The kids love the macarons. And they let us sit even though they were about to close — so a bonus star for customer service

Ordered the Praline and Kir Royale macarons. The Praline tasted more like Peanut Butter, which is not what Pralines taste like. The Kir Royale was much better and was soft, meaning it was fresh but parts of it were falling off the second I took it out of the bag.

Whenever I’m in NYC I find myself a macaroon treat! I agree with a previous viewer their flavors are very intense which is why I love macaroons so much! Very please… I tried rose(my favorite), Tahitian Vanilla and apricot champagne! As better or a slight better than laundre

Honestly best macaroons I’ve had in so long! This place is so cozy, it’s a coffee house/dessert spot!

Alright, no frills today because I am one disappointed and angsty customer. These past recent visits have been less than superb — both the food AND the customer service have been going downhill. There seems to be less effort put into the macarons, especially in the presentability department. Edible gold-painted(or was it silver?) lychee rose macaron: gone. Specially piped ganache in the chocolate macarons: gone. The little bits on the coffee macaron that help give them flavor and character: also gone. Then, today, one of the associates had the nerve to tell me «ummm, could you bring your tray up please,» in the most apathetic way ever, sprinkled with a hint of bitchiness. Excuse me? After I brought up other customers’ trays that they left on other tables? And when she saw that I already placed them where they’re supposed to be without even having to be asked to do so, I don’t even receive an apology. All I got was, «Oh. It’s already there.» I do realize it’s such a small thing to get all antsy over but just the subtle tones in that situation and the unapologetic rudeness is something I just can’t work with. Contemplating going back to give them another chance but also ready to look for my new go-to macaron place.

Having bookmarked this place for several years now, I finally was able to venture here after my visit to the High Line. What can be more fitting to end such a day than macarons? A six piece box made to your liking will cost you $ 17, but they had a special random box special already made up for $ 15 if you are so inclined. I had my own separate agenda, so I went for the $ 17 box. There is a great variety, so make sure you take your time. Not in a hurry? Get a table and an espresso and hang out for a bit. The space is small, so only bring a friend you really like. I got the praline, rose, pistachio, chocolate, almond, and pink champagne. The rose was really wild to me, to taste and smell the scent is just very unique to me — really divine. The second runner up would have to be the praline — very rich and decedent. I took one star away because more than one macaron i purchased had a smashed top. I understand it doesn’t effect the taste, but at $ 17 for a box, I would have liked them all to have been perfect. Still, not enough to keep me away.

Macaroon was next level. Ordered the chocolate. Incredible texture and density. Definitely super fresh and made with care. Also ordered a coffee. Sat down. Items were brought to my table.

3.5STARS Kouign Amann — their version of it was very salty and buttery. It was alright. 3STARS Black and White Apricot Jam in the middle — very good. I really like the jam in between the cookies. 4STARS Almond Croissant(Regular Size) — there were no actual almond pieces on the top of the croissant instead almond paste and caramelized sugar was inside the croissant. It’s pretty good but I wouldn’t go out of my way to get it. 3.5STARS I have yet to try their macarons. I’ll have to come back to try them. FYI — There is seating in the back if you wish to stay and eat.

After dinner, we just wanted a small treat. I want on yo Google maps and put in «macaron» and found this shop within walking distance. The Macarons were $ 2.75 each but when I calculated how much they charge for 6($ 17), I did the math and notice it was 0.50 over change. So make sure you are aware when you buy in multiples. They get to sneak an additional charge for the box. The Macarons are delicate but I think how they store it(refrigerator?) it caused it to be a little on the chewy size. All in all, it was what satisfied what I was craving.

Stopped in here last week for a macaron and a coffee. Well, my friend wanted a coffee and a snack, I don’t really drink coffee and I was saving my snack for Levain bakery in a few hours. We had been walking all day and I decided to sit on one of the comfy couches while she ordered and my other friend went to the bathroom. The very sassy lady up front curtly told my friend«you all need to buy something if you are going to sit here.» Literally the store was EMPTY. Probably 10 tables in the place, only 1 was occupied, and, no offense, no one else was coming into the shop. what is the problem if we sit for 5 minutes? It wasn’t like we bought NOTHING. Very rude. Oh, and my friend threw away her coffee cause she said it sucked!

