed cause I just ordered from them today. They gave me regular tuna instead of spicy tuna which is a huge diff. Plain tuna tastes horrible and fishy. I also asked the delivery man if he had change before I came downstairs and he said yes and when I handed him my 20 he pretended to look for cash and I was forced to give him a $ 7 dollar tip for a $ 13 meal.

I’m not a fan of sushi but I am a huge fan of jin’s! I come here all the time for the happy hour specials with coworkers and friends. Their happy hour special is beyond worth it with appetizers, salads, and rolls going for $ 3.50 per. When I’m not dining in, I’m ordering their lunch specials during my lunch break. Both experiences have been worthy of 5 stars! I know they’re closed for good(which really sucks!!!) so I regret not leaving a review sooner. If they ever decide to open up again, I’m definitely coming back!

I called in earlier to place a lunch order. The woman who answered the phone immediately stopped me and said, «Sorry, we are closed. The restaurant is closed. Our last day was yesterday. Sorry.» What! I have never eaten here, and was trying to order based on a recommendation. Oh well :( I hope management/owners have moved on to bigger and better things!

Just came here out of the blue with a friend and it is absolutely delicious. I had veg. Fried rice and it was the best tasting rice I’ve ever had. It was so flavorful I didn’t want it to end. Kani salad was also Amazing. My friend had a bento box and she loved it. The waiter was kinda a jerk had a nasty attitude and you can tell he didn’t wanna be bothered. But I wasn’t eating him! so I’m still giving it 4 stars

I met up with a friend in a Monday for dinner, and decided to check out the restaurant across the street for their happy hour menu. Unfortunately, we didn’t know it was closed on Monday until we got to the restaurant, but good thing Jin had the same happy hour deal going on and was right across the street. We were saved from a wasted trip! Or so we thought… The happy hour menu at Jin is much smaller than we anticipated. There is very little variety and overall less options for us to choose from. The rolls we ordered came and they had too much rice going on. Furthermore, the rice was kinda mushed up, not individual grains the way good sushi rice is supposed to be. It didn’t taste bad, but there are definitely better options for your money.

I remember coming here with a group of friends a few years ago after craving sushi for the longest, and we didn’t feel like traveling all the way to Sake for a sushi buffet. So we walked around and we stumbled upon this place. I really liked the layout. Their doors and windows were open and the lights were dimmed to create a relaxing and soothing ambiance. We also happen to come at the right time because until 7pm, it’s happy hour on most days(if not everyday). $ 3.50 for sushi rolls isn’t bad. There’s also a variety of different soups and salads that you can choose from. After 7, everything is dinner priced and there’s a bar from which you can order drinks from. Would I return? Definitely.

Loved this place! Food was excellent and service was super fast. Our waiters were very friendly. Location is very convenient — close to the F and J subway stops. Also very reasonably priced :)

I really like this place and went here a lot for happy hour. It has a great atmosphere and food. I stopped coming here when they automatically included tip on a large check, when it was just two people. I for mad so I stopped for about a year. I am back now tonight and hopefully it is good like I remember.

Ordered sushi take-out which was alright. Most rolls fell apart and tasted a bit stale/old. What I do love though is how creative the chefs are and put a twist on each roll. Like adding chicken to the shrimp tempura roll or adding inari to the futomaki. Overall though, it wasn’t too fresh but filled my sushi needs.

This is my go to spot for sushi. I bring all my friends and staff members to eat here and they definitely enjoy eating here as well. I personally have to say I love and crave for their kani salad and I must order it every time. The kani salad is so good that sometimes I would want to have 2 orders of it. I don’t usually eat shumai but they are pretty tasty here. Their yellowtail jalapeño is delicious too, just the perfect combination with the ponzu sauce. As for sushi rolls, I always order the spicy crunch crab, salmon avocado and white tuna avocado with less rice. The spicy crunch crab is basically like the kani salad but without the masago and cucumber. Jins spicy mayo sauce is quite different from all the sushi places I’ve tried. There’s definitely something special about their spicy mayo and it makes you want to come back for more.

