Really wasn’t a fan. Their boba tasted like chemicals to me. I usually go to and am I huge fan of gong cha, and this place did not even come close. I love milk bubble tea and didn’t even take more than 3 sips.

Bubble tea is one of my favorite things in the world and I gotta say I’m disappointed with KungFuTea. Tonight I ordered a taro bubble tea with 50% sugar because I don’t like my drinks too sweet. To my disappointment, it was sweeter than any bubble tea I’ve ever had. So sweet I threw it out right after exiting the door. I would’ve gone back to make sure it was made correctly but didn’t have time unfortunately. Much better off going to Vivi you won’t regret that!

Great drinks and great service. I’d say one of the best around! I come here with my friends and my boyfriend all the time. Kung-fu tea is a great brand itself and this branch gives it that extra boost to excellence. This specific location is pretty popular. It’s always packed but of course that’s a good sign. Why else would people crowd over? There are so many choices! I love their green milk tea, oolong, lychee punch, and passionfruit. Their hot taro is also great, it’s made with fresh taro. My mom loves it.

Kung Fu Tea is my #1 choice of all bubble tea shops!!! Especially this specific location in China town! I love their bubbles there. They are chewy and yummy! I personally love their green milk tea, oolong milk tea and the Chai Milk with regular sugar. You can choose your sugar level if you’d like it to be less sweet. Definitely recommended!!!

Uh… went here last night and ordered a large Oreo tea with bubbles… he said they were out of bubbles. So I said nevermind. Everyone around us had bubbles in their tea. What the heck. This is a bubble tea place… Weird. I will stick with CoCo or ViVi.

Overwhelmed by the bubble tea selection in Chinatown? Go to Kung Fu Tea! They have so many flavors and fast service. I ordered the taro milk tea with normal sugar with boba and it was really sweet. I like my bubble tea sweet, but I could have done much less. If you are ordering a sweet, fruity flavor, I would recommend getting less than 50% of the sugar. Like most bubble tea places, it’s small so plan to get your drink to go. And, remember, cash only!

I stopped in here one Saturday afternoon to try them out. It’s a very small store, I had to figure out where the line started as there were people waiting to order and those waiting for their drinks. spent a total of 4 minutes in there. I ordered a mango green tea with bubbles and 70% sugar. I have to say it was a bit too sweet for me, next time I’ll get less sugar. Other than that, it was good. I’ll definitely go back when I’m in Chinatown.

Typical bubble tea shop. Long line but efficient service. I got the yogurt green tea, which was nice and refreshing-definitely not too sweet, which I appreciated. There’s really not much in the way of seating inside, so expect to take everything to go!

Worst service at any KFT I’ve been too. Keep in mind, KFT is a very popular chain. Bubble tea is… well you know. bubble tea. There’s is a little creamier than most but good in general. Service(at this specific location) is pitiful. by a certain employee. On two separate occasions he has gotten my order wrong and on both occasions he blames the costumer. It’s really not a big deal but he wants to use a sassy attitude. «You’re fault for not checking the receipt»… «No you didn’t say that before» «I remember you ordered ____.» Ridiculous. While in Chinatown, guess i’ll stick with Vivi. Patea. chatime. or even the Yayas up the block… literally anywhere but here.

Really pleasantly surprised by the tea quality here! I got a milk green tea(my go-to first time drink at a new place) with 30% sugar and it was PERFECT. Definitely on the creamy side, but not too sweet and with a distinct jasmine flavor. Something about it was different in a way that I loved it but couldn’t put a finger on it… maybe they used soy milk instead of regular milk or creamer? I later figured out that they use Lactaid milk! I’ve never had it before, but apparently I really like Lactaid! It gave the milk tea a unique flavor and consistency that really worked for me. And at $ 3 flat, it was a great value. The seating is tiny and consists of 2 or 3 bar stools along a small counter, but my friend and I managed to sit here and chat for an hour before they closed. I just wouldn’t plan on it as a sit-down location, since those 2 seats might be taken. My only wish is that they had a stamp card, but other than that, great job!

I love me some good boba. There were several different shops on my walk to here, but something just told me I need to come here. I think I’ll blame that on the name. I went with a Green Milk Tea with boba, to keep things simple. The boba was perfectly chewy and tasted like it had been soaked in honey! The Green tea flavor was perfect as well. I didn’t modify the sweetness of my drink, but for those seeking less sugar, they do provide that option. I gave my husband a try and although he is not a boba fan, all of a sudden he wanted some(normally it’s a «waste» for him to get a boba drink). I’m glad I was able to have a good boba experience while walking the streets of NY.

Oh man, I love this place. I’m not normally a big bubble tea person, but their taro milk tea is amazing. The first time my husband bought one, he let me try a sip and then I ended up finishing almost all of it(much to his distress). Fantastic flavor, and it’s made CONCENTRATED. This is the type of place where I actually want to let my ice melt, because if I drink it before the ice melts, it’s too strong. I love how you can customize everything here to your liking: sugar levels, ice levels, pearls/jelly. I also love that they have herbal jelly here; I grew up with the stuff as a dessert, but never actually had it in bubble tea before I came here. Their tapioca pearls have great texture, and they are very generous with their portions; no skimpy stuff here! They also make good hot drinks in the winter, and their chai flavor is nice, but my absolute favorite will always be their Taro Milk Tea with Herbal Jelly, less sugar, less ice(that’s my exact order, $ 4, worth every penny). I’ve literally ordered, left this place with my drink, finished, and walked back to get a second one. There is often a line, but it moves fast. Come here, you won’t regret it. Note: Cash only, limited counter seating(4 seats, squished on the side), and there doesn’t appear to be a bathroom.