So Delicious! I first thought the la Maison du Macaron is affiliated with Maison du Chocolat, which they are not, but it didn’t take long for my new discovery to become one of my new fave places for dessert in New York City. There is a variety, it’s crispy fresh, delicious you can take out or enjoy your dessert with a cup of coffee in a café.

This is my favorite place to get macarons. A cute little café, La Maison du Macaron serves an assortment of pastries and drinks. However, I’ve only tried their macarons. Their flavors are usually the same with new flavors here and there, but you can always expect at least ¾ of their macarons to be flavors you’re familiar with. So don’t expect out of the ordinary macarons here. I would recommend: –Strawberry — Vanilla — Coffee — Chocolate — Pistachio I’m not sure why you wouldn’t eat them right away, but if you plan on saving them, make sure you place them in the refrigerator because after an hour, they will begin to crack :(. La Maison du Macaron has a seating area with couches and tables, so devouring the macarons shouldn’t be a problem!

A friend took me here when I was visiting(thanks to Unilocal). We were both oh, so delighted. The many pastries caught my eye – all delectable looking – but I couldn’t not try the unique macaron flavors. I got a lychee-raspberry and a cassis-champagne(kir royal) macaron with a white chocolate macadamia latte. My drink was made with care by the friendly barista and placed on a silver platter with my macarons. That presentation made all the difference. We felt so royal. And I couldn’t help but adore how my macarons were dusted in gold powder. Great macarons, especially in texture. Flavors were quite nice. I tried my friend’s coffee macaron and we agreed the flavor was a bit weak there, but she also enjoyed them overall. Luckily we found seats in the back(on a Saturday!). I’d pay attention to that if you plan on staying in – the seating is a bit limited, but they do manage to effectively use the space. Little things I noticed: 1.) The owner(?) working the counter spoke up for my friend and I when we were cut in line by another customer. It wasn’t a big deal, but we definitely appreciated the gesture, especially in a place like NYC. 2.) I also give kudos to this place for decorating in a fashion that could be borderline cluttered if not done right; however, the successful execution of décor is just charming. Really everything about La Maison is about the detail. How could you not appreciate that?

Oh my! My friend brought this back for me on his recent visit to NY. We both love macarons and finding ourselves becoming macaron connoisseurs. Haha! From the crunch of the outer layer to the moist and flavorful filling, these macarons was such a delight from the NYC. I liked the fact it wasn’t too sweet also. From what my friend mentioned there were plenty of macarons and desserts to choose. I got the special of the day where it is 6 prepackaged macarons for $ 15. All GOOD! I will definitely make my visit to this place when I’m there.

«Take my money and give me more!» –Me when I find a place that sells great macarons($ 2.75 each). Their little treats were plump and moist, with a rich filling that’s perfectly proportioned to the cookie… My, oh my… I could buy half-a-dozen(for $ 15) everyday if I didn’t have student loans to pay!

Great selection and a cute place overall. The macarons are very tasty and the ambiance of the place is great, although it’s on the smaller side. Prices are pretty much the same everywhere in NY for a macaron. I recommend stopping by if you’re in the area.

The hot apple cider is delicious, if a little overpriced, and the mini tarts are AMAZING. I had a mini lemon tart and a mini raspberry tart. The lemon was by far my favorite — I love sour things — and I would definitely get a full sized one next time. I’m also dying to try the Passionfruit cream tart, because how often do you see one of those???

As we were walking down the street, we stumbled upon this little gem and as soon as I saw the macaroons, my heart was stolen! Although I only got 2 macaroons, I wanted to buy the whole place! Everything looked delicious, and smelled even better. They had a wide variety of the regular flavors, along with some of their own creations like the Mango/Passion Fruit and other tropical fruits. They also had some other French pastries and some coffee. The place itself was very cozy and it almost felt like I was home. Great job on this establishment… Go Macaroons!

BEST Macaroons I have ever had! The place is beautiful. Quaint and thoughtful. The food is delicious. I highly recommend the vanilla, Kirk royale and coconut macaroons. Every time I visit New York I HAVETO stop by. Oh and the ham and cheese croissant is just heavenly.