Came here on a Saturday night after work around 6:30pm and were seated right away with no wait. It was pretty full with only a few tables empty. We happened to catch happy hour where everything on the menu was $ 3.50(only certain items were on the happy hour menu including appetizers, sushi rolls, beer and salads). We ordered the Kani salad and it was delicious. The spicy mayo sauce was spot on and slightly spicy, with a generous amount of crab meat and cucumber. The pork gyozas came visibly a little too oily, where I had to dab it on my napkin before eating it, but the taste was okay. As for sushi we got the spicy salmon, spicy tuna, California and eel cucumber. They all had a decent amount of filling inside nicely balanced with a thin layer of rice. I don’t think you can really go wrong with sushi, it all tasted pretty good with wasabi soy sauce so no complaints there. Drinks wise I only ordered a Hoegaarden which was draft. Came with a slice of orange in a decent size glass, I love the taste of Hoegaarden so for $ 3.50 during happy hour it was a plus to the whole meal. The service was fast and easy. It wasn’t exceptional, but it was enough. They were exactly the most enthusiastic staff in the world but I came here to eat and I wasn’t expecting much anyway. There wasn’t a «Hi, welcome» when we came, we were just greeted with a «how many people?» And when we left there was no standard«thank you» from anyone. We just asked for the bill, paid and left. Honestly the lack of customer service didn’t bother me at all because the waitress came quickly to take our order and the food came quickly too. The lighting here was a sort of dim romantic but slightly too bright. After 7pm they dim the lights even more and bring candles to every table. I liked the music and the whole atmosphere, it was enjoyable for a regular meal. All in all everything was good enough to keep coming back.

It was my first visit and I would go again. I had the spicy tuna box and it was tasty and filling. The plumb wine was the highlight of the night, a must try. I didn’t give it more stars because the service felt a little cold and not as inviting as I would have liked.

I came here for the Happy Hour special the other night. Ended up ordering their Kani Salad, Eel Cucumber Roll, Salmon Avocado Roll, and Alaska Roll. Overall, it was a good. For $ 3.50 a dish, it was pretty fantastic because it’s cheaper than the majority of places I know. It goes without saying you are not getting extremely great quality, but you’re paying for what you get. Of the items I ordered, I’d highly recommend the Kani salad. It wasn’t too heavy on the mayo and I liked that they added a tiny hint of spice, which was refreshing. The servers were nice when we saw them, but the service was on the slow side. Not a big deal, but it did take us 10 minutes to get the waiter’s attention to get the bill.

OVERPRICEDANDLOWQUALITYFOOD I am not pleased at all with the sushi and how they rip off customers. I am not expecting high quality food here but I do expect honesty. I ordered the volcano roll and the description of the volcano roll on the menu states that it has Crab, white tuna, avocado, fish egg, fried with spicy sauce. Check out my picture that I took of the volcano roll. As you can see there is a skinny piece of imitation crab meat — it even has that fake pink coloring on the edges– that’s how I know it is fake crab meat and it is from one of those imitation kani crab sticks. They smeared some avocado in there and then they rolled it up and deep fried it. They added fish eggs and hot and sweet sauce. THEREWERENOWHITETUNAANDCRAB. Do not write on the menu that there is crab, white tuna when there isn’t. What they gave me was a cheap deep fried California roll. They charged me about $ 15 including tax. This roll is skinny and for the size it should be on the happy hour menu. I would not come back here. This is a terrible establishment that lies to their customers. I ate here before and the volcano roll was not like this.

The happy hour specials(which end at 7pm) were what really did me in. Food in general at Jin Sushi is good, but it doesn’t wow. We ordered a ton of rolls from the happy hour menu, plus some wings, and their salad appetizer. All of these items were good. My guests also enjoyed some vegetable fried rice that they insisted was a must order item. Will definitely return in the future to enjoy some more of their happy hour specials.

I came here Friday evening for a friend’s birthday. The original plan was to meet at Zest across the street, but there was some mis-communication with the restaurant(and an extremely long wait), and so we moved the party across the street to Jin. The restaurant has a nice ambiance. However, the food is nothing anything special. I ordered the super deluxe sashimi dinner for $ 25 and a lychee sake-tini for $ 7. I am generally not a soju or a sake fan, so I was quite disappointed when the waitress had informed me that it wasn’t an open bar. The sake-tini tasted like it came out of a juice box, and the sashimi was at best, decent. I also want to point-out that on several occasions throughout the evening the service was very slow. The restaurant was not particularly crowded, and there were moments where our table was just waiting to the point where we had to look around to find our waiter(e.g. to start ordering, to get the dessert menu, to get the bill). I may not come back for dinner, but apparently the Happy Hour received raving reviews from other Unilocalers, so I hope to try it in the near future.

$ 3.50 Happy Hour on Food & Drinks M-F 3:30p-7p Sa-Su 12:30p-7p Décor: 4⁄5 –sushi bar in the center with the bar in the back –slightly more spacious dining area than Umi Sushi and much larger than Maguro Sushi Service: 3⁄5 –decent and average, took a while to get our waters Food: 3⁄5 –I came here for their $ 3.50 Happy Hour: –The seaweed salad was pretty good and I was shocked at how generous the portion was for $ 3.50 –the eel avocado roll on the other hand was below average bc there was too much rice(4 layers thick) and the sushi chef skimped on the eel and avocado. –same goes for the spicy crab, too much rice. I couldn’t taste any crab, only the spicy mayo sauce and rice. –As for the prices, 3 rolls @ $ 3.50 each is $ 10.5. Not bad, slightly cheaper than most places that offer any 3 rolls though selection is limited.
