Kids learn how to film and edit a movie, a stop-​motion animation, or edit existing photos or footage. We teach iMovie, Final Cut Pro and Photoshop. Kids get a DVD or internet ready clip of their work at the end of the class.

In small groups or individual lessons, kids learn valuable skills.

History

Established in 2009.

The instructors at kids-​make-​movies come from video production and education backgrounds. In early 2009 we realized how perfect this combination would work in working with kids, teaching them how to make their own movies. We now teach at NYC schools, give private lessons to individual kids and small groups and have summer workshops.

Meet the Business Owner

Elke S.

Business Owner

Elke has an M.A. in Liberal Studies (NYU) and worked with NYU’s Acting for Television classes. She is a tutor at NY Public Library’s Center for Reading and Writing and teaches movie classes at kids-​make-​movies and at schools, currently P. S.372 in Brooklyn.

Elke is also the co-​founder of videovampires inc, a full-​service video production company. She has over ten years of experience in all aspects of video production and has produced commercials, corporate videos, short films and video art. She has worked with children in castings and loves to teach.