Was literally the last customer before the iron gates started to roll down the glass doors. The menu is quite varied and very, very fun. If you’re a frequently boba/bubble tea, then you’ve probably heard about Kung Fu Tea, they’ve got a bunch of chain stores here and there, mostly in Chinatown like areas. In comparison to other boba/bubble tea stores, Kung Fu Tea isn’t bad. It’s fairly decent. But if you want a damn good drink, I recommend going to a Taiwanese boba/bubble tea place. Most places will even let you vary the amount of sugar in the drink so if you’re on a diet but still craving a sip of tea, this is a great option for you. If you’re in the area, I totally recommend trying Teado down the street. Service takes a few minutes longer than Kung Fu Tea but the taste is definitely more fresh and«Ahhhh~» inducing. Kung Fu Tea as a chain brand is rather decent, locations may vary on the quality but that’s why I like my small hole in the wall type of tea places.

Lychee punch: lychee syrup & pulp. It’s the same as lychee green tea, but they add the pulp. I don’t like to drink it sweet so I always ask for little sugar which is 30% of the amount of sugar they normally add. *if you ask for topping ask for less because every time you sip on the drink I feel like I’m drinking jelly rather than the drink itself*

The Best Bubble tea place I’ve ever been to! I came here twice during my visit to NYC and stopped here again on my way leaving the city. The Taro slush is my fave, it’s so delicious!

What I love about Kung Fu Tea is that their branches are consistently producing flavorful milk teas with boba of optimal texture. I always order the regular milk or green milk tea with boba pearls. Call me a traditionalist, but Kung Fu Tea always delivers on these favorites. A heads-up: their drinks tend to run on the sweet side, so opt for 50% sugar(or less even). I prefer to have a bit of the bitter tea taste too as I’m not paying $ 3 for a cup of sugar. The store is small and there’s a small area near the back window with stools, but don’t expect to sit here. A crowd usually forms during the busier parts of day and weekend, so take your drink to go and head for the nearby park or explore the rest of Chinatown. Overall, a great boba option in Chinatown. There’s a reason for the crowds!

It was a mission of mine to drink a few of these on my most recent holiday and by these, I mean, bubble tea– or as the Americans(Asian Americans?) refer to it as, boba tea. Which is essentially just tea(milky or otherwise) with floating chewy bits in it. Whilst not nearly as new and exciting when these things first appeared on the scene many many moons ago, the trick is now finding the shop that perfects the combination of tea + flavour, sweetness, consistency, boba(or topping of choice) and ice. Oh and value — but these suckers will set you back around $ 3-$ 6, depending on size and also shop. So for the three boba tea stores I managed to visit whilst in the states, I had a check list that I went through with each visit. At Kung Fu Tea, I ordered a milk green tea with pearls(or boba), 70% sweet and I got the large cup(it was my last day and I was feeling decidedly greedy)! Tea: 4⁄5 — the milk green tea flavour was incredibly subtle, I didn’t realise until well after(as in, too far to walk back), that had I wanted the true and obvious green tea flavour punch, I should have ordered the matcha milk tea! Bubbles /boba: 5⁄5 — these little babies were the perfect consistency, I haven’t had any so good since living in Sydney. Perfectly chewy and what’s more, PLENTIFUL! Sweetness(70%): 5⁄5 — very very good. Plus they sealed the cup, so you can shake it up yourself to get an even distribution of sweetness added to milky tea Ice: 4⁄5 — almost too many, but I guess I could have requested less. Value: 5⁄5 — lots of boba for your buck, which was around $ 5 worth I just need to go back and try some different flavours. Until next time!

This girl loves bubble tea and Kung Fu Tea gave me exactly what I wanted. An ice cold oolong milk tea with bubbles galore! The tea was deliciously creamy, sweet, and flavorful with just enough bubbles. It was really great. My sister got a green tea with bubbles, which was also quite lovely. The service was quick and friendly. The pricing was comparable to a Starbucks run. Overall, excellent tasty product!

The drinks here are actually really good, but I don’t particularly like the boba. The boba is bland and sometimes not consistently chewy throughout. but if I get other things in my drink like grass jelly or mung bean, I end up loving my drink! I like how if you order something with tea, it actually tastes like tea and not like pre-mix powder. And I tried the ginger milk last time and it was delicious and super gingery! Other great thing, is supposedly you can choose the level of sweetness you enjoy your drink, so it doesn’t always come out overly sweet. The 3 stars do come from the fact that I’ve been spoiled all my life with boba in LA, and nothing in NY really comes close. But if I was in the mood for boba here, I think Kung Fu Tea may be my go-to.

Ka pow! goes your taste buds. Rich, creamy, thirst quenching tea, great during any time of the year. A bit pricey but kind of worth it, you’re getting what you paid for and it’s all fresh and tastes great, strong tea flavors. I wish they had student discounts or stamp cards atleast :( I recommend their herbal jelly with milk tea and any of their green tea items.
