I miss this place, awesome, sexy spot to grab drinks. The decoration is on point for the name of the place, I like how they have the kamasutra book sex Positions on the walls! Also the food is delicious

Its real funny ’cause the first generation of Indians that were actually born in India say that their own kith and kin have no idea about desi Rhythms and dances. They make their own blend of mostly American Rap combined with Bollywood. All their training comes from Bollywood movies and not from the actual soul of Indian music.

Used to like this place. Went here for bollywood night after 6 months and seems like the DJ has the same CD that he has been playing forever. Song requests are not entertained. Crowd is below average. Drinks are overpriced. $ 20 cover if not on the guest list. Would not recommend this place.

Avoid the money collecting lady. She is arrogant, arrogant, arrogant! And for the entry fee they charge you can get 10x the fun at any other place.

Dingy looking place and very poor service. Went there for a birthday party. Even though we had a table reserved they made all of us wait for good 20 minutes to confirm the reservation and they also made some of the people in our group pay the $ 20 cover who came in late. They didn’t serve all the drinks that was part of the original deal. Music was not great either, they were playing such old bollywood songs. DJ was not great. And even though we had a private place, they kept letting odd people come in our section. one in particular was an old guy who claimed to be the onwer of the place next door, steak house. He was such a creep and offended us so much. In all had the worst experience ever, never going back!

My girlfriend and I reluctanly gave this is a shot after weeks of urging from a friend. We went there last night to meet a couple of friends from out of town who are also into Bollywood music. We paid the $ 20 cover each, and within 30 seconds walked out because my friends would not be able to join us. Upon requesting a refund, they would not return the cover even though we didn’t stay more than 30 seconds. There was a mixed aged crowd ranging from 50 year old uncles/aunties to some early 20s all dressed in Indian attire i.e. lenga’s/salvar kameez. We felt out of place. We may have had a good experience if we stayed, but the energy of the money collector woman at the front door was challenging to ignore. There are other Bollywood parties in the city. I would strongly recommend them before this one. If I have older uncle/aunty, I consider going here.

Bollywood party up in here! On top of an Indian restaurant. $ 10 cover before 11pm. Everyone here knows how to dance like a Bollywood star! Screw in the light bulb(left hand) and pet the dog(right hand)

I purchased the Unilocal deal, and they refused to honor it. When I attempted to explain to the manager how the deal worked while pointing out the fine print, he walked away from me and went in the back. This is probably the most unprofessional behavior I’ve ever encountered in New York. Shame on you Kamasutra!

The food was very tasting, the ambience was pleasant. The service was great. I felt a bit out of place as the patrons seem all Indians. I was humiliated for the restaurant when the asked me to pay the $ 10.00 free I had purchased to Unilocal for an appetizer and two wines, So when the bill came the host insisted that the payment goes to them, He was baffled. I refussed to pay, Im shocked they are not informed on how to use promotions, well he tells me to simple pay accordingly as I see appropriate. So I left the pretty waitress $ 20.00 tip as she was a bit embarressed of the ordeal. The bread? a must have with spicy shrimps. After our enounter, im sure someone has enough sense to educate themselfves as to how to use these Unilocal discounts.

Three stars only for the music. The place was packed with sweaty people and the drinks are overly expensive. There was a cover charge of $ 20 a person which this place did not deserve. Bollywood music is all they got

Am giving 3 stars to this place only because my friend Bhav Aman is the DJ here. All my desi friends… if you want a true Desi DJ look no further. Bhav is from Delhi and spins really well. He mixes the Top 40 bollywood hits, suddenly goes Retro and comes back really well. He also mixes bolly hits with Top 40US… Just when you are few drinks down, Bhav manages to excite you with Chiknee chameli, Subah hone na dey, Bidi jalialey, munni badnaam and a li’l bit of Kolaveri dee ;-) … As for the bar; the bar tenders are horrible! You’d miss a lot of good songs, waiting at the bar for 1 drink! And then, conveniently, they even charge you an 18% gratuity! 18% for horrible service is a bit too much, but Bhav’s spinning leaves you satisfied and exhausted at the end of the night. Go here if you really want to enjoy some good desi music!

Went to this lounge for a Valentines event. The event was held upstairs, really small space, im surprised all of us and the fashion show and little vendors all fit! there was a small bar in the corner. it was a really old building and the inside was equally dated. the décor felt like you were in a realy cheesy themed retaurant circa 1992. the bar charged like 15 for cocktails! im ok with spending that much on a nicer place or a really good specialty cocktail, but for them to charge that considering the ambience? and for a regular drink like whiskey and ginger? i dont think so! ridiculous. there was a dj too(how did he fit all his equipment in that tiny space?) the crowd was a bit off as well. really old and cheesy crowd. i think we all can see the theme of this place… cheeseeeeballlsss… from the 90’s. we left after an hour and went to a different bar.

This place is better than most places which have bollywood nights. The ambiance is great, usually has no entry fee if u add urself to the guest list and the music was good. The crowd there was great too. The only reason I would not give a 5star is because the DJ was not able to transition between tracks wells.

I went here to see my sister’s belly dance show last Thursday night. This lounge is located upstairs from the Bombay Palace. The décor is breathtaking and sexy. The food on the menu is Indian. I shared appetizers which were reasonably priced for that area. The food was delicious. I enjoyed the fried tilapia sticks and french fries. Also, the drinks were very good. I had a berry cosmopolitan that was extremely good. I highly recommend this lounge for a private party or chill with a group of friends. The bar downstairs has a happy hour so you save a few bucks if you wanna have a drink around Rockefeller Center.

I was going to meet my girlfriend on set of an indie film and it ended up to be the VIP section @ K Lounge. The winding carpeted staircase, hugged by a mirrored wall, led to the lounge area. With the lighting and décor inspired by the art of the Karma Sutra, the space made for a very mature and intimate way to enjoy the night out. After the film wrapped we hung around for drinks and got to know a few of the regulars. Turns out it’s a great place to network on a Monday night.

eccccch! came here for a bday party, and thought that the«mandatory $ 3 coat check» was a joke. what venue has that??? we got 2 shots of «bottom shelf» tequila, and got charged $ 10/shot. i wonder what top shelf would have been like! interior was ok, a little cheezy, i felt like i was 13 and at a bat mitzvah hall. DJ played the worst sugar pop remixes i have ever heard. oh em gee. so we peaced out a little early.

At night the restaurant section in the first floor is closed off. The lounge is upstairs on the second. But before you go in, there’s a nice little seating area. I went here earlier tonight for a friend’s birthday. Very nice place for such modest hospitality. It’s good when you can feel comfortable in asking the door man a simple question. Nice dude. Moderate size Dance floor. Not sure if I saw a DJ, but the music was good and usual(mainstream hip-hop, radio hits). There’s a beautiful diorama backdrop in the theme of India(I believe). They also had pretty good lighting on the dance floor for such a small place.
