Stopped in this weekend for a houseplant for my new apartment. The woman working there(Judy?) was amazingly helpful! I described what I was looking for, the light/environment, and my price range and she picked the perfect plant. She made sure I know who to care for it before I took it home as well. Great service!

A very dishonest store owner. Not one single florist or nursery had impatiens because of the well known blight. The NYTimes wrote about it in April, probably the one day I did not read it. So, I spent $ 300 for 2 flats of impatiens and soil and now they are all infected. She had to know, everyone else did. Called several times without a return. All nurseries are refunding their customers, except this thief. Stay far away.

Tip: Nothing brightens up a little NYC apartment like a few well cared for houseplants. After months of procrastination I FINALLY got around to repotting my 2 stalwarts(a croton and some kind of laurel) and decided to pick up a couple new ones. I was happy to find that this local spot has a large selection of houseplants, flowers, pots, and soil. I found a couple healthy-looking new plants for my apartment, as well as a small-ish bag of potting soil. Speaking of which, it was nice to see many options for potting soil — no one wants to lug home an economy size behemoth for 4 little houseplants. The plants and soil came to $ 40 with tax. The adorable housecat curled up in a cat bed right next to the register(and who seemed to appreciate the chin-scratching I gave it) was a welcome addition. Glad to have found my go-to plant shop!