Ah macarons are my guilty pleasure and I only came here for that. Actually what really happened was I was just strolling around Chelsea and walked passed by this place. I tried to resist this place by continuing walking some more but I couldn’t control myself and had to come in. They have a wide variety of macarons(so pretty!!) and it’s really hard to limit yourself. But I controlled myself and only got 3 macarons but it’s also because I had to walk around the city all day in the heat so I didn’t want to be carrying them around all day. If I had no where to go afterwards, you betcha I’d be getting a box for later. Macarons were served on a pretty silver tray. I tried the Lychee Liquor Rose/Raspberry, Pink Champagne and the White Chocolate Coconut macaron. I loved the consistency and flavor of all of them except for the Pink Champagne. Maybe I just got a bad one but it was too moist. The other two flavors had perfect consistency — macarons were soft on the inside(not hollow, aka perfection!) and the shell was crispy. The staff was very nice and the ambiance is cute/pretty/cozy. There’s a decent amount of seating(couches and chairs) and tables which makes it great for catching up with a friend.

Fui muchas veces y me pareció riquísimo todo lo que probé, especialmente los macarons y la créme brûlée. El local es muy acogedor, cómodo y tranquilo. Uno de mis lugares favoritos de NY para desayunar.

I was so excited to try this place as I’ve heard many great praises from friends and read plenty of stellar reviews on Unilocal. Upon walking in, I noticed the ambiance of this bakery. It was cute, chic, with a touch of comfort and luxury. I of course darted to the macaron section to check out the bad boys. At $ 2.75 a piece, they stacked up fairly the same against other competitors. I sampled the caramel(which is my go-to flavor for any dessert), kir royal(crème de cassis + champagne), and passionfruit. Unfortunately, the ambiance was probably the only thing I loved about this place. Firstly, the caramel macaron tasted nothing like caramel. The flavor fell short of bland if that’s even possible and just tasted like sugar. The texture of the cookie was lightly crisp and there was a generous amount of crème filling, but that was the only thing positive about it. The passion fruit which happened to be the«best» flavor out of all of them was fruity and creamy, but was made smaller than the other two which did not make sense to me, perhaps they freehand the macarons? Who knows. The kir royal flavor, which I’ve had as a cocktail before almost tasted like a candle in macaron form. Overall, they were not pleasant to my taste buds. Maybe I should have stuck with the basics: vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry because I was extremely disappointed with the ones I ordered, especially the caramel, a flavor that I’m all too familiar with.

Am I just having a bad streak with dessert places? Then again, I did come into a macaron place asking for their crème brulee. I stumbled into La Maison in Chelsea because of the lack of froyo places around. And yes, I did order their crème brulee. This crème brulee was prepared beautifully — the sugar seemed to be torched just right and of course, who could forget that little stick of chocolate. Then, I broke into the sugar layer and encountered a runny and loose pudding. I’m not sure if this is some type of crème brulee, but the past that I’ve had is a custard, somewhat firm, but still soft enough for me to enjoy. The price was $ 5 — which usually isn’t bad for that type of dessert but this was just a little too much for pudding. My friend sampled their éclair which apparently is super sweet, so if you don’t have a huge sweet tooth, I would suggest staying away. She also had one of their macarons — apparently very delicious and likely would have changed my review. As for the seating area — it is large and beautiful, so beautiful that we couldn’t sit on it. There is a sign in the front that tells you that they no longer offer complimentary seating and you’ll have to purchase something to sit. I believed we purchased something… but then we were told we couldn’t sit there? I’m a big believer that if you have a sign that you comply with it. Or at least add extra details saying when this section is closed. The sign clearly wasn’t blocking the entrance to the seating area. Oh well, at least the bags are cute.

I love my macarons, however I suppose Im going to have to say I’m on the Ladurée side of this war. Now these macarons are good, but in comparison I think these are way too sweet, and all have a heavier frosting type filling, I prefer the smoother french pastry crème type. The inside is decorated in a cute shabby chic style. I can also say that we arrived 5 minutes before closing and the girls were patent as we drunkingly pick out what we wanted…
