Nadine Ramos, Founder and CEO of LASIO, Inc, an international beauty conglomerate, and author of e-​book Million Dollar Keratin: How I Made Over a Million Dollars in One Year and How You Can do it Too!

In 2000, this young Latin woman from Alphabet City, NY embarked on the journey to establish a Brazilian Keratin Straightening company with one goal in mind, have salons all over the world using her product and women everywhere experiencing fabulous hair. On the discovery of this little known substance she challenged herself to recreate a salon friendly formula within US beauty regulations.

With limited funding, this self-​made millionaire manifested her business from a dream into what is projected to be the next transcendent beauty empire. Turning a mobile service business into what is now the flagship salon, Ramos astonished even herself when she grossed over two million dollars in her first year of business.

This is my first time visiting Keratin Lounge after a friend recommended this place. I had wonderful experience, Shefvon was amazing and was really helpful and answered my questions and concerns I had. The whole team was really nice and friendly. I will be back in June for a touch up again. I recommend anyone to go to her if you are doing this for the first time.

Carina is a rock star! A stylist at another salon BUTCHERED my hair a few months ago, and Carina was able to go in a few weeks before my wedding and save the day. She started by giving me a very careful and thorough Keratin treatment. Then, about a week later after my hair settled down, she was able to integrate almost all of the bad, choppy layers into a sleek, natural look while saving the overall length of my hair. She finished off the amazing job she did with the sexiest, most super model-​est blowout I have received.

I have been coming here for over a year and getting the standard, one-​day treatment, plus haircut. Lasio products are pretty decent. Not the best I’ve ever used, but the Keratin treatment I used to have done is impossible to find here in NYC. So, Lasio became my second choice. My stylist, Shefvon, is a wonderful woman who is always smiling, knows everything possible about hair, and really cares. She always gives me a fantastic haircut, which gets compliments all the time. After coming here so many times, my hair has never looked or felt better!
The only reason why this is not a 5-​star review is the pricing. I understand that «you get what you pay for,» etc. My issue is with how they changed up a really good deal they had going on. I used to get my hair cut for free with the purchase of a Keratin treatment (my treatment was about $ 250, not including tip) I understand that they were probably losing money on this deal, but it really was a GREAT bargain for a good product and excellent service. That being said, the do send out 10% off coupons every once in a while, which help a little bit. I’m usually here every 3 – 4 months, so it’s not like you’re breaking the bank for a monthly color session or anything like that. I just miss the little perk I had when I first started coming in!
But, on the whole, a good experience and my hair looks amazing.

Please save your money and try keratin else where. Although the staff that works at the salon is super nice, the end result and management are a nightmare. I came in to get a keratin treatment. They told me I could not do highlights after two weeks of the treatment minimum. So I asked if they could do them for me. Big mistake!!! At first the stylist was annoyed that she had to do the highlights since it would be an extra 30 min. It wasn’t full head just the crown, but she had an attitude… Then I got a new stylist who was really sweet. Too bad my highlights looked like tiger stripes. Ugh! Then they processed the keratin treatment for color treated hair. I followed the shampoo instructions and even spent an extra $ 50.00 on the products to maintain the keratin. Once I washed my hair my hair was disgustingly oily. Two weeks out my hair is still oily. It looks horrible.
I had to go to another salon to get the color fixed which killed the entire keratin process. I have been trying for two weeks now to get a hold of someone to offer compensation or refund but no one has helped me! I spent over $ 400.00 and nothing!!! Save your money!

I’m on month 4 after getting the Tropical Keratin and it’s just now starting to grow out. I had a great experience here and used the $ 199 Unilocal new customer special. I did a lot of research and decided upon Lasio products as the most safe. This review is unsolicited and I had a great experience here with Vivian. I’ll be going back.

I already recommended Keratin Lounge to all my friends and family. I will be going on vacation in a humid tropical climate, which led me to book a Tropic Keratin Treatment with Vivian. She was very knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable right away. My hair is very thin and dyed blonde so the humidity just makes it dried out and unpleasant. Keratin has made it very manageable and I get complimented everywhere I go about how silky and shiny my hair is. And I just tell them «Vivian is my secret weapon at Keratin Lounge»!! Because of this treatment, it has cut down my «getting ready» time in half since my hair is good to go! Will update with photo from the trip!

