Kwick Wash Laundromat & Dry Cleaning

I don’t know why this place has two star! The staff here is incredibly nice. So nice I felt compelled to give them a christmas gift and I’ve never done that before.
They are always on time and the clothes smell amazing. They are also perfectly folded.
The other thing I love is that they remember my name and greet me every time I walk in with a friendly face. They have the cutest old dog there, as well. She is the quiet presence :)
Give this place a shot and you will not be disappointed :)

Staff is nice but owner is ridiculously rude, telling me that I need to keep the ticket they provide, even though everything is in their system, and that I don’t seem like a good customer because no one told me that there is a $ 20 minimum for credit cards. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

The staff here are very friendly. I disagree with the negative reviews here. When you speak with the staff, learn their names, and treat them with the respect any human deserves, you’ll see that they are nice and caring people.
What I like about this place is that they are reasonably priced, they allow a charge account so they just take care of the bill and they are nice to dogs (they’ve even walked our dog!).
Highly recommend using them regularly.

Worst laundry mat in the city. They are located across from me so I tried and tried but they continued to disappoint. Not only where they no using my detergent (my laundry never smelled fresh although detergent was always going empty) but they don’t separate when they charge you for it AND they’re overpriced. There are much better options. Stay away!

The staff is always friendly to me when I do my laundry there. I’ve dropped it off too and it’s always ready when they tell you it will be. There are always washers and dryers available which is the most important thing for me.

This place is wildly over priced (a dollar for 10 minutes in the dryer!) the management is rude and uncaring, which can also be attested from other viewers. I also tried to exchange a few dollars in pennies for quarters (i mean money is money) and they refused and said it was the same as not accepting hundred dollar bills… WHAT! I just can’t stand going here anymore! I’m never patronizing this place again!

We had a dry cleaning only throw blanket which was washed instead of dry cleaned and encountered a dismissive and defensive manager whilst trying to rectify the problem.
However the owner of Kwik Wash contacted us and worked diligently to find a solution to the problem which was sorted out to our satisfaction.
Mistakes can happen but the power of caring customer service is the hallmark of a good company in my opinion.

Finding a dry cleaner in Manhattan is not difficult. They are as ubiquitous as nail salons in this town. Sticking with a dry cleaner is! (same goes for nail salons) Kwick is cheaper than the 4 other dry cleaners around the block. I was having a pretty good experience at my previous cleaner but the bill was always alarmingly high that I decided to look for alternatives. After a 6 month stint, I’m leaving Kwick. Kwick has unwittingly given me reasons to buy more clothes over the past winter as my clothes have been returned to me with holes. Unless I have a moths’ nest in my closet, I have no other explanation. (I don’t have a moths’ nest…) I would say about 5−10% of my clothes have come back with a hole or two.
The reason for not giving it a 1 rating is that I did have a positive experience with the wash and fold when my laundry room was under construction for a couple months.

I have tried to make this place work for me because it is relatively inexpensive and near my apartment but I just can’t do it ever again. My first few experiences were good. Clothes were picked up and delivered within a reasonable amount of time; clean and nothing missing. Then the next few times I was returned delicates wet and balled up in a plastic bag the day after everything had been washed. I had to re-​wash everything by hand and hang dry in my apartment. I still went back — mostly because I was too lazy to find a new wash & fold. Then I got my favorite shirt back with a hole in the sleeve, another person’s dry-​cleaning — which I promptly returned — and my dry cleaning and several pairs of underwear missing. (They came with my dry cleaning the next day though I never saw the underwear again.) I STILL gave this place the benefit of the doubt. Bad call. One rainy day I walked my laundry to them in the morning, paid up front, and made an appointment to have it delivered that evening, I specifically said that I would need it delivered that evening, no matter what, and was told that it wouldn’t be a problem. That night when I got home from work I called and asked for the laundry to be delivered and was told that it would be 20 minutes. I said that I had a dinner reservation but that 20 minutes would be okay as long as it wasn’t any more time than that. 30 minutes later when I called back I was told by the very belligerent delivery man that he would not deliver in the rain (even though the forecast was calling for rain all week). «I’m not going to get sick,» he told me emphatically! He argued with me for about ten minutes, at one point saying that if I needed my laundry, I could come get it myself. Finally, when he realized that I wasn’t going to break down, he said «fine, I’ll get sick!» He still took another 30 minutes. And then had the nerve to hold out his hand for a tip! The same man who had been yelling at me 30 minutes prior. Needless to say, there was no tip. And I will not be giving Kwick Wash any more business.

This is the first review I have ever written online, prompted by the awful experiences at this laundromat. It is important for me to have a place nearby, which would do local pick-​up and delivery. Even that it usually costs a few bucks more, for me this is totally worth it. The place claims to have free pick-​up and delivery, however, it is not at all free, as they charge you almost three (!) times more per pound when they deliver than when you drop off (depending on weight, it is especially unfair for small loads). Then, over a few months I’ve used them, they lost countless black underwear. I first thought there was a pervert stealing them. But then last week, they lost a black tank top, I called them on it. They told me that things get SUCKED INTO the pipes and they can’t help it. I requested to speak to the manager, Paul, who turned out to be the rudest, most arrogant, and downright psychotic (he was yelling at me after 2 seconds on the phone) asshole I’ve ever seen in a manager position. No wonder this place is always empty, as pointed out by the reviewer below.

This is our neighborhood laundry. For those of us in Lower Chelsea, it’s kind of important to rate laundromats, especially since the 17^th & 8^th Avenue one closed (at first, I’d say the closing of that massive laundromat reduced my NYC quality of life by 20% – but I got over this). This particular laundromat always has machines and dryers available, compared to the one on 15^th street (between 7^th and 8^th avenues). Customers aren’t stepping all over each other like on 15^th street. However, 15^th street uses hot water in their machines – not in this one (in spite of the staff claiming that the machines do). You can still get a good wash (I don’t drop off, by the way) with cold water but that’s a choice you need to make. In spite of this major flaw, I still use W16th street because there’s room. On W15, I’ve stressed out about not having any dryers – that sucks.