Excellent customer service. Mario my stylist is excellent with my hair texture which is very curly, frizzy, and long. He did an amazing job. A month later and my hair is frizz free and shiny even in tropical weather. Would definitely go again.

All I ever wanted was to have manageable hair, and Vivian made that happen. I had the color keratin treatment done on my hair and I swear I am never turning back. This treatment has totally changed my life. After a shower I let my hair dry and it looks like I just got a blow out. Totally worth it and Vivian knows exactly what she is talking about. Every word she said to me was absolutely true, no exaggeration. She told me exactly what my hair would look like «no frizz, straight with light waves». Vivian if you read this, I love you!

Just an update. It’s now about 6 weeks since I had the treatment done and my hair has about 40% less curl all over, worse in the underpart in the back. It’s absolutely not only the new growth. It takes forever to blow out and reverts to totally curly and frizzy in humidity regardless of how many times I go over it with the blower. They claim that this is supposed to last 3 or 4 months but it’s definitely not the case. Even accounting for the crappy job that was done in the back of my head, (that they did not want to fix,) the other parts of my hair have also reverted back. This has absolutely never happened before with the other keratins I’ve had done elsewhere. Could they have done a lousy job because I had a groupon?

This was the first time I’ve ever had a keratin treatment done and I’m very impressed. The salon was very nice. The staff was friendly making it a pleasant experience. My stylist did a great job with my hair and informed me on how to make the treatment last as long as possible. I will definitely be coming back.

I booked a Tropic Keratin Treatment here because I wanted to stop the cycle of getting bad to decent Keratin treatments off lifebooker. I did my research and found this place and decided to give a try. I am pretty happy with the results of the treatment… it’s only been a few weeks but I see a definite decrease in frizz and my hair does not seem lifeless like it has from other treatments. My stylist was a sweetheart and took her time with the process.
My only gripe is that she did burn my head with the flattening iron when she was doing the very bottom at the back of my neck. It was the first area she did and it felt like it was burning but I kinda just sucked it up and thought it was really hot… but no… she burned me… 2 straight scabs formed on my scalp.
If it feels like shes burning you its because she is… Let her know.

I just got my first keratin treatment at this salon. So far, I’m very pleased with the process. Naomi was my stylist and definitely would go back with her.
I’m giving 4 stars, since I need to see the results after a couple of washes.

Keratin Lounge has the best hair straightener I’ve ever tried – by far! Before finding them, my hair was chronically frizzy, dull, and coarse. Other straighteners only made it slightly better for a few weeks. I had to pull it back & tie it up all summer long. Now, people stop me all the time to tell me how great my hair looks – all because of Lasio – which smooths & shrinks my hair follicles!
The treatment lasts 3 – 4 mths, and, unlike other straighteners I’ve tried, Lasio’s doesn’t damage my hair or leach color out of it – and my hair’s red.
Lasio is so good that my colorist clandestinely recommends Keratin Lounge to her other clients – instead of the straightening at her salon.
Plus, the attentive staff makes for a lovely experience. If you want the best, book with Jose!

The pink color makes me a bit nervous when doing very light blood /​pale hair.
For Latin hair it’s awesome. PREP the hair is «very important.

Just had 4th visit to get tropic/​tropical (?) keratin treatment. I have had Brazilian straightened at 3 other places — whatever I could find on groupon or gilt that had good reviews. My fine but plentiful hair always ended up stick straight plastered to head, an improvement from the frizzy curly high maintenance mess I had before but not ideal.
While complaining one day to my beloved hair stylist she mentioned a client that has similar hair and just got the lasio tropic (al). I finally bit the expensive bullet and went to Lasio.
Definitely the best results, hair is straight with some body, 3 minutes of hair drying when I wash it and my bangs look great not like crazy straw sprouting straight from head.

Would give 0 stars if I could. The manager Anthony has horrific customer service skills and the product itself just doesn’t work!!!
After only 1 month my hair went back to this! $ 300 down the drain and they do not stand by their work or product. Save yourself money and go to a real salon. Go to a Japanese salon call & Hair Lounge– they are amazing– read their reviews!
